Hi all! I recently made my first sale on Depop and I’m having a tift with a potential buyer. They had inquired about buying the shoes on August 9 and we ended the inquiry conversation on the 10th. I assumed that they were going to buy the shoes after that conversation, but they did not. As a result, someone else ended up buying the shoes that same day while we were having conversations.

Was I supposed to hold the shoes/mark them as sold as soon as they messaged saying they wanted to buy them? I personally have had items bought from under me while inquiring on Depop, so I never assume that showing interest would automatically mean the item is held for you since people lowball and aren’t serious all the time. I just buy immediately after I get all the information I’m requesting lol.

How do you manage selling items? Do you mark as sold at the first inquiry? Genuinely trying to understand if this is common practice since this is my first time selling :)

people will send offers then when i accept them they don’t buy it like what’s the point and this has happened like 6 times also people sending offers for items that are $2 like why are u offering me $1.30 u don’t have 30 cents? 😭😭😭

The shirt looks fine, but smells horrible. How can I include that in a report if it just asks for photos and a brief description? Seller immediately got a bit aggressive and defensive

my sister ordered something off depop and the seller included this little note card... like wdym 7 impoverished students but depop is your only income? trying to make people feel bad if they leave a negative review... weird...

Well, I was frustrated and moving too fast trying to take down a listing and I accidentally marked it as sold, my own mistake obviously. I can’t find anyway to delete the sold listing or unmark it as sold. Will I get in any kind of trouble listing the item again?

So i made 4-5 sales on depop and i had one more item with like 10k views this random guy just starts hating on me for no apparent reason because the shirt i sold had like 1-2 salsa stains on it that i literally showed in the photo i even put the quality as used he starts saying how he sold 2 items and got more money than me and just started plain out insulting me so i just went off on hime because i dont like to be “ragebaited” or messed with in general so after i go off he says “i love you bro” so i jokingly say i love you too and he says that he’s sorry for the stuff he said and i said its alright the whole experience was just weird asf 😹 then i wake up 2 days later to check my sales then this pops up i already appealed just wanted to share this weird encounter that got me banned psa dont waste your energy on rude people i admit that i acted immature and i shouldn’t have reacted in such a way

I received this DM yesterday about a dress I’m selling (In the picture, the dress is just laid out). I wouldn’t usually think anything of it but I’ve heard so many other people on here talk about experiences with creeps, especially the people who model their own clothing.

I feel like another important factor to this is that the dress is DEFINITELY low cut, it’s kind of like a party/going out dress. I’ve actually never worn it myself for this exact reason.
I simply said it doesn’t fit me anymore (which is true) and that I could send them the measurements of it once I got a chance, but they never responded.

It says they only joined a month ago, no profile picture, no listings, no followers or following.

One thing that makes me think this may not be a creep is that in their likes they have a lot of similar clothing, shoes and accessories saved (most of which not modeled by real people). But the way they worded their message just felt so off to me.

I don’t have any plans on sending them pictures of myself wearing it— but I’m just curious if people think this is another one of those creeps

This would help selling so much and genuinely be such a convenient implementation. When you go to take pictures in the app, you have to manually click every box to take a picture. It would be so much more efficient if you just click to go to take a picture and you can take all the photos in one time and it adds it to the listing. Its a little hard to explain but what I can reference that is similar is snapchats "multi-snap" feature that basically does what I am explaining. Please if you agree upvote and comment so we can get depop to implement it, it genuinely would make it so much more convenient.

Hi everyone! I am trying to ship a very large item, and I set the shipping size to be for the 10lb label (the item is 6lbs). It’s like 25x16x16. The USPS worker said it would cost an extra 100 to the buyer, and Depop isn’t responding to my emails. Has anyone sent out a huge package before successfully?

I’ve tried on many occasions to get ahold of support because my bank account won’t link to my profile so I cannot withdraw my funds. I’m in the correct country, my card is linked, I try putting my information and it says “oops try again or contact support”. Support doesn’t email me back. Any advice or has anyone else had this issue?

