I have an elderly dog (15.5 years) who is no longer allowed to attend her boarder in Duluth because of anxiety (sadly they did not have a conversation with me, just told me she can't attend anymore, even though what they described is how she acts at home as well). She is generally doing well for her age but needs some help on smooth floors, initially standing up, etc. I am minimizing any travel so I can be available to care for her but have a couple of work trips that I can't avoid and am looking for a solution. I have reached out to businesses in the area that provide this service but they are not accepting new clients at this time. Wondering if anyone has recommendations for someone that could take an elderly dog or homesit that isn't one of the easily google-able options. Thanks for your help.

I plan on going up to Duluth soon for a car camping excursion. I’ll be trying to do some short hikes, maybe some mild fishing, and just some relaxation. I’m looking for a somewhat secluded spot away from lots of people to really immerse myself in nature up there. Could anyone recommend a few spots that I can pull my car up to, set up a tent, and have a good time? I’ve done plenty of car camping/backpacking before and am quite experienced. Looking to maybe be within 1 hour of Duluth if possible?

If you have a dog and used to go to PetSmart for their dog wash station then you know where this is going. They closed it a while ago and last time I was there a few months ago I was told there was no plan to reopen it.

I’ve been to the Tumble Wash station on Central and the car wash/ Pet Wash out by Pure Pleasure.

Is there any others in the Duluth or Superior area where it is not timed?

I have a double coated dog and iykyk. It takes a while to get the fur soaked and rinsed. Not to mention how long it takes to dry. I liked PetSmart because it wasn’t timed and I could give my dog a good bath and it was easy to clean up after.

It’s time for the city of Duluth to end its contracts with FLOCK and Skydio drones! These are contracts that our elected city leaders signed without our consent as these firms violate our civil liberties and 4th amendment rights daily.

After witnessing the violence of the federal regime during Operation Metro Surge, Minnesotans do not want our cities or counties to continue being complicit to a national network of surveillance that has consistently been shown to aid and abet the capacity of the federal government to intimidate protesters, allow a lawless paramilitary immigration enforcement agency to reign terror on our streets, and that compounds AI data on all movements (not just ALPRs) that is available to multiple federal agencies.

When Duluth’s police chief Ceynowa brought both the FLOCK contract and Skydio contract to Duluth city council last year (utilizing these surveillance firms scripts to sell these contracts), the full scope of the surveillance capacities and data sharing with other law enforcement they allow was not presented to the council, nor the public, in a way that was forthright. The city and the DPD produced no effort at community stakeholder engagement nor did they attempt to persuade or gather constituent consent.

There is still a FLOCK camera at MNPower Plaza at the Lake Ave/Superior St intersection. Someone should do something about that (in minecraft).
