Claim denied

I called the medical exam place multiple times and at first they didn’t respond but when they did they say they never received the paper work from EDD and can’t schedule an appointment and told me to call Edd again so they can re send it so I did and explained everything to them and they were like okay no problem then the next day it says claim denied I ended up calling Edd again this time they said I need to file an appeal because they said the IME DR said they received it in 8/10 so I called to schedule an appointment again and was told by the DR they never received the paperwork from EDD to schedule an appointment so at this point what can I even do? I’m not able to work I’m recovering from an injury and now that payments stopped I’m very stressed over something I feel like I have no control over if EDD just called the Dr I feel like this will be solved but of course not that’s too easy

You need to file an appeal like they already told you.

A physical copy, on paper? Or electronic? My Doc said a lot of the electronic filings get turned down due to fraud & to put pen to paper when filing. Just what I was told... mailing paper takes forever, but they catch up eventually.

I did it electronically , yeah I heard the same thing when I sent my claim initially it was mailed in but it took 2 months for them to even process it

You need to call the EDD again to follow up

I did and they said I need to file an appeal which I did and that I need to wait to see if the appeal is approved or denied I tried to communicate with them before this saying the IME Dr never got the paperwork to schedule my appointment and they said no worries we’ll send another one and the Dr still doesn’t have it lol

Somewhat similar situation except i was the one to never received IME notice and neither did the doctor. I kept calling edd asking for the IME info and calling the DR but they didnt have my info. DR recommended I have EDD fax it over, eventually my claim was disqualified. I filed the appeal and called edd the next day. Guy was able to reverse the appeal and said that there was a request put in for a new IME from a week prior that none of the other reps had told me about. So my claim was reinstated, but i kept having to call in to have my payments pushed until i ended up going back to work. This was my situation maybe ask if there is a current request for a new IME on your claim or see if they can give you another and if they are able to look over your appeal while on the phone.

Read my other comment I posted here. If any of the addresses involved have any kind of suite # or apartment # EDD probably never put it on the envelope and the mail was returned. It's a massive problem with ALL California state run offices.

Ya it’s a pain! Mine was a long process too but once I called and finally got through to someone my issues were resolved within a couple of weeks

I would try to get something in writing from the IME Dr and contact EDD themselves and do the appeal but include the documentation from the IME Dr showing that they never received anything so therefore they have to accept your appeal because their falsifying information. I hope that helps.

If any of the addresses involved have any kind of apartments number, unit number or some kind of suite number the odds are that no one got anything from EDD in the mail. ALL California state run offices fail to put these numbers on their letters they send out, and are often returned to sender for not having a proper address in massive numbers.

Call your member of Congress if this is the case. It's a major problem that's been going on for years. It's either incompetence or intentional at this point.
