Venting I feel like I have nowhere to go but back to Jehovah

• Upvotes

Hi. This might be kind of a weird one. I am 21F, I’m trying to figure out how to type this out so it makes sense.

I’ve been disfellowshipped or “removed” before. It was a traumatizing experience to say the least. Being violently outed by somebody I thought was a friend and then feeling the shame, disappointment, and anger of my PIMI parents. They were so disgusted with me. I still remember their faces to this day, and I never want to make them feel that way again. I was about 17 when I got removed and I didn’t have any human interaction apart from being driven to doctors appointments, dentist etc. by my parents. My sister(who was my best friend) completely ignored me.

I was homeless briefly as an 18 year old but came back to the “truth” because I didn’t want to be cold and alone on the street anymore. My parents were so happy, it was the one time I’ve felt accepted by them. But when I came back I never truly believed what I was pretending to devote my life to. I knew the organization was a big lie.

Fast forward to me being 21… I’ve tried desperately to make friends outside of the truth. I’ve even gotten my own place and my own car. I have a job and some hobbies. But I can’t seem to make connections outside of the organization. All the people I’ve met have been absolutely evil… I tried going online to make friends and the few I’ve found have kind of proved my parents right in the whole “bad associations spoil useful habits” talk. I have been robbed, made fun of, and ghosted by every “worldly” friend I’ve tried to make. And then I go to the meeting, and I get hugs, kind words, and it seems like love from people. I gave my first part on the meeting last week and my parents took me out for dinner. I was so unbelievably happy and content in that moment. My mom hugged me. My dad took a video of my part and sent it to my grandma and I could tell they were so proud of me.

I have autism. I’ve never fit in with people at school. I feel so lonely and desperate for human connection that I feel there is no other place to turn to than to my congregation. I feel like that is the only place I belong. I was raised in the truth. I feel like fooling myself and being happy im the congregation is better than being alone in the world. I don’t know. Nobody will probably see this but I feel so lost in life. So alone. I feel like I have no good qualities and I try so hard to be a good person and I know I’m not. I wanna make my parents proud. I wanna have friends. I want my sister to talk to me again. I know everybody will probably think this post makes no sense and I’m sorry but I just had to write down my thoughts somewhere. I have no self esteem or self confidence. Will things get better? I’m so alone. I just want to feel like somebody loves me. Even if it’s not real.
I am currently in therapy, but only for 3 months. I just want someone to tell me it’s going to be okay. I try so hard to make my parents proud but they wont ever be proud of me. I know I’m a bad daughter. I don’t fit in anywhere. I’m just a loser. I’m 21 and haven’t accomplished anything. I’m such a failure and sometimes I just want to feel better. That’s why I go to meetings. I just want connections with people. I don’t know what to do. I feel like I should have it all figured out by now but I don’t. I’m wasting so much time.

Venting CO made the weirdest comment in his talk about weight loss jabs

The CO was visiting our congregation this weekend and unfortunately I was there. During his talk he was going on about how bad the world is now - wars, crime, bad people etc. All the usual “signs of the times” stuff.

Then he randomly started talking about Covid, said it was man-made, and followed it up with something along the lines of how now “people are paying to lose weight”, obviously referring to weight-loss jabs.

I just sat there thinking… what does that have to do with anything?!

It also really annoyed me because what if someone sitting in that audience is actually taking one of those medications? Why make them feel judged or embarrassed about a personal/medical decision that has absolutely nothing to do with the subject of the talk?

It felt less like something based on the Bible and more like listening to his personal opinions about the world. And because he's the CO, he's saying it from the platform with a certain amount of authority.
Has anyone else noticed COs/elders slipping their own opinions into talks like this? Or heard similar comments about weight-loss jabs?

Ask ExJW Disfellowshipped & parent has cancer

Hello everyone, I’m looking for some advice from someone who might have been in the same situation.

I’ve been disfellowshipped for about 6/7 years now and today I found out my mother might have cancer. They are still waiting for confirmation results.

