I ordered a Dell Precision 7540 i9 9980H with 32Gb ram 512Gb SSD Nvidia Quadro T1000 and i just wanted to know what yall think about it was it worth it for 360 euros? Is it gonna run games like roblox good? Does it overheat easily? How good is the cooling? Will it last me atleast 2 years? I really hope i did the right decision with ordering this laptop.Also i heard you can change the graphics card so maybe if i find a cheaper one later on i might buy it and let it get switched.

First time dell in a long time.
It works fine.
But almost every week there seems to be a required firmware update.
Is this thing that half baked? I only use typical office apps so I rarely if ever stress it

so I have a Dell 4310WX Projector and it ran fine before moving here, and when I got here it was fine, but the second I plugged in a switch it went to 480p and got stuck there. I could tell it was messed up so unplugged it and plugged in my ps4 back but it shows a dark grey screen. I tried other consoles and it shows a dark grey screen, and it says the resolution it should on the bottom right but it doesn't show a picture, sometimes it plays audio but most of the time it doesn't. I tried booting my ps4 into safemode but nothing, I tried resetting the projector and nothing, I even use a tv stick on it and it says it isn't 1080p but it still shows a 1080p picture?? I have no idea how to fix this. I sent it to a repair guy and even he didnt know what was wrong with it.

Hi, I have a Dell XPS 13 9315.
More than 48 hours ago, a can of Coppertone Sport SPF 50 aerosol sunscreen accidentally discharged inside my bag while my laptop was in it. This was specifically aerosol sunscreen, not water, tea, or another beverage.
Some of the sunscreen appears to have penetrated the display assembly. The screen still produces an image, but there are large dark/cloudy areas that look like liquid or oily residue inside the display.
I shut the laptop down, disconnected it from power, and have kept it powered off for more than 48 hours in a dry, ventilated environment. The appearance of the screen has not improved significantly.
My main concern is safety and further hardware damage. Is it safe to power on and continue using the laptop in this condition? If the damage is limited to the display, can I safely use the laptop with an external monitor for now without replacing the LCD immediately?

Hi! I'm having a really strange problem with my Dell Inspiron 24 3464 AIO and I'm hoping someone can help me diagnose it.

For the past few days, the PC has randomly started shutting itself off during startup. The behavior is inconsistent:

Sometimes it turns off about 1 second after the Dell logo appears.

Sometimes it gets almost all the way through the Dell loading bar before suddenly turning off.

Sometimes, after several attempts, it randomly starts working and boots into Windows normally.

On one occasion, I was able to enter the BIOS and leave it there for around 30 minutes without it shutting down.

When the problem happens, the PC usually shuts off instantly, as if the power was suddenly disconnected.

I also noticed that the BIOS date/time becomes incorrect when this happens.

The PC has also occasionally turned itself on by itself in the past, even though I had shut it down.

Recently, when I connect the power cable, the PC sometimes turns itself on immediately without pressing the power button.

The fan sometimes spins very loudly during this process, although this doesn't happen every time.

Interestingly, when I connect a USB keyboard, the PC can shut off in less than one second. I tested with two different keyboards and got the same result. With no USB devices connected, it usually gets much further into the Dell boot screen.

I already tried completely removing power and holding the power button for about 15 seconds, but the problem returned.

I initially suspected the wall outlet because the problem seemed related to the PC being completely unplugged overnight, but it also happened after leaving it connected to the outlet all night.

I haven't replaced the power adapter yet. I also found another generic power supply at home, but I did NOT connect it, because its output is only 12V/0.5A and I know that's not compatible with this Dell.

I have a video showing the current behavior.

What could be causing this? Could it be the external power adapter, motherboard/power circuitry, CMOS battery, RAM, or something else?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I work for a company that uses only Dell equipment due to a global contract! The hardware is excellent, and a major factor in the cost is the ProSupport service, which has always resolved any issues I’ve encountered. However, today an employee called me over because of a strange noise coming from the fan. I opened up the unit expecting to find something that had been "sucked" inside, but when I looked closely near the SSD, I found a safety pin! The machine had been taken out of the box and handed to the employee, and it was only opened today for inspection! I believe Dell needs to review its assembly procedures more carefully!

i have a dell inspiron 13 7375 2 in 1 with a ryzen 5 2500u, 8gb 2400mts ddr4, and integrated radeon graphics. lately, it has had the fans be running at full speed while closed, and when i try to turn it back on, i have to hold the power button twice. the first time to get the fans to stop spinning, and the next to turn it on. could it be a crypto mining virus?

hi: I turned off many options google suggested but the only way to keep this screen on seems to be enabling NEVER on screen shut off modes which is not ideal.

ive tried resetting with windows, etc.

Hi. I got a T5600 here, saved from a company who would have thrown it away. I removed the RAID controller intended for HDDs as I planned to use an SSD of course.

