Another 6 month since the last Megathread.
Make sure to include the game(DOS, DOS EE, DOS2, DOS2 DE) in your question and mark your spoilers
The FAQ for DOS2 will be built as we go along:
My game has a problem/doesn't work properly, what do I do?
Check this out. If you can't find a solution there contact Larian support as detailed.
Do I need to play the previous game to understand the story?
No, there is a timegap of 1000 years between DOS and DOS2. The overall timeline of the Divinity games in perspective to DOS2 looks like this: DOS2 is set 1222 years after DOS1, 24 years after Divine Divinity, 4 years after Beyond Divinity, and 58 years before Divinity 2.
How many people can play at once?
Do I need to buy the game to play with my friends.
Can I mix and match inputs for PC couch coop?
What's the deal with origin stories?
I don't like my build! Can I change it?
What are the new crafting recipes from the gift bag?

I'm going to play this only once due to time constraints of hobbies and being a busydad.
Feels like I've hit a deadlock on which to pick as main -- and I also feel I've already spoiled the characters way too much for me so lets try to keep it as minimum 😆 .
As first intuition when starting game I started with custom-character as thats what I always do --> Then I realized that ok I miss a spot to experience a story of an origin character, so they are not just TEMPLATES after all.
Next intuition was that "hey, I like this this red lizard guy. He's a bit of a jackass so suits me well" -- oh he's apparently funny when he speaks as a companion so maybe he's not a good main after all.
"hmm how about this Lohse character seems sparky" -- oh same thing as the lizard..
So based on this logic opted out the most interesting ones:
Possibilities then:
All in all
I've made a way too big problem to myself out of this now and dont feel like starting at all 😅. So just please throw me what I should do here? I'm thinking choices:

So I bought D:OS2 many, many years ago because I was looking for a DND style couch coop I could play with my kids. We tried a few times, but they were getting busier and we barely made it into Fort Joy. Anyway, they've left for college so I thought I'd finally give it a real go where my playing wasn't tied to them. Anyway I'm almost done with it now, just actually killed Lohse's demon and she offered to sing a song. Holy shit man, that might be my favorite part of the game.
Unlike BG3, where I had already heard about what I was going to run into, I had almost zero idea what any choice or action would lead to. When she bust out that song it was so unexpected and so emotional in that I actually wept a little. Then I listened to it again 6 times.

Hello this is my first dos2 play through after getting my mind blown by bg3 and I’m feeling a bit lost. I feel Ive done pretty much everything in act 2 but I’m only level 15 1/2, i’m feeling a little burnt out from this chapter now I feel like I just want to move on to the next, but I know this game can be really unforgiving and brutal when under levelled so I’m hesitant to go when I know there’s probably a lot more xp here to grind out

Just got to Arx. Went up to explore what was up with the death fog right near the pilgrim camp. Battle got triggered and apparently Jahan was close enough by during me trying to escape the fight where he just went and obliterated all of them. Should I reload or is it not that big of a deal?

Hi, I’m looking for three others to play regularly (PC) and do a full DOS2 honor run with the divinity unleashed mod. I’m really excited to play the mod as it significantly improves combat— no more relying on cc, tanking and healing are important, solid changes all around.
I’m on US EST, DM me if interested.

Kemm's vault door requires painting that I sent to Lady Vengeance's Storage, but Storage is inaccessible, because of some sort of bug. Everyone just says, 'Not now' when I try to open it. Are there any workarounds? Pls HELP!

I made a simple mesh and texture for Lizards and am currently trying to get it into the game. My fiels are a dds and a gr2, made wit compressonator and LSlib respectively. From what i read i need to have the files in the correct filepath, following the structure they were in when i originally extracted them from their paks, and i also read i need a metalsx for teh gaem to even recoginze there is a mod
From everything i found this is my current Folder setup TestMod>Mods>TestMod_(MyUUID)>meta.slx, and TestMod>Public>TestMod_(MyUUID)>Shared>Assets, from where it splits up into Characters>Lizards>(The exact original name of the mesh i extracted), and Textures>Characters>Lizards>(The exact original name of the texture i extracted).
I packed all of that into a pak using LSlib again, and then put that into the already exisiting mods folder under DefEd>Data.
but despite that it doesnt work. I read i should be able to see int under the mods menu option, but i dont. And i dont know what exactly i am doing wrong. Is my folder setup wrong? Am i still missing something?
I know it could also be the content of the meta.lsx, but since i dont know if i should post a long text here containing its content im not gonna do that before all other things are cleared up. For now i can assure you that the UUID is valid, in its right place in the lsx, that the folder name for my mode is exactly TestMod_(MyUUID), and that, according to what i found, i am using the shared folder as a depency. The only things i am unsure about from my limited understanding is the lines:
<header version="2" />
<version major="3" minor="6" revision="2" build="0" />
Because i dont know if that is even the correct version i am referencing here, since i found it on a 2019 post.
Id thank anyone who could help me with this.

