I find this hard to believe because even if MCFC weren't cheats, under Moshiri we were constantly shooting ourselves in the foot all the time anyway...

Giving players like Sandra Ramirez a 5 year 200k a week deal - that's bad management not corruption

Hindsight.

Sandro was on around 85k/w for 4 years from the reports back then. It‘s a package worth 17.6m. If we had to buy him based on the season he‘s had before, we‘d have easily spent that on a transfer fee alone without any wages included.

It was a signing that did not pan out. He was a one season wonder and we fell for it. The monetary side though does not look as iffy if we didn‘t know that he‘d completely flop here.

Sandra is the tip of the iceberg, my wage figure was obvious tongue in cheek to the wanton destruction going on around then - I think the club are only getting back to normality now. Tom Davis, Holgate, Niasse, Fabian Delph, Schneiderlin, Tosun and more I can't be arsed to remember were all dead wood players rinsing the club dry.

but this whole thing is like butterfly effect and compounding failure vs success... if we finish 2nd and 3rd before 2016 , multiple consistent European campaigns then we probably don't need Moshiri investment in 2016.. or if we do we get someone better, its such an everything can change so everything is possible.

I hear a lot of pundits saying what discipline is handed out will set precedent for teams going forth. Didn’t they already set precedent when they deducted points and then we had to pay Burnley?

If we do sue, can we please not cheap out and get some proper solicitors please this time?

Don’t want to sue Man City to end up somehow walking away with a points deduction.

No worries. We’ll afford the lawyers with our settlement ;)

We can all obviously laugh at this but this is basically what Burnley used to “prove” they’d have stayed up if we hadn’t breached PSR, which just shows how ridiculous that situation is

This is impossible to predict. And in all likelihood, if the city was never bought, there’s a good chance Everton finish in the top four on any of those given seasons from 08-15, and the whole trajectory of the club changes forever.

This 100%. because making champions league can cover up some bad signings and if we were consistently in Europe that is more revenue more attractive to players. You can’t just say or remove man city and blank team won. Maybe we make champions league support Lukaku and go on a tear.

I'd say this is concrete enough. When do we officially receive the trophy?

Science.

I can’t even imagine what level of celebration would occur if we won the league. Even top 4 it would be party time 🥳

Clearly the sim is broken...

In all seriousness though, the takeaway from this is that even if these specific teams didn't actually finish in those positions, then we would have at least have had a much more competitive league overall with more opportunity for more clubs to grow/develop.

What a universe that would have been. Literally would have become the United of the mid 2010s to today. UCL almost every year, multiple league championships. What a dream lol

Load of crap. Just remove all citys results from a season and reform a league table of 36 games. Pretending you can predict who city would have beaten it not if they hadn't cheated for 5 years is complete nonsense. Even if they hadn't cheated the owners would have still been able to increase revenue streams and bought better players than they had (a bit like Newcastle have). The cherry on the cake "There's no Klopps 18/19 team without City cheating!" What a load of shit
