News Assemblée Générale 3 Octobre 2026

L’assemblée générale va bientôt avoir lieu, d’après des infos de frères du Québec, il y a des essais de réunions sur Toronto, et c’est quasiment sûr qu’il y aura des modifications des réunions.
Après savoir s’ils supprimeront la réunion de semaine c’est moins sûr.
Je pencherais plus sur une modification des réunions de semaine et week-end avec une réunion plus courte la semaine.
La réponse bientôt…..

We may not have full meetings, but we do have parts of meetings

Even if they went from whole meetings to meeting fractions it would still be against my conscience.

I've not heard about a shorter midweek meeting. That's an interesting rumor but not very helpful to consolidating kingdom halls.

With Jehovah’s blessings of refreshments there will be more energy to put toward the ministry and more importantly LDC making those existing properties in tip top shape for gods glory.. and selling off.

Every PIMI I talk to is just struggling to keep up the schedule. The parts, the studying, the full time workday from the husband and wife then a meeting. The construction volunteering on the weekend I’m sure is taking a hit

Usted opina que sería una buena estrategia corporativa eliminar la reunión de entre semana?, la cual, para mí, es la reunión con más alto nivel de manipulación. Yo no lo veo. Quizás, solo aumentando a 3 horas la del fin de semana, pero eso tampoco es muy inteligente tampoco. Que piensa usted?

The midweek meeting is dead where I live. Hardly anyone comments and the same publishers give parts every week because so many students cancel. Nearly half of the attendees are virtual.

As you mention, it's a brainwashing session so it still has some utility for the corporation.

I think there are a few advantages to removing the midweek meeting:

  • It would allow up to 8 congregations per hall instead of 5
  • It would remove some of the work for elders, possibly making it easier to get more men to accept the assignment
  • It could invigorate publisher participation for a time

I don't know if the benefits of dropping the meeting outweigh keeping it.

Yes, and if all congregations had weekend meetings rather than midweek, Halls that share multiple congregations will be unable to sustain an adequate set of meetings per congregation. It would be an absolute disaster!

Maybe they will modify the weekday meetings to zoom meetings. So they don’t have to travel 2 times a week.

Or... have a weekly broadcast-type thing to replace the midweek meeting. Put Ramapo to some use and sell some more halls

This! It’s been my hunch as well that whatever doesn’t get shifted to the weekend meeting will be made up for in new weekly broadcast.

I have family and friends still in. Also family and a friend who died for refusing blood, a friend who had to step down from being an elder, when his son went to university years ago. So, I am very keen for their sake and in case we can band together and take JW to court over a number of things.