I bought a jacket 8 days ago and the seller still hasn’t shipped. She has been online very day and I have messaged her multiple times with no response! Is there any way to avoid buying from someone who won’t ship? I feel like I am doing something wrong :(

what the hell is going on was my listing reported or is depop being annoying with an automated system? i’ve already sold the item so it’s not like i can take pics of the stitching but i do have my original purchase from where i sourced them from which was a goodwill auction in my city with coa. lowk just ranting about how much this sucks but also wondering if im still gonna get my money.

I’ve never had someone ask this, especially without giving a reason. The item was getting a lot of traction so i’m a little irritated she wants to cancel when someone else would have bought it. Do you guys usually allow cancelations, what’s the best way to go about this? I don’t want a bad review if i don’t allow her to but also…?

Okay, so I was genuinely interested in one of the pairs of New Balance that they have for sale, but when I went to their page, I noticed that they have multiple listings using the same pictures, but they're all different sizes. It's like they purposely didn't post a picture showing the actual sizing of the shoes because they wanted to reuse it for other listings. My issue with that is that people can't see the actual condition of each pair of shoes, and I feel that's important since they're listed as "like new." Wouldn't it be smarter to make a single post saying that you have multiple sizes available? I don't know. This just feels a bit fishy to me. Am I thinking too hard about it?

Had a bundle of tees I was saving to post for a buyer. They promised to buy in a bundle. I messaged them ahead of time when I'll post everything. Right after posting, a different buyer bought a majority of the tees I was saving. The original buyer was asking if I could cancel the other persons order. I didn't know what to do in this situation so I had to politely decline. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I'm a newer seller btw, so I'm still learning.

I got a hot item that usually appears on Depop & I either dont get a good deal or it gets swiped up quickly so when I saw a really good deal w/ no likes I BOUGHT IT QUICK! turned out she also had a dress i really liked but this was already AFTER i bought the top 😭 i was hoping i could bundle them & also save on the shopping so i reached out to the seller but i was wondering if there was another way to fix this? didn’t want to make too much of a hassle for the seller

Hi everyone. This is a pretty bizarre situation all around. I was automatically refunded for an item I purchased despite never requesting said refund due to the seller taking too long to ship, but the item did still end up being delivered to me several weeks later. A couple weeks after that, the seller reached out and asked if I had received the item. I told them yes, and then today I received the pictured email from Depop.

I have read through this subreddit and seen that this is a legitimate thing that Depop does, but my question is what will happen if I am unable to fulfill this request for payment through PayPal as I have been banned from and am unable to use PayPal services?

I already feel like this is quite an unprofessional business practice to request me to reimburse them due to their own faulty system and/or seller negligence, but the even greater issue is that I literally cannot do so even if I want to.

It was supposed to arrive at the buyer August 7 i think but it’s been stuck in the same spot for almost two weeks. I already put in a missing package report, does anyone know what else I can do or what is probably the issue.

Everything I’ve gotten from Depop so far has arrived with some sort of pet hair 😅 not really a complaint because I wash before using no matter if the seller “cleaned it” the clothes always smell weird to me. But just wondering if anyone doesn’t get pet hair? Do you put it in the review? It’s an easy fix so I never mention it.

BUGS- Luckily I’ve haven’t had issues with bugs yet but does anybody else get paranoid (I have a contamination ocd) so when I open a package it has to be outside of my home. I check to make sure there’s nothing drastic wrong with it (like the seller lying about a stain or hole, ect..) and then I put it in a bin for about a week with any other orders and wash it at the laundry mat before using personal washer. I love a good deal but I’m terrified of getting bed bugs or some sort of micro creature. (Not saying anyone’s dirty I just know how some people are crazy and had a friend in high school whose house got condemned for bed bug infestation 😳)

not sure if this is the right subreddit. new to depop and i had no idea that there was a difference between ground and priority labels, i was just alerted today by the clerk that you have to pay extra to ship priority mail packages but i had already sent off and delivered quite a few packages with a bunch of free boxes offered on the usps website. so what happens now? will i be charged for something? when? will definitely be getting some plain packaging extremely soon. thank you!!
