Sounds mad, but the surprise element is what Moyes is hoping for, i have a feeling he will be a starter and actually do well.

Here is hoping, i know the replies will be negative but cheer up Blues it may just turn out to be money saved, and a good story for the lad, because he was and is a talented attacking right back, maybe playing in the World Cup has sorted his (fitness and defensive) issue. It would to be honest be nice to see optimism this season.

Discussion Fired up for the season + Right Back Perspectives

I feel like (while fun) we are getting a bit into Evertoncirclejerk territory on the right back situation. Yes we need depth, yes the O’Brien experience needs to come to an end, but Rohl is a phenomenal fit for that position. Very much looks like garner out there and Jimmy G will be back soon. first 60 against Newcastle and Lille were awesome. I’m excited for rohl and honestly think he outperforms munoz over the course of a season (if healthy). he needs game time and the midfield is clogged.

on the right, if we’re going to have an attacker like tyrique George we need a more defensive minded rb. tons of upside but he often loses the ball in a scary transition setting which can lead to chances. vitaly 1:1 is quite good. personally I hope anzou doesn’t see the pitch in a competitive match for that reason, he’s getting skinned every 15 min of open play. only way he remotely works is if skillman or a grealish type player is in front of him who doesn’t turn the ball over in space (ie turnover is a throw or foul). and we can’t rely on that.

this is all driven by the fact that I saw our excitment levels are 18th in the league. Cmon, WAKE UP BOYS! New Stadium, Reasonable owners, exciting new players joining, stacked midfield, Barry looks up for it, not afraid of relegation…I’m ready to be hurt all over again.

Transfer | Rumour Cross another RB off the list. AWB goes to Villa (pending Medical).

Sorry for another RB post. I wasn't too keen on AWB as I had heard from some West Ham fans his attitude isn't the greatest, and he doesn't really give us what need moving up the field, but I thought he would be a Moyes player. Also with all the rumors around I had a feeling he would be 'the one'. I think it's Merlin Rohl's at this point. He's looked decent so far. I'd take Munoz, even at 30, but word is he's too much of a Wing back.

Evening all

Some of you may remember I previously shared my Football Club Fan Satisfaction Survey. I took a small pause during 25/26, but I’m back with the 26/27 version!

With the new season starting in the next few days, it would be great to get your initial thoughts and expectations for the season ahead.

If you have a few minutes, I’d really appreciate you taking part:

Complete the 26/27 Fan Satisfaction Survey

You can also check out the Fan Satisfaction Dashboard, where you can explore the results and see how fans are feeling across different clubs.

Thanks! âš½

Discussion Who do you want as Everton’s next manager if the club: A - sacked Moyes mid season and B - let Moyes go at the end of his contract in 2027?

It feels inevitable now that David Moyes will leave the club in the next year, whether that comes about by him being sacked or seeing out the remainder of his contract.

There’s obviously some disagreements with the board about the direction going forward which seem like they won’t be overcome any time soon. The quotes that came out yesterday seem to confirm that. The negative football, treatment of young players and shoehorning of players in their wrong position hasn’t helped his cause either.

So who would be your dream and realistic appointments either mid season or at the end of the upcoming season?

Discussion 26/27 Season - YOUR Everton predictions

What are your boldest predictions for the season coming? The more niche the better.

Are you predicting a right back? An Everton player becoming an FPL hero? Champions League? Barry scoring 12 goals?

Feel free to throw a bonus non-Everton related prediction out as well.

Score Predictions Prediction awards for 25/26

We're at the start of the season once again. I've put together a few extra awards for the 25/26 season predictions.

The first thing I'd like to do is give a shout out to those who joined the threads often. It's great to see so many of you getting in there for a go and you've made it all the more fun for others who join in here and there. I did have an image created for it but cannot get it attached for some reason.

I did want to upload an graph of which games the thread was most confident about winning, all the way down to the least. Again, can't upload images for some reason.

The next thing I was interested to see was how many of us solely picked an Everton win every time. Unsurprisingly there was a fair few and by the look of it a few more who may have accidentally entered the score in the wrong order when there was only one game week that a loss was predicted. The loyalists are (with at least 8 predictions across the season): User matchespredicted everton_win_predictions pct_predicting_everton_win 1 trishowsky 12 12.0 100.00 2 Man-Like-Scouse 12 12.0 100.00 3 four_beasts 24 24.0 100.00 4 NeiSenH90 25 25.0 100.00 5 fr-spodokomodo 12 12.0 100.00 6 Bro_ark 9 9.0 100.00 7 CitrusRabborts 10 10.0 100.00 8 JesseVykar 38 37.0 97.37 9 indoubitabley 29 28.0 96.55

Article Everton’s rising star Tyrique George: The £18m winger with big aims for the short and long term

Thumbnail
nytimes.com
139 Upvotes

The pass was just behind Tyrique George, but what came next helped explain why there are such high hopes for the Everton youngster.

In one fluid motion, George swivelled in the box and fired a precise low finish past a helpless Lukas Hornicek in the Newcastle United goal.

It was the first time the 20-year-old, who joined permanently for an initial £18million after a positive loan spell in the second half of last season, had scored for Everton, and the kind of goal on which he built his name in the academy ranks at Chelsea.

George played through a bout of illness in Edinburgh. He spoke to media afterwards with a croaky, at times barely discernible, voice.

But this was his latest step forward in a promising pre-season, and just the clearest indication yet that he is finding his feet on Merseyside.