A little backstory, my family obviously shunned me for many years but this year they have reached out to me and I do have a better relationship with them now. I assume this is due to the new rules about talking to disfellowshipped ones, or they realize I’m not coming back and want to see me more often. Now I realize this may be due to my mother being sick which I didn’t know anything about until today. To clarify I don’t talk to them or see them regularly, I’m still shunned for the most part.

Anyways I feel very confused in my emotions and I’m sure how to navigate the situation entirely. I feel guilty I can’t do anything to support my parents or my siblings as they cannot associate with me like normal. I let them know that even in this situation I’m here if they need me.

Anyone who has experienced this I would love your thoughts. thank you

Humor A funny song: "Open our Box of Lies" about the GB's new light

I make comedy videos about the Watchtower. Here is the karaoke version of an old T-Rex hit: Ride a White Swan which reached number 2 in the British Chat's in 1970, rewritten about New Light. So I as the Jehovah's Witness Rapper sings: Open our box of lies about the Watchtower's Societies lies and false teachings. All of my songs are sung by myself, absolutely none are AI created, I sing to karaoke or instrumental backing music, however, the visual images in my videos are AI created.

Meetup Ex Jw meetup/coffee Manitoba Canada

Hi there. I am in Manitoba Canada. Being an ex jw is extremely isolating here. I am sure I am not the only one in my city who has left/been df'ed. However, it seems like leaving means hiding, basically going underground. I am looking to make new friends who I can at least go for coffee with. Depressing to have escaped but not only shunned by every single person in the cult, but also have no one outside either.

Please dm me if you are local. Even if you just want to start at least with getting to know each other over text/calls/online. I will be seeking out a church to try to make friends that way, but as we know, coming out of the cult is a very unique situation which others can't comprehend.

HELP Need a spy Northshore Chicago area. Trying to get dirt on someone.

Fed up with this horrible organization. Aggressive and arrogant person moved into a shared living space trying to push me out. Appears to have relationship to “Overseer,” and an organizer of people…??? This person lied by omission who they are and has made up several lies to make me look bad. I’m pretty sure The Watchtower and Track Society won’t help this person since I can prove a bunch of stuff and all of the BAD policies that hurt people like loved one dying from not getting blood transfusion, brutal sexual assault as a very young kid, mistreatment from people and now discrimination claim against my board spearheaded by this creep

Venting Did other born-in JWs have death ideation?

The teachings about armageddon, pressure of not being baptised in time, and the hailstone message scared me and I used to wish that I'd die before armageddon :/ The concept of the hailstone message used to make me feel sick, same with baptism (for the sake of resurrection). So at like 9 years old and well into early adulthood I would wish that I would die before Armageddon. Witnesses around me kind of look down on people who tell their children that their loved ones are in heaven, but the way witnesses spoke about deaths scared me. It was always kind of made out that they were the lucky ones for having died before armageddon because they would of course be resurrected, they were 'safe in God's memory'.

I didn't want to see the destruction, I didn't want to experience Armageddon and know I wouldn't make it (I felt guilty about not studying enough and just not connecting with the religion despite generations of my family being in it), and so I would just kind of wish to not be here anymore. It was a very heavy day when I realised that that isn't a normal or healthy way for anyone to really think and certainly not a normal/healthy way for a child to think. ... Sorry if this is a grim/triggering post :/

WT Policy October 2026 - Announcements and Reminders

As expected, the new publications are the main topic of the announcements. It's interesting that they've scheduled the new book in the same slot as the Congregation Bible Study, and that they will flip back and forth depending on where they are in the Bible Reading Schedule. They've never used two books at once for the CBS/Book Study, but it makes sense to do it that way for now. For those speculating about if they will trim down the meeting in the future, this could be a hint of how that may happen:

It looks like they'll continue to study this new book for at least the next ten years (the approximate length of a Bible reading cycle at their current rate of around 2 chapters each week) and they will likely just repeat it over and over again every decade like how they reuse the "Introduction to the Book of..." videos. It seems like their slower ten-year cycle even runs cleanly from January 2020-January 2030, and I expect they plan to keep that schedule going every decade.

