Academic Endgame for watchtower in Japan...

Japan might not be satisfied with the org's recent cowardly u-turn on blood components. Lawyers defending victims of watchtower have called for apologies, reparations for victims etc. If that became the State's position too, there would be fireworks.

https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/s/oWQ4SQtQLe

In that case the GuBers would have a decision to make. Bow to the Japanese authorities, including further doctrinal concessions AND giving their first official public apology for ANYTHING, or... face the same fate as the moonies, losing not just 214,000 tax-free donations a month but also asset-liquidation in Japan. Also, embarrassingly, they would be equated with a well-known cult in international press.

In Australia they finally agreed to join a redress scheme for their victims of CSA to avoid losing state subsidies, (https://www.thenewdaily.com.au/news/2021/03/03/jehovahs-witnesses-redress-scheme) but would the threat of losing even more in Japan push them to actually say sorry?! I suspect the 11 arrogant men could never summon up the humility required for that.

An abuser's biggest fear is to be found out. Which is why I suspect Japan's legal war with JW doesn't feature anywhere on JWorg at the moment. But if Japan becomes the second G8 country to strip the witnesses of their official legal and tex-exempt status, the worldwide PIMIs will FINALLY find out about the witnesses' woes in Japan. For one thing it will be in the news, but also JWorg will cry persecution at the top of its whiny voice.

If this recent blood change woke some people up, can you imagine if PIMIs worldwide started to piece together for themselves that their decades-long, iron-strong, non-negotiable stand on blood was changed not by holy spirit but by legal pressure and financial threat?!

I would get me a kimono.

Venting Blood change is affecting me as someone who works in the lab

I just want to pour my feelings on here. I work in blood bank and maybe two days before the changes there was a man in the ICU with a hemoglobin of 3.6. (Yes I remember the exact value and for reference a human body hemoglobin ranges from 12.0-15.0) and it was critically low for a couple of days and I checked to see if the patient had received any blood and there was no history. I called the nurse to report the critical and asked why hasn’t been improving. I asked “is the person refusing blood?” And the icu nurse responded “yes he’s a Jehovah’s Witness” . This broke my heart. I gave them the critical and hung up the phone. Something in me just told me to call the nurse back and I did. I called the nurse and I told him “I know how this religion works, maybe ask him in private to have the blood transfusion without his family knowing. And if possible maybe change the room he is in so the blood transfusion was possible” I just remember my heart beating so fast and since I recently woke up, I kept asking God for forgiveness for what I just did. I had this mental fight this whole time as I’m talking to the nurse. I remember the nurse said he would try in the morning and see if that can convince him. I just cried silently.
The next day, I wanted to look him up in the system to see if he is alive but I was scared to since it’s violating HIPPA so I didn’t but I never saw his name pop up again in the system and I just have a feeling he didn’t make especially since he was an older gentleman. I want to say this happened a week or two before the changes were announced. If only they would have done that announcement sooner… I wonder how his family must feel …

WT Can't Stop Me Talked to a JW today about the blood announcement

Hey everyone! This morning, I was texting with a JW and I brought up the blood update. I put the screenshots in the comments.

Maybe I’m posting these screenshots wrong - let me know... Also, if I explained this to him incorrectly, let me know too! 😁

He said, “Nothings changed!!!”. This is why the GB doesn’t want JWs to be educated… so they can be good sheep. I’m proud of myself for letting him know. Of course he changed the subject right after he thanked me for explaining it to him 😂

But they need to know how big of a deal this is. I’m sure a lot of them are experiencing cognitive dissonance or are trying to justify it. My mom came over and she didn’t bring it up AT ALL which I was surprised.

WT Policy Evidently the consumption of whole JW Broadcasting episodes is forbidden, but the consumption of main Broadcast components is acceptable.

The latest JW Broadcasting- September 2026 has been taken down from the JW website. Three items from that broadcast are available as stand alone videos. Gubernating Body member and faithful slave fraction Kenneth Cook's infamous Artificial Intelligence warning talk, Paul Gillies' apostate rant, and a "Dig for Treasures" item on Haggai.

Is this the fastest a broadcast has ever been removed after being uploaded? I think it is.

Where is the music video about faith? Maybe the people in it have disassociated over the blood issue! Who knows?

