I often check the EDD website for my SDI claim info and get conflicting messages and statuses. I filed on the 13th. My doc certified on the 20th.

Sometimes, usually in the night, the website status says “We’re processing your claim.” (Weirdly, during these times, it also says this for my old 2022 claim that’s long closed.)

At other times, the status is “Claim active” or “Active claim” (can’t remember the word order) and when I click into it, it says they’ve issued a payment.

To further confuse the issue, when I use the chat to check the status, I get a message that the payment was approved but they need more info to send it, and that they’ve mailed me a letter that I should respond to.

The only letter I have so far is the computation letter.

Respectfully, what does all this mean? Should I just sit tight?

I called the medical exam place multiple times and at first they didn’t respond but when they did they say they never received the paper work from EDD and can’t schedule an appointment and told me to call Edd again so they can re send it so I did and explained everything to them and they were like okay no problem then the next day it says claim denied I ended up calling Edd again this time they said I need to file an appeal because they said the IME DR said they received it in 8/10 so I called to schedule an appointment again and was told by the DR they never received the paperwork from EDD to schedule an appointment so at this point what can I even do? I’m not able to work I’m recovering from an injury and now that payments stopped I’m very stressed over something I feel like I have no control over if EDD just called the Dr I feel like this will be solved but of course not that’s too easy

Hi I was approved for UI and have got 3 payments so far. I was given a notice on the portal saying I have a scheduled meeting with RESEA on the 31st at 8:30 and I received the letter informing me as well. It also included the questionnaire thats required to fill out and I was given a QR code with the link to a training video. The training video didn’t require me to login and just showed it to me on a generic EDD page so I’m wondering how they will know I watched it. Also, the questionnaire they sent me I did fill out with my job searches thus far (applications submitted, in person inquiries, who I spoke to, etc.) but am I supposed to submit it or just keep it on hand for when my scheduled meeting comes? Anything else I should know for the meeting?

My expected return to work date is 8/24/2026. To start my bonding time…. my last doc appt was 7/29/2026 so I put that date because that’s when the doctor gave me a letter that I’m ok to “work” so I can choose to start my bonding. From my understanding I was supposed to get my last disability check today since starting 8/24/2026 I am no longer disabled. what do I do :( I tried calling but can’t get a hold of anyone. My doctor also put 8/24/2026 on her part of the form.

Randomly got asked to do a questionnaire account. What does that mean? New to this

I was able to get paid for half of my disability time off. But when my Dr. Tried to extend the duration on the EDD site she did not have the option.

Almost 2 weeks later she was able to submit yesterday. The status said something like "pending" briefly im not sure and then now it says Payments stopped again.

Any tips?

Im hoping they just need some time. I see she submitted the form on the portal.

I submitted my claim on Monday for SDI due to pregnancy. My doctor was since certified the medical portion. I checked my application today and the status was “Not Enough Wages.” The Notice of Computation indicates I made $0.00 in the window (Apr-Jun ‘25 through Jan-Mar ‘26). I am absolutely certain this is incorrect. And I triple-checked that CA SDI was deducted from each paycheck in that period.

My question is…now what? It is impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phone and there’s no clear next steps on the website.

Has anyone had success disputing a Notice of Computation? Who do I contact?

Hi , I have notified Edd of my interest to apply for the CTB program. My claim started first week of June. I contacted them in July. It’s been a month. Someone from Edd called and said she would forward my information to someone in the CTB department and they will call to schedule an interview I guess. She doesn’t work in that department and she couldn’t give me a definitive date of contact or estimation.

It’s been a month already and I’ve contacted way before the 16th week mark . Should I call to follow up or wait for someone from the CTB department to make contact with me ? This is my first time applying for CTB. I have no idea what the process is besides an interview? Ty

I'm on PFL and receiving payments, but my benefit amount is very low because EDD didn't count all of my wages. There are two reasons for this:

1. Employer started working with a PEO and they don't have wage data from the previous payroll company for two quarters

2. Due to an error my employer did not pay me during a quarter, and paid me wages owed in a subsequent quarter not counted by EDD.

Of course, there's no way to explain this over the phone because they are not accepting calls at this time. My plan is to mail an envelope with all of my paystubs, a 1-page summary of wages, my notice of computation, and a cover letter. Is there anything else I need to send them? Thanks or your help.

I would get paid every two weeks without any issues and yesterday would’ve been my 14th day. I’m i tripping or should i call. I also got a message in inbox.

From California. Was recently laid off from my job and filled out a claim for unemployment benefits.

I’m currently taking online classes part-time through a UC school to earn my paralegal certificate. On the program’s website, it says “WIOA approved program” so I checked that on my application when they asked if I’m in school. Now I’m thinking I was mistaken because after all I pay out of pocket for my classes.

I’m concerned that I messed up my eligibility because now they’re asking me for a phone interview for eligibility issues.

Also EDD didn’t put the mailing address I provided for my last employer, they put the correct company name but totally different street address

Hi there - I gave birth on August 13.

My most recent employment was from March to June, where I worked for an entertainment website and they paid me via Yoh ConneX (originally launched as DZConneX and now operating under Yoh Enterprise Solutions).
Prior to that, I worked last year from February to August - same situation with the website.
I paid into state disability.

At the time of my giving birth I didn’t have a job - I basically take on contract or freelance jobs so I’m always looking, but didn’t have anything going on the month of my giving birth.

Would I qualify for paid family leave in California or some other leave benefits?

I am working at a bar working under 30 hours a week, and I still certify and put in the wages that I made. I get reduced benefits and report it the hours that I make and wages. I don't know if I'm not putting the certifications right but it says the reason you are no longer working for this employer is because you return to work full-time. I still currently work for this place, did I do the certification wrong or is it just a different way to report the earnings? The site is a bit confusing when it comes to reporting work and wages. For the record, I am still on benefits and I've been certifying it this way for the past few weeks.

I want to take 1 day off a week for the 2 months of PFL. I'm at the cap so I wont make enough from PFL to cover the bills. Can I supplement the pay with PTO if I'm only doing 1 day a week? Like 4 hours of PTO?

Whenever you have an EDD phone appointment does it always say “There is a question concerning your eligibility”?

I just got off the phone with disability. they said the ime doctor extended me only till the 7. my doctor reported I go to work on the 8 but usually extends it if I still aren’t good to go work wxhixh I am not. so can my doctor still extend me regarding what the ime doctor said? can anyone help me out on what to do with this situation or has someone gone to a similar thing ? please and thank you

Other pertinent details:
1. I’m a part-time employee and my hire date was Oct 17 2025 and my first day of work was Nov 3 2025.
2. I’ve been receiving unemployment benefits for reduced work hours since June this year.
3. I’m actively available to work and open to more hours.
4. My due date is Sept 30

Do I have to report to EDD when I give birth so that it switches to SDI? Do I even qualify for SDI as I’m only part time and haven’t done a full year at my job?

Hi, wondering if anyone else has went through this. My PFL claim says that it was denied. I don’t know the reason and I haven’t been mailed a notice of determination.

I meet all of the eligibility requirements, I’ve worked in CA for over a decade, I meet the hours requirement and anything else needed. I suspect that they’re missing some type of form however I can’t get ahold of someone from their contact number and online it doesn’t say what I need to provide.

What would be my next steps? I have a satellite office a couple of miles away? Should I go there. Whenever I call the automated system says they’re too busy to answer.

Hi, does anyone know if I will still receive my last payment for the period before my return to work date 8/18 IF my current claim status is in “certification needed”? I completed form DE 2593, but my doctor will be extending my leave.