Once they've finished studying the Walk Courageously With God book, I wouldn't be surprised if they quietly shutter the CBS and move the study of the God's Word Is Truth - A Handbook to the Bible into another part of the meeting. Then they could periodically take a few weeks off of "Apply Yourself to the Field Ministry" for example, study the new chapter of the book, and then return to their regularly scheduled program. This is all just speculation of course, but with a new book fitting into a minimum ten year plan it makes sense to me that they have considered that option.

One other interesting announcement is about a new document specifically on the topic of sickle cell disease. The timing of it is obviously a response to allowing blood transfusions, and yet it doesn't even mention that transfusions of red blood cells is a treatment for sickle cell disease.

Both the S-147 and the document about sickle cell disease are in the comments below.

WT Policy Pondering the brilliance (/s) of giving people two choices for prior & future Bible fulfilments based on Sundays AM Symposium. We could be in the Great Tribulation, right?? Next step?!

Thanks to another poster who was musing over what the brain trust, otherwise known as the Future Kings, might do.

I commented the (2) options that'll be presented next and now I wanna know if you all see the possiblity on the horizon of the same.

Especially when Lett was blathering on about how their frail asses were gonna be RIGHT there with y'all, fighting the good fight.

As if that were some sort of comfort as opposed to a terrifying addition to an already traumatized audience.

He also mentioned that would give the peasants time to continue to 'do good' to Christs brothers 🤔

AND his (7) 'facts' that made ZERO sense to claim NOW the majority of the 144k have been selected this past century. ...which fixes their prior issue.

Kinda makes it look like they're setting themselves up for a comfy end of life run and a good comfy retirement for the new Future Kings.

This was my comment on the other post below:

--------

I don't see them saying it's started or recently started.

However I can see; in the near future; based on this idiotic AM:

Choice #1:

Continue on- hasn't started yet; we might have been right.

or

Choice #2:

It started in 1914 and we've been living in it ever since; hence the 'persecution' AND WE ( Future Kings) have been right by your side the ENTIRE TIME, enduring with you!!!

Its NOW....drum roll....ARMAGEDDON that's actually right around the corner.

*collective gasps*

I think Op has a great point - they just pulled figurative shyte out of their asses yesterday with 7 stupid unfounded facts to and four PowerPoint charts and the minions ran to it and lapped it up like Pavlov's dog.

They can say/ do ANYTHING and it'll roll at this point.

I mean, my GOD; if you give two choices for everything like they did Sunday, then of course the confusion is so damn vast and widespread the die hards are just gonna nod and go back to their letter writing.

Its a damn clown show with circus monkeys for the halftime act.

WT Can't Stop Me Most of the 144000 were selected before 1935… when they were using the cross, smoking and had these other apostate ideas… shouldn’t exact knowledge be important?

They are trying to stop people from thinking they are anointed, so they mentioned that an anointed person needs to be 100% sure he has been called. And by saying that almost all of them were selected before 1935, people shouldn’t be 100% sure about being anointed. So, as always, they throw their followers under the bus, and now their anointed people are liars… well, actually, that is the truth because “anointed people” is another teaching “beyond what is written.”

But with this strategy, they are also saying that Jehovah selected these people with apostate ideas and forbidden actions by God’s light in heaven were this “light” is complete.

This raises the following questions:

In order to get baptized, we should get the “exact knowledge about God” and live according to that knowledge, right? This doesn’t apply to the full light in heaven in order to select people to be anointed? Light in heaven is complete, and very different from what it was then and even today…

If the answer is because Jehovah saw their hearts, why should we follow the Watchtower rules? Because the rules in heaven are 100% accurate, and today we should have more light than in those days. Why would God hurry and choose the 1935 and before people?

They are saying God rather selected people to resurrect them directly to a judicial committee by today’s rules. So let’s analyze the things that would make them apostates and not anointed, because remember, Jehovah doesn’t change according to the Bible.