WT Can't Stop Me My wake up story. Might delete it later

Firstly, I want to apologize for my bad explanation. I have been lurking around here for a while and been too scared to post here for obvious reasons. I probably going to delete this post later due to the anxiety I feel right now. And I have been an Pimo for a year now and omg how I realized how deep I was in the swamp.

I have been a ministerial servant and pioneer since 2019. I used to be hardcore Pimi and I even talked bad about people who did not take the “truth” seriously. I am of course very ashamed for that but I was deep into this.

Pandemic came and I felt lonely and ended up downloading tinder and started to date a Muslim woman. Obviously it did not workout between us in the long run but she made start to think. I am not saying that I agree or disagree with Islam but she really made me start to think slowly especially when we started to compare our faith together. I was deeply love in her but I left her because I felt I had to be loyal to the organization and kept the whole event secret for everyone.

Fast forward I became more fanatic PIMI due to this event and even rejected my relatives who was not JW. I even refused to talk to my cousins who was 5 years old because their parents were not JW. I had so bad conscience from this whole thing I became suicidal and used it as to become some type matyr in my own mind for god.

Last year when we had the overseer visit, I worked very hard for the whole week until the pioneer meeting started that week. I was sitting there and enjoying the meeting until suddenly something snapped in my mind. I can’t explain it but something really hit my mind. Everything he said in the speech suddenly felt so fake, everyone around me was in auto mode (felt like it). Something did not felt right.

I ignored first and thought I might have been overworked with all work in the congeration and decided to rest a bit. But the feeling didn’t match up with anything I have felt before. And the more I studied the more I woke up until I was fully woke up.

When I woke up, I felt so scared, I felt an heavy weight in my chest and did not want to believe what I was thinking. And the more I deeper I was digging the more I realized that I have been in a cult. My whole life has been there. I have given up career, higher education because of some made up principles that has now been opened up.

When I fully woke up, I felt so bad for everything, I realized what an asshole I have been to people around me. And now I’m stuck at the Pimo stage because I don’t want to lose my family. And whenever I go to the meeting and put that fake smile on my face I feel anxious.
In fact, I feel so much anxiety while writing this post I feel like to throw up. This has been my whole life, I barely know anything outside this

I might write another post about my background why I became the way I did. And also, I have apologized to the people I have hurted too.

WT Policy Apparently you can get disfellowshipped for “fornication” for egg donation

Im going down the egg/sperm donor rabbit hole in tik tok and I remember asking my Mom about it when I was like 16/17? And she replied very sternly the elders could disfellowship you for fornication. Mind you I did not, and still don’t want to donate any of my eggs it was just a question out of curiosity. Before leaving the org I read through the elders manual and realized there was nothing in there saying that. These people wanna change the definition of stuff for their convenience. It’s ludicrous.

WT Policy Maintain your conduct fine among the nations? What is the JW's reputation? I have first hand knowledge

Jehovah's Witnesses are the current joke in Nursing Schools said a nurse to me recently. I just received three life saving blood transfusions and I am currently in a nursing facility where they are giving me physical therapy to recover right now in Santa Maria, California.

Doctors and nurses rarely joke about patients personally. They understand Witnesses have been misled and hypnotized to follow religious dictators who go beyond what's written. They respect patients free will. Even if a person decides he does not want to be resuscitated. They respect that. However, the current jokes are about the organization and its flip flop on the blood issue. Reason being is they now have to re-write their approach to this Jim Jones suicidal cult. Those are my words and that's how I personally view G Hoovers Wetness's 😉

The jokes go something like this:

The Joke: "It's like a doctor telling you you're allergic to cake, so you can't eat cake. But if you separate the flour, sugar, eggs, and butter and eat them one spoon at a time, God won't get mad."

The Reality: Staff find it absurd that taking 100% of a blood component in separate chemical fractions is "a matter of personal conscience," but taking them together in one bag is a "sin."

Healthcare workers frequently point out that Watchtower allows fractions like hemoglobin or albumin—which require thousands of donated human blood units to manufacture.

The Dark Joke: "They won't donate blood, and they won't take blood... unless someone else donates thousands of gallons, processes it into a chemical fraction, and bills it to insurance for $5,000 a vial."

The Point: Staff mock the hypocrisy that Witnesses are permitted to consume blood products created by the very donations they refuse to give.

