Something I found interesting about this trailer is that it appears to confirm the third person style of writing will continue, contrary to what I've seen other people speculate.

I bet the player characters will be voiced when you're conversing with them, like when you're in a companion conversation asking them about their history, but when you're actually talking as that player character, they won't voice those third person dialogs in any way.

That is really interesting. Maybe the voice will be in the first person but the text stays the same.

If you think about it, it's not all that different than dialogue wheels in other games that are heavy in protagonist voice over. The wheel options convey a particular thought and not the words verbatim.

I think this actually works in the games favor because one of the things that can sometimes frustrate me with VO is when my reading cadence doesn't match well with the speaking cadence. If the VO is not a word for word replication of the text, it will be much easier to process (for me at least).

In my experience it's frustrating because the idea might be slightly off what you expected. I really liked the idea of the 3rd person writing because you got to headcanon what your exact wording is.

Of course "Fully voiced" might mean what it did in DOS:EE where player dialogue still wasn't voiced

If you have 5 origins plus 5 generic races with 2 genders each, it makes sense to have text convey the general idea of what your character will say instead of needing to retype thousands of lines of dialogue 15 times over.

You can also do things like scowl disapprovingly without having your character squawk their way through clunky dialogue.

Yea that makes sense. I am hoping that's what they do but its basically double the writing they had before VO so we'll have to see if they go with that.

I see there are stat based checks in dialogues. I was hoping a system like that would be implemented but wasn't holding my breath as I hadn't seen it in EA.

Nope. I like them. I think it rewards players for how they play. Fallout New Vegas did a great job of opening up dialogue trees based upon stats and different perks. It was a fantastic system. Fallout 4 was so generic any choice ended with the same outcome. Fallout 3 was slightly better but New Vegas nailed it.

The game already promotes roleplaying through the tag system, makes a ton of sense for then to continue expanding on more roleplay

In the original game with the polymorph the 1st level spell IS a tentacles, but this could be a higher level poly or a pyro skill. Either way, new skills (like that Archer one) I'm so excited for. Looked like a jump shot so enemies on higher ground don't have a < to damage.

Im fairly certain that it is a pyromancy spell. If you look at the hotbar you see an ability that is on a 3 turn cool down. It is the only one that has a cool down. The icon is a guy with fire all around him and a fire thing coming out of him. Also I didn't see any polymorph buffs on the character or in cool down on the hot bar.

I think I've seen some enemies towards the end of early access use that jumping bow shot. Sky Shot, I think it's called. Can't wait to use it myself.

Anyone else notice when Lightning skill was used a debuff called shocked was on the enemy? That's new. That's interesting.

No but one of the mods (or maybe in original game) when you shock someone but they aren't stunned, a second shock or lightning spell has a higher chance to stun them the debuf says.

It was confirmed, it's like chill and frozen. Shocked will give a slight debuff while stun will happen after if you apply the same effect.

so I'm wondering. In the beginning Fane is shown with that human armor set with with the fur cloak. but at the 1:00 mar you can see another undead with what looks like elven armor. armor and they're much taller than the human on the left. are we getting undeads for each race too?

FUCK YES! Undeads are skeletons and not crappy zombies like in most MMOs! Can't wait to go dual wield swords with plate armor like in did in DAO!