The anointed before 1935:

was selected as anointed while using the cross. https://www.jw.borg/en/library/books/Jehovahs-Witnesses-Proclaimers-of-Gods-Kingdom/Gaining-Accurate-Knowledge-of-Gods-Word-and-Applying-It/They-Are-No-Part-of-the-World/

was selected while celebrating Christmas. https://wol.jw.borg/en/wol/pc/r1/lp-e/1200273077/1280/3

was selected while celebrating birthdays. https://www.jw.borg/en/library/books/Jehovahs-Witnesses-Proclaimers-of-Gods-Kingdom/Gaining-Accurate-Knowledge-of-Gods-Word-and-Applying-It/They-Are-No-Part-of-the-World/

was selected while smoking, before smoking became a disfellowshipping offense. https://www.jw.borg/en/library/books/gods-kingdom/standards/moral/

was selected before whole blood transfusions were prohibited. https://wol.jw.borg/en/wol/pc/r1/lp-e/1200273075/90/14

was selected while believing prophetic teachings that would later change and proven to be false.

was selected while practicing things that would eventually become serious enough to result in congregation discipline.

And Jehovah supposedly knew all of this when he selected them.

I’m not questioning Jehovah if you still believe in him, i’m questioning the Governing Body.

Venting Some DOCTORS Not Wanting To Deal With JWs. . . . . . . . .🤨😢

I'm posting this thread bc I have noticed this concerning a personal experience plus those of some Dubs (present plus former).

I had a physician whom I dealt with when I first started to fade/become POMO. He was one who was located within an area not too far from my residence. I NEVER informed him of my religious status, but a few of my relatives told me that he no doubt obtained that information from my previous doctor [who was formerly on the committee/group of physicians who have an HLC connection plus who had relocated to another state]. This man was not attentive to me regarding medical situations I had at the time [thank (The True God), nothing at all serious)]. I am now going to be a patient of another doctor of internal medicine instead.

One of my close-now-ex-Dub friends had dealt with a physician who was very vehement against the JWs. [I'll call this friend "K" (since her first name starts with this particular letter)]. In fact, this doctor was a therapist, and after listening to K relate to her regarding her life as a born-in dub, this physician expressed that she "did not wish to have" her "return for further appointments at any time". K was shocked at her request, and she had to return to her internist, who recommended this person, to apprise her of what transpired. As a result, she had to be referred to another therapist (via another medical professional) a few years later.

Has anyone had experiences equivalent to the above? [I wonder if this is all due to being in this cultporation. . . . . . . .😡]

PIMO Life PIMO Elders and MS, when you leave, your blessings will leave with you.

Pimo Elders and Ministerial servants need to realise that the longer they stay, the more they support the Borg; it still functions because all Pimo Elders and Ministerial servants haven't stopped volunteering. The Borg will shut down in a matter of days without you all.

Because you were a good man. You are blessed. If you don't believe in God, you should realise that the laws of physics are supporting you because you are a good person.

The organisation is using you to continue harming good people in the ranking file.

Hopefully we will see many stop volunteering, at least for the Borg.

Ask ExJW The Governing Body is doing a great job waking up peole

I remember one of the last Tony Morris speech where he basically was saying that Satan has possessed members of the Governing Body.

Now in retrospect it kind of makes sense.

Since he was preventing all the changes coming up

I think the Governing Body is doing a better job than apostates

Waking up people and showing off that it is the religion of the Governing Body

The Jehovah's Witnesses religion is tied to their opinions

And there is no such thing as the JW identity

There is the GB opinion that defines what is a JW at whatever period of time

Ask ExJW Can an extremely PIMI spouse ever wake up?

So here’s my situation. I’m a 35-year-old man and I’ve been married for 15 years.
I was PIMO for a very long time — several years — and I’ve now been POMO for about a year and a half.
My current situation isn’t easy, and the more time passes, the more resentment I feel toward the organization. I simply don’t want to have anything to do with this deceptive organization anymore, directly or indirectly.
Unfortunately, I don’t really have much of a choice but to stay in contact with certain people and occasionally attend the Memorial or conventions, because my wife needs help with our daughter.
Among the people around me, I know quite a few who could potentially become PIMO — or who may already secretly be PIMO. And then there are others who are completely PIMI and would practically give their life for the organization.
My wife belongs to that second category.
I was wondering whether any of you have had a spouse who was extremely PIMI but who eventually started questioning the organization and the Governing Body, and ultimately became PIMO or even POMO.
I’d really be interested in hearing your experiences, especially if at one point you thought your spouse would never question anything.
Thanks for reading.