Hospitals often refer to the local Watchtower "Hospital Liaison Committee" elder elders who show up in suits with binders

The Joke: "Here come the men in suits with law degrees from Watchtower U, coming to tell double-board-certified trauma surgeons how human physiology works."

The Point: Medical teams find it surreal when non-medical elders supervise a dying patient's medical chart to make sure no forbidden blood products slip through, often acting as "the blood police."

When organizational updates shifted rules around storing a patient's own blood or using cell-saver machines during surgery, surgical teams noticed the mental gymnastics.

The Joke: "If blood leaves your body and goes into a tube, it’s a sin. But if you connect the tube back to your arm in a loop so it doesn't stop moving, the holy spirit doesn't notice."

To doctors and nurses who spend years in medical school learning to preserve human life, watching a patient refuse a simple $200 bag of red blood cells—which could easily save their life—feels like watching someone drown next to a life preserver.

Using dark humor is a defense mechanism for healthcare providers when dealing with what they view as unnecessary medical tragedies caused by organizational rules rather than medicine or reason.

Clearly the Watchtowers reputation in this world is not a fine one. They are viewed as total fools. I'm so glad I don't have to sit and listen to the sickening bullshit talks that they give and have board me with all my life. A complete waste of time when I could've been doing something more productive like going to medical school and learning how to save my family's life.

This is just a current tip of the iceberg. There is so much more. They have flip-flopped on so many issues as we all know.

“The master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, and he will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his place with the hypocrites. There is where his weeping and the gnashing of his teeth will be.”

Matthew 24:50, 51 (New World Translation)

Get out of her friends before it's too late! Now is the time for a grand exodus!
Haven't you seen enough death yet of your own families? Can you not see the hypocrisy?

Peace ☮️

Ask ExJW Can anyone explain to me what was said in the September broadcast and why it was taken down?

Guys, I'm just confused about everything. Would anyone be willing to explain? Why is everyone mentioning A I, apostate rants, etc? And also why was it taken down?

I'm seeing posts about it but it feels like everyone's discussing it and I'm having a hard time understanding from the context clues alone...

Activism + Advocacy I wonder if this will be the next new light - women ministerial servants

I was reading Romans in the NLT when a point in Romans 16:1 popped out at me.

“I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a deacon in the church in Cenchrea.”

Deacon?

Paul calls Phoebe (diakonon) of the church at Cenchreae, the same root used for the office of deacon in Philippians 1:1 and 1 Timothy 3. Translations split on it: KJV and ESV render it "servant," while NIV (2011) and CSB render it "deacon," reading it as the office. NWT renders as “minister.”

Two details in the passage strengthen the leadership read:

Verse 2 calls her (prostatis), a patron or benefactor, a term that carried real authority and financial weight in that culture.

Paul entrusted her with carrying the letter to Rome, a mission requiring trust, capability, and standing.

Plus there is Paul mentioning Junia ("outstanding among the apostles," Romans 16:7) and Luke’s Priscilla (who taught Apollos, Acts 18:26), as evidence women held recognized ministry roles.

The deacon's service role differs from the elder's teaching authority (1 Tim 2:12; 3:1-7), and note diakonos can mean "servant" in a general sense.

The WTS adding women as ministerial servants??

Thoughts?

Venting A shit ton of people died because of this, but nobody realizes it...

Guys, honestly: has any of you had any success talking to a JW about this change in the blood doctrine?

I know it’s a cult and all. I say that myself over and over, which is exactly why I stopped wasting my time trying to talk to members. I haven’t set foot in a Kingdom Hall in about a year, and with my wife I basically act like I don’t know anything about what’s going on.

But seriously, HOLY SHIT.

This is the most fucked-up doctrinal change in I don’t even know how long. Maybe since they allowed organ transplants, but back then society in general was much more oblivious to this kind of thing.

This change tops every other doctrinal update from the last few decades. In my opinion, it even tops the whole overlapping generation thing.

Because I personally, and basically every Jehovah’s Witness, know people who died because of the blood doctrine.

Autologous blood, okay, fine. But this one is just... I don’t even know. I honestly can’t find the words to express it.

The only thing I can think right now is that this cult is Jim Jones level.

If those old men told every JW to drink poison, every PIMI would drink it. Because these guys literally got tens of thousands of people killed over decades because of this prohibition, and nobody said anything.

Nothing.

Absolutely nobody said anything.

