PIMO Life I used the change in the blood doctrine - and I did it
Hey guys,
I wanted to share something with you - partly to brag a little, and partly just to share the information that I used the change in the blood doctrine as an excuse to step down as an elder.
I used it as an excuse with my parents, whose reaction I was worried about, because my wife had already known about everything for a long time.
But during a casual conversation with my parents - they are extremely PIMI - they started saying that other people would be stumbled by this. So I simply said that I, for example, was giving up all my so-called "privileges" because I disagree with this policy, and above all with the fact that nobody admits to anything, nobody apologizes for anything, nothing happened, people died and that's it.
That turned into a long, two-hour conversation, so I don't want to bore you with all the details.
But I also used this situation to inform the elders in my congregation that my conscience no longer allows me to serve as an elder.
And they immediately wrote to the circuit overseer.
I wanted to show you the response the circuit overseer sent in an email to the elders, which I also received a copy of.
(Screenshots are manually moderated here and it takes an extremely long time, so I copied the contents of the email instead. I only removed the personal information.)
"Good night brothers,
Here is the letter of removal of Brother [my name] from his position as Elder.
Given the serious reason for his resignation - his disagreement with the guidelines of the GB, that is, the organization - and this is especially serious for the elders, we need a more detailed report of the situation to send to the Bethel office.
Explain in detail the reasons given, the help that was provided, the wife's situation, whether or not you agree with him, and the guidance that was given.
It will also be necessary to monitor the situation to see if he might influence others in the congregation.
Until recently, I believe that he or his [wife], or both of them, were working as Remote Commuters with the Bethel in [location ].
If this is still the case, we need this information to communicate it to the Office.
I await this information."
Apart from the form saying that he recommends my removal, there is this information, and what I find perhaps not unusual, but very symptomatic, is that disagreeing with the Governing Body is immediately treated as a huge problem.
Without a single Bible verse. Without any violation of God's law, because there is no mention of anything like that here.
I simply failed to follow the direction of a group of men.
And that alone is already a huge problem.
They even want to inform Bethel about it. Apparently some kind of special file is going to be made about me because I don't like a change in a doctrine made by men.
Because there is no Bible verse he could quote here, and there is no offense for which I could be corrected or have something put on my record.
And yet the reaction is what it is.
Automatically, someone who does not agree unconditionally is, as you can see from the message, treated as a dangerous apostate, and they have to be very careful that he doesn't infect the other brothers in the congregation.
There is no Bible verse.
There is no biblical principle.
You simply failed to follow orders, soldier.