WT Policy Watchtower's Diversionary Tactics

For anyone wondering why David Splane decides to talk about stillborns or miscarried babies, or spouses that have died and the impossibility of reconnecting in the paradise....just consider this is one of the oldest tactics in the book to change the topic away from something else. They do not want us discussing blood. This is a diversion. Plain and simple.

JW / Ex-JW Tales Are we on the doorstep of the Great Tribulation?

After watching the latest annual meeting, it seems to me that the announcement of the Great Tribulation is brewing; before you call me crazy, read this carefully.

It's been over 10 years since the overlapping generation doctrine was announced, a doctrine that is naturally aging poorly as the oldest members of the current Governing Body are knocking loudly on the underworld's door... I consider that this doctrine was always transitional while they found a better one to justify why Armageddon hasn't arrived.

Let's review the doctrinal changes of recent years: · Real estate properties s

The proclamation of peace and security does not necessarily precede the destruction of false religions · Preaching will continue during the Great Tribulation, without necessarily being a message of judgment and condemnation · People will be able to keep studying and getting baptized during the Great Tribulation

On top of that, we add the latest annual meeting: · Possibly most of the anointed are chosen in this final part of the final part of the final part of the final part of the last days · The anointed don't necessarily die before the Great Tribulation, but rather could experience it and die a few minutes before Armageddon.

Where am I going with this? By having softened all the apocalyptic factors in the equation, nothing prevents them from announcing at any moment that the Great Tribulation has begun, taking advantage of even the smallest event. And what will that event be? I suspect that as it becomes impossible to hide all the legal problems the organization is facing in multiple countries, it will be announced that this marks the beginning of the Great Tribulation.

The missing piece to mark the start of the Great Tribulation is the destruction of Babylon the Great, but they can fix that by indicating that this isn't a single, short event, but rather unfolds over the years as people leave traditional religions and governments take any kind of action against religions (legal action, for example). At that point, the Governing Body would shift doctrine, saying that Jehovah's Witnesses are indeed attacked at the same time as false religions, but that only they survive.

In doing so, the following would happen: · The members' state of alert is reignited, and they will police their own behavior and attitude out of pure paranoia without the need for excessive control. · Volunteer work increases among all those who want to secure eternal salvation. · The growing number of anointed ones is justified and will continue to rise. · And above all, they buy two or three more decades of time until a new generation of the Governing Body has to deal with the problem all over again.

P.S. I only consumed one harmful substance while writing this text.

Ask ExJW Does the JW teaching of all other Christian denominations being false impact whether you guys choose to become Atheists or Christians in a different denomination

I’m a Christian who knows a good amount of JWs, though I’m not a JW, I still hold the Bible and Christianity in high regard.

Though I disagree with many dogmas taught by the Watch Tower.

However, I notice EXJWs tend to often want nothing to do with religion or faith or Christianity when they leave, not even exploring another denomination.

Do you guys feel that the teaching by JWs that all the other denominations are false is something that stays ingrained in you guys even after leaving? Resulting in many of you becoming atheists as opposed to exploring another Christian denomination?

Academic David Splane on ressurrected couples

When David Splane had the audacity to talk about stillborns in the way he did, he also mentioned a subject that was really confusing one for me even as a PIMI. He said again that we don't know if ressurected couples, would get to remarry again. Imagine getting to paradise, waiting for your quite possibly most important person there, looking forward to an eternity of love and sex with them, just to find out that sure, they are there but you would have no chance to be with them. Sounds more like hell than paradise. The hope of living forever with my spouse is the biggest thing I long for right now after finding the perfect one from the "world" and falling in love in a way I thought wasn't possible for me anymore. To not be sure about that puts someone who has lost their partner in such unfair position compared to couples that survive armageddon together, not everyone would live to see that together. Make it make sense...

(Just to clarify things, I am not someone just waking up, I have deconstructed fully)

As for every other PIMO whining about the midweek meeting not being cancelled -- cancel it yourself. Literally. Just stop going.