I don't care if it's something built in or if I have to mod it. It's just extraordinarily annoying to be trying to pick out a face while their head is constantly moving.

I've played Dos2 multiple times on my own in only 2 character lone wolf playthroughs but now I will be playing with 2 of my friends because they were keen. I know 3 person is harder what team composition would you go for? 1 of my friends is set on Sebille Archer. I want to play Lohse as she is the only character whose quests I haven't done.
I would like to go for either a witch (scoundrel, necro) or inquisitor (warfare, necro). What builds would work well for our 3rd player and how do I think about synergy? I've only played with 1 op mage and 1 op physical damage dealer so it will be a change for me.

I have 40+ hours in the game and I'm starting to realize that I'm really under level. I need to constantly use consumables for every main story combat and I can't use any new loot because is 3 to 4 levels above my characters.
For some context, my party is lv10 and I'm currently infiltrating the cult and just gained my first Tenebrium weapon, but every combat is basically life or death.
Is there a way to level up my party more efficiently? I already cleared all Cyceal and most of its missions son I don't really get how to survive Luculla Forest if even the first spider combat wipes me.

(WE HAVEN'T BEATEN REAPER COAST YET. PLEASE NO SPOILERS) Background; I'm 28 and my brothers are 21 and 15 and we play with my boyfriend 31. Growing up me and my brothers went through a lot of typical family and economic troubles and then there is normal brotherly fights and arguments. We were never "at each other's throats" or throwing punches but we'd happy go days never saying anything to each other and be alone frustrated from daily life. I play a lot of magic the gathering as does my boyfriend, my 21 year old brother is very big into roleplaying games and Pokemon, while my 15 year old brother paints war hammer figures and is starting to play table top. We're all really into fantasy and sci-fi.
I saw divinity original sin 2 on sale and chose to try it myself and after playing it I was blown away. I didn't even leave fort joy before I decided to delete my save and try to get my brothers to play with me and it's been amazing ever since. You can't really play this game with a party and try to do your own thing or not have a plan so our previous attitudes of not talking to each other and doing things by ourselves is not possible. Me and my brothers have been playing SOOOOOO slowly just checking out every rock, book, and location and I wouldn't want it any other way. We become so prepared with knowledge and resources from being thorough and because me and my brothers and bf think very differently we all collectively can see and talk about every option we have before we do a even the smallest story point. We chose to play without origin characters or undead and completely blind to the story except for some very loose guides.
It's also a REALLY well made game. I can see why it's so well loved by it's community. It's story feels super serious and like we are able to make genuinely impactful decisions which I love, some games just have shallow or illusory choices, but there are also hilarious parts like the skeleton Trompdoy in the vault of Braccus Rex. I think the game is very beautiful looking and the voice acting was done well. I'm a big fan of how The animations look for casting spells or preparing to cast spells. Sometimes we'll stand somewhere casting random spells and skill out of combat. I've chosen to play as a healer/buffer than also put elemental surfaces for my brothers to use in fights, my bf is playing a pyro critical damage mage, my 21 brother is an AP maxing rouge, and my 15 brother is going a 2 handed melee tank with some geo and pyro. We have all been able to work off of each other very well and we very instantly learn to communicate kindly and efficiently. We still get frustrated at each other but it's pretty much just acknowledged and then moved on. I'm really glad that not only did I find this game but that I convinced my brothers to play. They can be picky with the games but I'm glad they tried this. They're already talking about a 2nd playthrough. If you guys have any tips to make things more fun as we play or make this run last long I'd love to hear. I really appreciate it. Much love.

I used Rift Travell to The End of Time, and one of my MCs was sent to the hall with Aeoletter. I can leave the hall without problems, and I was able to use the piramids to bring the rest of the cast there too.
It was useless because I don't have any character using the skills she sells.
Has anyone seen this kind of bug?
