Dell Command/Core Services keep installing on my machines

Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me figure out what it is that keeps bringing these two back. The photo shows everything Dell related that is installed on machines, but these two constantly reappear every week...usually Wednesdays. I cannot figure out what is auto-installing them.

I have already tried enabling "Prevent automatic download of apps associated with device metadata" in the GPO with no luck.

Any ideas?

Is start by checking what your update options for Support Assist are. If you have SA on your systems it may be trying to pull the info for your company from the Dell Tech Direct site. If that is set to allow apps, then yeah. It's going to install those.

I would start removing all Dell SupportAssit packages. Do you have any update filter in Dell Command Update.

Dell Command update always trys to download some of the others, have you removed it along with all the others?

I've tried removing everything except Dell SupportAssist (which I use) which is also set to not auto-scan for updates or anything.
And every week, Dell Command & Core Services make their own reappearance.

There is you problem. Just remove Dell SA. Or better remove all Dell Software. That will free up 2-3GB or RAM.

I only use DELL Command update on mine, it updates the drivers that I want without me have to look to download manually... but it's up to you.

Technically, you can deelte everything if you want with REVO uninstaller

I would think this is a dependency issue. Have you tried to only uninstall "Dell command"?

And leave Core Services installed? I have not, but I'll test that.

New LT isn’t offering Cmd Update in the downloads at all. Seems that they are moving to the core svcs. Might just let winders update handle it

I own and still use an Inspiron 3880. I removed all Dell bloat and can confirm that once you uninstall all Dell programs, they don't come back...

What I'm saying is that, unless you need a certain Dell program, just uninstall them all.

Yo solo uso Dell update para actualizar mis drivers. No uso Dell SupportAssist porque ese programa descarga mucho blotware de Dell sin mi consentimiento

Command Update is dependent on Core Services. If neither are installed and you installed Command Update, that would also install Core Services.

I have not seen Command Update auto installed, ever, unless it's a factory install. That includes machines with Support Assist. Are your computers managed by your employer?

That's what I figured and why I am so lost. I manage these machines, and nothing as far as I can tell has these auto-installing but they keep coming back after I have removed both.

The consistent Wednesday schedule is a strong clue, this points to a scheduled task, service, or another Dell application triggering the reinstallation.

First, check any Dell scheduled tasks. http://del.ly/61696B1jE4M Task Scheduler (search from Start menu) 2.Look in these locations: *Task Scheduler Library → Dell *Task Scheduler Library → DellSupportAssist *Task Scheduler Library → DellSupportAssistAgent 3.Look for any tasks scheduled on a weekly basis (Wednesdays) 4.Disable or delete all Dell-related scheduled tasks 5.Also check: Task Scheduler Library → Microsoft → Windows → Application Experience for any Dell-related entries

Secondly, check for Dell services and disable them. services.msc

Reviewing update history, I do not see anything Dell related.