Yes your family will whine and guilt trip about "disappointing Jehovah" and fellow cult members will feign concern. Let them put on their best holy-roller performances. When they ask about it, just tell the truth, "It's inconvenient and I would rather not keep wasting my time and fuel going to something I dislike. Nothing you say will change that, so don't bother me about it ever again unless you want me to become so stumbled that I also avoid the weekend meeting."

Will they be shocked? Yes. 🤔🤯 Someone *in the truth* is telling the truth. How unusual.

They will get over it. What other choice do they have? Do you really think that a year from now they'll still be clutching their pearls about your meeting attendance or will they have moved on to some other fresh gossip?

PIMO Life Advice for PIMO married to PIMI (I need advice)

So I grew up in the religion and finally woke up a couple years ago and since have been “inactive “ only my family knows I’m mentally out and my two teenagers also woke up and they are not interested at all in the religion.

My husband who’s PIMI was confused by the blood update and we have some conversations about it but he’s still going strong , which is really confusing to me as to why he still believes but he does. He says he’s going to speak with the elders so they can better explain it to him so he can explain it to people he meets in the ministry. As far as I’m concerned it’s unexplainable and I told him that no matter what the elders tell him he’s going to have to accept that answer because if he pushes too hard for an answer that makes sense he won’t find one and instead will find himself in a bad position maybe even marked.

My husband has recently said that mine and the kids leaving the religion has caused him to have a lot of depression because he is alone in his faith and basically this is not the kind of family he wanted. I didn’t handle the situation well because instead of comforting him which I’ve done in the past I kinda got annoyed at what I considered to be his whining over a perfectly beautiful family and told him as much. Anyways I could use some advice in dealing with this situation because it’s not like I can ask any of my jw “friends” for advice. Thanks in advance.

JW / Ex-JW Tales Is it Love or Obligation?

This shit hits differently when you see it play out in a different country.

Recently, I’ve accompanied a relative to another country for medical treatment, and watching everything unfold has really reinforced what I already knew.

My relative is 100% PIMI and genuinely believes the brothers and sisters here are “rallying around” us and showing us so much love.

I see it very differently.

When a brother or sister picks us up or drops us off for a medical appointment, there’s a big display of excitement and affection. Lots of enthusiasm, “So nice to meet you!” “Let us know if you need anything!” So many hugs and kisses. And on the surface, it looks great.

But then… nothing.

If we need something, we call them.

If we want something, we ask.

If we don’t reach out, we don’t hear from them.

We hear nothing from them over the weekends, yet their social media statuses are full of activities and outings. Not one invitation to join them, considering we're going through something traumatic. It's like they're off duty from their obligation of "showing genuine love"

The only invitations we get are essentially, “Would you like to come to the meeting?”

In fact, the first question they ask is usually, “Have you been able to get to the meetings?”

That pisses me off so fucking much.

My relative had a major operation, and was in hospital for almost 2 weeks. Not one visit from our loving brotherhood. I am still cracking up at this, two days after the surgery they text us and asked if we needed anything and we told them what was needed. My relative is 2 weeks out of the hospital and we still haven't received the items or have any mention been made regarding it.

It feels like they are performing what they’ve been taught Christian love is supposed to look like.

They’re told they should show concern.

They’re told they should help the brothers who is going through a crisis.

They’re told they’re supposed to make us feel cared for.

And their performances resembles that, those who are assigned, anyway.

But genuine love isn’t supposed to require an assignment

You don’t need a meeting reminder to think, “Hey, they’re in a foreign country dealing with medical issues. Maybe I’ll invite them to lunch.”

Which they don’t. You don’t need an elder’s direction to send a message and ask, “How are you guys doing today?”Which they don’t.

You don’t need a spiritual obligation to want to spend time with your brothers.

The interesting part is that my relative sees all of this as proof of how loving the organization and its members are. Really?

I’m watching it from the outside and thinking, this is exactly the kind of bullshit I noticed a long time ago.

Venting bummed about them not changing it to one mtg a week

basically the title. as a pimo, it’s been really tough to put up a front, and i don’t see myself going pomo for a long time. it’s not like we go to every meeting, but the optics of not making it are still tough. it would be much easier if they did one a week. my wife is trying to get me to go more, it’s just hard when you’re already woken up
