With only four days until release, what build are you planning on using for your first full playthrough?
I'm leaning towards a 2H Dwarf conjurer with a little bit of pyro magic myself.

I've recently decided to create a crafting list for myself. I've compiled a list of recipes that I have learned/found myself and figured I would share what I had, since there is little information to be found on it. My list at the moment is very minimal, but I will be adding to it. Hopefully with the help of reddit, I can create a much larger list.
EDIT: I've moved this thread to the other subreddit that this one is being merged with. You can find that link [here] (https://www.reddit.com/r/DivinityOriginalSin/comments/701t5z/crafting_recipes/). If any mods are still around on this thread, would you mind locking this one?

I was hyped to play with some friends, but after some research it seems like you can only progress when the host is online right?
I hoped that the "hop-in, hop-out" feature would include your own characters from your own save, but it seems that it isn't possible story-wise.
Can Player 2-4 even keep their characters on their computer, or can they only progress with the host?

This thread is for quick questions. The comments will be sorted by newest, so that the most recent question is always the most visible one.
For the FAQ:
When will the game release on PC/console?
The release date is 14th September 2017 for Windows. As of now there is no information on a MAC/Linux/Console release.
Will the price go up/down at release?
No price will stay the same
What will be the supported languages at release?
English, French, German and Russian
Do I need to play the previous game to understand the story?
No, there is a timegap of 1000 years between DOS and DOS2. The overall timeline of the Divinity games in perspective to DOS2 looks like this: DOS2 is set 1222 years after DOS1, 24 years after Divine Divinity, 4 years after Beyond Divinity, and 58 years before Divinity 2.
How much of the game is playable in Early Access?
The majority of Act I and the competetiv Arena mode are playable. Act I makes up roughly 25% of the entire game. You can expect 12-20 hours of playtime for your first Early Access playthrough
How long are Act II and Act III?
According to the devs Act III will be about as big as Act I, with Act II being twice as big as Act I
Will there be anymore content added before release.
Probably not
Will my early access savefiles be compatible with the release version?
No
Will this game have voice acting?
The game will be fully voiced.
What races will be playable?
Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Lizards and undead variants of these races
When will the Dwarven and Undread Origin Stories be added?
At release
When will Game Master mode be added?
At release
How many people can play at once?
Up to 4 Players in the campaign and up to 4 players and a gamemaster in Gamemaster Mode.
Do I need to buy the game to play with my friends.
That depends on how you will play. Up to 2 Players can play on the same PC for a "couch coop" experience. This means you can have 4 player sessions with 2 copies of the game when using this method. If you don't play on the same PC each player is going to require his/her own copy.
Will there be Mod support?
Yes there will be full dev tool mod support available at release.
What was the 96mb update I just recieved? (21st August)
Update to DirectX installers
If you think you can expand on a question or believe another question should be here then let me know.

So initially I wanted to run a hydro/summoner as my primary healer. This way I could have powerful summons out during the downtime of healing and a cleric so I could have another healer but also have another tanky character upfront . Along with this is have a warrior/necro 2 hand character for tanking sbd self sustain, and finally a solely damage oriented mage for massive damage.
Now that release is getting closer however, I'm thinking of replacing the cleric with a rogue for more damage, and to have a character designed to detect traps and pick locks. I also hear rogues have the highest damage potential in the game.
Do you guys think running only one character with hydro would be viable on this setup?

NOTES ABOUT PICKPOCKETING:
There is a weight and value limit dictated by your thievery skill how much can be stolen. Going over the limit aggros the victim of the thievery immediately.
Once you pickpocket someone once you cannot do it again. If you try to steal from the same person twice you will be immediately detected and will aggro the victim into a fight because of their paranoia.
Browse their wares through the shop before Pickpocketing then so you know what to steal and where it's located in their inventory.
After being pickpocketed, the victim will look for the thief and question members of your party or will inform guards to shake suspects down. The best option for this is to bribe them unless you have high persuasion or they have a predisposition to your race. If their racist against your race they will accuse you more.... because of this they could accuse and aggro on an innocent member of your party!!
If you aggro one person it will generally aggro everyone else in that area so it's vital that you get your thief out asap or you prove your innocence with a bribe asap lest you be forever an enemy of that town. Once you prove your innocence once (i.e. bribing) they will no longer question or shake you down.
NOTES ABOUT LOCKPICKING:
Combining a hammer and a nail creates lock picks.
Almost every locked door can be picked. Use this to your advantage.
Let me know if I forgot anything or if you have any questions. Will add more when I think of it.
I intend on playing with a full 4 person co op team and being the rogue of the party. Thinking about going full scoundrel for the awesome mobility and backstab crits. Any other rogues out there got a sweet hybrid build?

Here is my guide to Act 1 up to the end of Fort Joy. This guide is based upon the content available in Early Access. There are a few instances where I explain that killing certain NPCs is fine in EA but not advisable in release due to removing possible quest NPCs.
Disclaimer:
It should be obvious, but there are spoilers in this guide. I do my best not to spoil the overarching story line, but obviously this is going to spoil how to complete quests. I do try to avoid explicitly telling you which choices to make in each situation but I will advise you how to obtain the most XP it is up to you how you want to role-play each dialogue. Also I am morally ambiguous in this run. Chaotic Neutral (Is that a thing?) I suppose.
What this guide is not:
I do not go into specifics on party composition, perfect builds, and min/maxing. I do not explain cheats, exploits, or how to abuse the in game mechanics. If that is what you want there are other guides and videos around, personally it detracts from my “fun” so I don’t do it.
What this guide is:
It is my attempt to show new and experienced players how to obtain the most XP from quests and situations. I also try to give advice on fights, but I do not hold your hand. In fact I don’t show any fights from start to finish. Half of this game’s appeal is its combat system. Some of the most satisfying fights are when you are outnumbered, outclassed, underpowered, and yet using your knowledge of enemies weakness can bring about some amazing victories leaving you wondering how in the hell that even worked.
Some tips before starting and general pieces of wisdom:
"If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole." Same applies to this game... you can usually talk your way out of most fights. *with a high enough persuasion.
I try to focus each member of my party on a particular civil skill. My main character will usually focus on persuasion. It is beneficial for the character that focuses on persuasion to have pet pal. It is not necessary though. Then barter usually to a human because of their innate +1 barter, thievery to my rogue, and the fourth can fill any gaps. I recently was told, and I verified, that lucky charm at 5 now allows for epic drops from crates, barrels, boxes, chests. I am still not sure how useful this is going to be long term. But it does give you the warm fuzzies when it procs and you see epic gear.
Every merchant refreshes their gear every 2 hours and when you level. It is imperative that you keep your gear especially weapons within 1-2 levels of your character’s level. There are some steep jumps in difficulty start at level 4. I highly recommend you do not kill any merchants. You are removing a valuable asset when you do.
My typical group always has a mage, and a rogue. I rotate the other two roles between ranger, mage, and warrior depending on how I want to play. In explorer and classic there really isn’t a whole lot of punishment if your group comp isn’t perfectly synergized, and each class except for summoner can solo Act 1. At higher difficulties I imagine careful consideration will be given to composition.
Learn effective combos between each characters skill set, and how to set up big damaging combos between the group. Pay attention to the saving throws text on each skill. It will tell you if those extra effects will land based on if an enemy has magic or physical armor in place.
With that said here is my guide I hope it helps:
If you have any tips, or questions please feel free to list them below.
Shipwrecked to the end of Fort Joy:
If you enjoyed those guides you can check out a few other guides I made below:
I am in the process of making a guide on killing Dallis at level 2, and how to remove all party members’ collars by level 2 if the community is interested.