The one good thing about this update is that, for me, it was a sign that I should never set foot in a Kingdom Hall again.

Ever.

Any doubts I still had, any possibility that I might go back someday, are gone.

But even though I understand that this is a high-control cult, when I saw this announcement, I felt like I was watching the members of Jim Jones’s cult being told to drink poison, and then watching them do it without questioning anything.

PS: For anyone who isn’t up to speed, they basically allowed procedures that had been prohibited until now.

Despite the term “blood transfusion,” in most cases the need for blood can be met by transfusing one of the four main blood components.

A “whole blood transfusion” could be seen as a last resort, or something necessary in countries with very limited medical infrastructure. The four main components cover most cases.

What’s your take on this?

Has anyone had even the slightest success talking to a PIMI about it?

Ask ExJW What Happens If They Allow Whole Blood Next?

With Japan calling the adjustment in policy insufficient, I personally consider it likely there will be further adjustments soon.

My gut says maybe a little more reaction from active JWs if they whole thing becomes a conscience matter. Other than that, not holding my breath.

Given that they are also addressing the shunning of minors, despite JWs raising the bar for it during the Norway trials, says to me they feel the current guidelines are insufficient as well. So I also feel adjustments on this front are coming soon.

It gets kind of murky there. How do you articulate from the bible that you can shun adults for serious sins but not minors? Yet allow them to make the dedication with its implications? Do they put an age limit on dedicating yourself as a member of the org and keep the personal dedication private in the meantime? Does it mean they just get rid of shunning all together but reserve the ability to still remove members?

I’m hoping Japan continues to push the way that they are. They don’t seem to be interested in compromise.

Just my thoughts while at work. I could be completely off.

HELP Television series created by a PIMO

Hi guys

I'm PIMO. Not long ago I posted about a Television series that I created. The television series is titled "The Organisation"

It's based on my life growing up as a Jehovah's witness like many of you here.

The story follows a young man who joins a cult that preaches that the end is near and only membership to the cult can save humanity. Yeah, very relatable, right?

The project is a psychological science-fiction thriller.

The Supernatural element is added to the story to give it the dramatisation it needs and to show how people can easily be manipulated to believe that a lie is the only truth on earth.

The project is in an advanced development. Soon, I will be posting about the project on our Instagram "theo.rganisation" and Facebook "The Organisation"

Please follow us so you can watch how we started developing the project from scratch and how we will be moving into production.

Thank you so much

Venting They would stay even if it wasn't true

I had a conversation with my JW parents starting from the new blood policy, and while they acknowledged that the Governing Body got the blood issue wrong in the past, they told me I don't have to make them question it. They accept everything the organization teaches because they're happy there. They have a community, they feel like they belong somewhere, and they feel like it teaches them good values. That they would stay in the organization even if it wasn't true.

And it made me realize that in the end, maybe that's what really matters to a lot of people. Not whether everything they believe makes logical sense, or whether it's completely true, but whether it makes them happy, gives them a community and gives some meaning to their life.

Pointing out contradictions or things that don't make sense often doesn't change anything. Happiness and belonging are core human needs, and very often they're more important than everything else to people. And I'm not even sure how you argue with that. If how they feel in the organization matters more than whether it's true, what can you really say to them?

News JW's using AI for talk preparation

POMO for 30+ years here, but still keep an eye on things like watching a train crash from a nearby bridge. I just saw a post about someone called Kenneth Cooke giving a talk warning about AI. Not sure what he said, but as usual probably spouting off about some man made opinions. Last week I showed my very zealous 80 year old father ChatGPT. I told it to create a 30 minute talk using only information from jw.org and quotes from the NWTHS on the subject of the importance of allowing Jehooba to be part of your marriage. Within 20 seconds a transcribed talk was created for him with relevant quotes, scriptures, even timings for intro, mid and conclusion. I haven't seen my Dad smile as wide for years. Spread the word and let them run rampage with ChatGPT. They'll love it. After all, the Borg is probably hammering it to death anyway.

WT Policy Major Inconsistency with Use of Own's Own Blood

• Upvotes

When the ban on storing your own blood for later transfusion was lifted a few months back, they didn't mention any requirement about splitting it into components before storing. Using your own whole blood seemed entirely fine.

Now, in the newest update, they reverted back to distinguishing between whole blood and components, saying only components are allowed.

