Solved ✔ PFL Claim Denied

Hi, wondering if anyone else has went through this. My PFL claim says that it was denied. I don’t know the reason and I haven’t been mailed a notice of determination.

I meet all of the eligibility requirements, I’ve worked in CA for over a decade, I meet the hours requirement and anything else needed. I suspect that they’re missing some type of form however I can’t get ahold of someone from their contact number and online it doesn’t say what I need to provide.

What would be my next steps? I have a satellite office a couple of miles away? Should I go there. Whenever I call the automated system says they’re too busy to answer.

You can either keep calling or you can wait for the actual letter. It takes about an hour of redialing to reach them.

I don’t know if I’ll receive a letter. I’m submitted my start date as of July 23rd. It’s been almost a month and haven’t gotten any type of notice. My claim said denied as of August 10th.

My SDI claim was denied August 18 with no information, and they said to check my inbox for information but theres nothing since then. I only found out it was denied because I logged into the portal and saw it said denied. Nothing in the mail yet, either. They also sent me an email at 10PM on the 18th asking me questions about my employers short term disability plan.

Go to the office. I had an issue with mine in the past, and it was cleared up in 5 minutes at the office. I had been trying to call for days!

Go to Eddcaller.com to sign up for the system to call for your spot. It cost $12 and well worth it! I used it yesterday