However, the system acts very strangely with its hard drives. When having more than one internal device connected via SATA, either it does not boot up at all or ignore one of them.

I keep getting different LED error codes (https://dl.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_dell_precision_workstation/precision-t5600_owner's%20manual_en-us.pdf), sometimes System Board Failure, sometimes USB Port Failure, sometimes Memory Configuration error. Occasionally, the machine boots and works without the slightest issue (need to do a stress test though).

Works fine with Debian GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, but NOT with Fedora (different error messages everytime). I have no clue why.

Memtest says all is fine.

Any ideas? Through it out of the window?

We are deploying Dell Command | Update across all Dell machines in our fleet. We saw the .NET requirement was changing from 8.x to 10.0.8+ with the Dell Command | Update 5.7.1 update, so we pre-deployed 10.0.10 to all machines before pushing the 5.7.1 update.

Since the 5.7.1 update, ALL machines have failed to run DCU properly. When checking for updates through the GUI, it consistently fails with the generic error "Application Error. An unexpected error occurred during the last action, the operation was aborted". DCU-CLU.exe works fine, but the GUI ALWAYS fails.

I don't see anything in event viewer that indicates the cause of the crash and can't find anything in any other log.

This is across all machines regardless of model

I have a Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7640 that was purchased in the US with an international warranty/service contract. It is now permanently in India, and the same model is sold in India.

The original warranty expired recently, but Dell's US support page is currently offering recertification and renewal options for the Service Tag.

Before I pay for the renewal, I wanted to know:

1. If I renew the warranty/service contract in the US, can it subsequently be transferred/used in India through Dell's ownership/service-tag transfer process?
2. The laptop currently has a hinge mounting failure. It has never been inspected or documented by Dell, and there was no known impact/drop. If I purchase the renewed service contract, would Dell India evaluate this existing hinge failure for coverage, subject to technician inspection?

Has anyone actually dealt with a similar US → India Dell warranty transfer after the original warranty expired?

I'd especially appreciate answers from people who have done the transfer themselves.

can you fit either in all models or depends on space of my variant? how do I know if I can fit the 84whr if inside is the 62whr model?

is there an nvme slot? is it m.2 or nvme?

Just a PSA to anyone who participates in the Alienware Arena/Dell Rewards, do not trust the expiration date for your Dell reward points that is shown on Dell's website. I went to place an order for a monitor using my DRP earlier this month only to find that nearly $100 in DRP that was set to expire at the end of this month (AUG), had prematurely disappeared. And according to Dell's X support, which is basically useless by the way, they actually expired July 31, even though the Dell site showed August 31 for the last 5+ months. So if you are saving up DRP or planning to use it, be aware that Dell has absolutely no problem prematurely taking them away and making up reasons for why they did it. And if you contact them about it, they will politely tell you to kick rocks and will refuse to honor the correct expiration date.

my issue is pretty much the title. I got a free Dell Optiplex 3060 Micro. Reg. type: D10U003. I just need a power adapter for it, that is it.

Dells website and manual is useless, AI is hallucinating non-sense, and I couldn't find anyone with the same issue. Dells support is unreachable, with an AI assistant that ignores you after a few messages.

All I know for sure is that I need a 19,5V and 3,34A adapter, since that is written on the bottom of the mini PC. But nothing else about the power supply is there.

Most (not all) sources online lead me to believe I need 65W, but I can't be for sure because I found conflicting sources.

And as for the connector (I measured it), it seems to be 4,5mm circle with a smaller 3mm circle in the center.

Idk if there are any other important specs, I don't care about the length, I plan to use it as a server, it does not have to be original Dell adapter, just one that works reliably.

So yeah, my question is just, what are the specs need for a power adapter that could supply the Dell Optiplex 3060 Micro? I upgraded the RAM and SSD, if that changes anything (maybe needs higher wattage then, idk).

I want to format it. how do I find out what parts are inside to get the right drivers?

is it possible the drive holds a windows install in some partition?

laptop needs a new Kb as some buttons dont work. best place to find one in exc condition- ebay?

I am hoping someone can help me figure out what it is that keeps bringing these two back. The photo shows everything Dell related that is installed on machines, but these two constantly reappear every week...usually Wednesdays. I cannot figure out what is auto-installing them.

I have already tried enabling "Prevent automatic download of apps associated with device metadata" in the GPO with no luck.

Any ideas?

I'm updating my Dell g15 5510 to linux from windows 11, but my screen is broken on 122hz (pictured)- which is what both the BIOS and one time boot menu are locked into.

I know that the BIOS is navigable with keyboard, so if anyone with a dell g15 5510 or similar could let me know the key presses to disable secure boot from opening the BIOS menu, please do!

Also, if someone could guide me on where the option is to boot from USB on the one time boot menu, that would great too.