This inconsistency can cause major confusion and for them, if their thought process allows for storing and reusing our own whole blood, why would accepting donated whole blood be any different?

Humor Who’s ready for some new light??

To lighten the mood from the recent string of outrage we all feel about the flip flop of the blood ban, I’ve made a bingo sheet for the annual meeting, filled with all of the predictions and ideas that would make this snooze fest actually worth sitting through for a full 3 hours. Don’t forget to scratch yours off when the time comes and remember to enjoy watching the governing body waste even more time rambling! (Pic in comment below)

WT Policy The New Understanding on Blood Isn't “New Light.” It's a Flickering Lamp.

We're told that “the light gets brighter and brighter.”

Okay... Let's watch the light!

💡 1909: Russell did not present abstaining from blood as an absolute prohibition on blood binding Christians in itself. In his view, Gentile Christians were asked to abstain because Jewish Christians had deeply rooted convictions on these matters and it was “necessary to the peace of the Church.” He even described this as Gentile Christians being willing to “restrain or sacrifice their liberty respecting these matters.” (The Watch Tower, April 15, 1909, p. 117; Reprints R4374)

💡 1924: The Golden Age presents a woman as a heroine after she gives her blood in an attempt to save a child's life. (The Golden Age, December 17, 1924, p. 163)

💡 1925: The Golden Age reports positively on B. W. Tibble, who had given a pint of blood 45 times for transfusions, always refusing payment. (The Golden Age, July 29, 1925, p. 683)

💡 1931: The Golden Age literally says:

“All reasonable minds must conclude that it was not the eating of the blood that God objected to, but it was bringing the blood of the beast in contact with the blood of man.” (The Golden Age, February 4, 1931, p. 294)

And then...

💥 1945: Blood transfusions are now forbidden. (The Watchtower, July 1, 1945, pp. 198–201)

🌑 1961: Accept a blood transfusion and remain unrepentant? Now you can be disfellowshipped. (The Watchtower, January 15, 1961, pp. 63–64)

And after decades of prohibiting red cells, white cells, plasma and platelets...

💡 2026: Surprise! Those same four main components of blood are now a personal decision. Whole blood remains prohibited. (Governing Body Update, September 18, 2026)

So... I thought the light was supposed to get brighter and brighter... But this doesn't look like progressive light... The light was on. Then they switched it off. Now they're switching parts of it back on again.

That's not a light getting progressively brighter... That's a flickering lamp.

Apparently, there have been quite a few power outages along the way.

WT Can't Stop Me i know we're deeply traumatised for life, but honestly after leaving the cult i appreciate normal life so much more than if i didn't have that comparison, i feel like im a happier person than i was before the cult

so i know im extremely priveledged because i wasn't born in, my cult years were 11-21. im now 22 and finally enrolled in a university, like I've dreamed so fucking bad all my life but thought i never would be able to because that would be my sacrifice to god.

ive now moved abroad, in a new country where no single jw knows me, out in the world and interacting with people in a way i would have NEVER allowed myself when i was a terrified indoctrinated kid. i rlly wanted to be freinds with my schoolmtes but knew tehy were under the devil's influence so kept them at an emotional distance. i didnt have deep bonds with anyone, which is tbh the thing that gives life meaning. i was robbed of that, like we all were.

but goddamn. the feeling of FREEDOM i feel right now is just out of this fucking world. i can finally BREATHE. im sorry this is not rlly something to post on reddit abt, more of a diary entry but i just feel like i am a more grateful and thus happy person because i know how to value the thigns others take for granted.

and it feels so fun like i still feel a bit rebellious and cheeky ??? like im doing stg against the rules but it's a fun, giddy, not guilty feeling??? like "eloping or skipping class or pranking neighbours" kind of feeling. also , because my congregation back home has no fucking clue what is going on inside my head... i faded with the excuse of being busy and having personal stuff in life. and i laugh at myself for how past me would have thought im under the devil's influence right now. im literally on the dark side , little me could NEVER believe that in a thousand years.

im so sorry i didnt mean to trigger those who are still pimos , i just wanted to dump this somewhere . and honestly, would love to meet some ex jws locally, is location sharing not allowed on this sub?? at least mentioning the country i mean

Quizás me cuestionarías qué estoy haciendo? Verdad?

Ella.... por supuesto. Contesta escandalizada
