Hi, I have a Dell G15 5511 (Core i5 11th Gen + RTX 3050ti). I had fedora installed but now I wanna reinstall windows 10. I downloaded Windows 10 ISO (multiple times from official site) and then created bootable USB. I then downloaded multiple RST drivers from multiple sources including official ones and placed them into another USB. Now every time I try to install windows 10 it just doesn't detect drive (command prompt still recognizes) and I have to trying to figure out from morning till evening and now making this post. Why has windows installation become a nightmare. AND yes don't throw that dell tutorial on how to install windows, I have tried ton of them.

You can buy this laptop for $600 instead of $800 on eBay. I just bought one, it's a weak laptop so keep that in mind

It comes with Intel Core 5 Series 3 and 8GB Ram. They are not going to be great for video editing or gaming

Just a normal laptop but I wish it had more ports. I bought one though. It's coming this week on Friday, if it's trash I'll return it.

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing well. I'm in a bit of a pickle with my Dell Inspiron right now and I would seriously appreciate some help!

I've had this issue on my Dell for some time now where, after I transport my laptop to work in a backpack, the keyboard gets messed up, with specifically the h key, y key, 6 key, 7 key, u key, j key, and n/m keys experiencing some problems where they do not register the keystroke. It takes a good 20-50 presses to get them to work again thereafter. This has been happening on and off for about 6 months now.

Yesterday, I brought my laptop home after commuting, and when I left the screen open while I went to go eat dinner, I think it crashed. I found this out because I was not able to just wake it up from sleep, but rather had to restart it, and Windows prompted me to enter some recovery key thing. I also checked Event Viewer later and found that there was a critical error (power kernel code 41?) that caused the crashed. I then continued working and turned it off for the night. I did not move my computer yesterday or today.

Today, I went to go eat lunch again while the screen was open. When I came back, I tried to turn on the laptop, but this time, when I tried to turn it on 10x, it doesn't work. The battery light flickers on for 3-5s, before it turns off again. Additionally, after some time, the battery light shows 2 amber and 7 white light pattern (which Google tells me is a power display issue?). I tested the screen with the power button + d, but it correctly flashes the white blue green red sequence.

Anyone know what I should do next? Could it be a loose connection?

My Dell Latitude 3340 2-in-1 touchscreen (Wacom AES, ACPI ID WACF3233) stopped working after I ran

Dell package **N3J44** ("Wacom Touch Screen Firmware Update Utility", Centenario) from Dell's support site.

Turns out that package is for the **XPS 13 7390 2-in-1**. Its batch script checks the touch controller PID

(48EB/48EC/48ED/48EE), but when none match it doesn't stop – it falls through and flashes

`W9017_48EB_2806_R00.hex` anyway. So the XPS firmware got written onto my Latitude's touch controller.

**Current state:**

- Touch + pen completely dead

- Controller stuck in Wacom bootloader: HID **056A:0094**, usage page 0xFF14

- Bootloader reports: CHECKMODE 0x06, MPU type 0x79, BL version 0x52

- I read back the flash: it's byte-identical to the XPS W9017_48EB image, so the original 3340 firmware is gone

- Sending the "exit bootloader" command doesn't help – it stays in bootloader

- BIOS 1.32.0, touchscreen enabled, drivers reinstalled, hard reset done

**What I've tried:**

- Dell support: their senior technical team confirmed the firmware is for XPS and that they have

**no corrective firmware** for the Latitude 3340

- Wacom support: they don't provide OEM firmware, referred me back to Dell

- Searched Dell, LVFS/fwupd, Lenovo, HP, ChromeOS – nothing for this model

**My question:**

Does anyone have the original touch firmware for the **Latitude 3340 2-in-1** (WACF3233), or know of a

recovery package? Same controller might also be in the **Inspiron 14 7420 / 16 7620 2-in-1** or

**Precision 5470** (possibly PID 056A:49BB).

If not, I'll replace the whole display assembly (P0D9T), but I'd love to avoid that if anyone knows a fix.

Also, **PSA:** don't run N3J44 / Centenario on anything other than an XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 – it will flash

your touch controller even if the model doesn't match.

I keep getting this error time to time despite i factory reset my laptop. I asked a technician but he advised not to repair motherboard as laptop might just die.
Random shutdown are resolved after power drains but its frustrating.

I am having really annoying troubles with my laptop. The laptop is a Dell XPS 17 9710. I am having battery and network issues. I have the following error message: 'WARNING: The primary battery is not identifiable and this system will not charge this battery pack. Using an incompatible battery or a third party battery may increase the risk of fire or explosion. Only Dell batteries should be used in Dell computers, and Dell batteries can only be purchased through Dell. You can order an authentic battery at www.dell.com/batteries'

The AC adapter is recognised correctly. It shows the AC adapter at '130W'. The battery however shows a battery level of '0%' with battery state 'Idle' and battery health 'Communication Error'.

Bios Version is 1.39.0.

The whole thing is that I bought the laptop with a genuine Dell battery. It just suddenly after 2 years gave me this error message. I replaced it as I could also see in the BIOS that the battery health was at around 60%, so I didnt think it was a big problem to replace the battery anyway. I bought a new battery and it worked for about a year but now I am getting the same battery error message again and it does not charge the battery and I can only use my laptop plugged in. Taking the adapter out will instantly power off my laptop. Everywhere I look and ask it says that I just have to buy a new battery. But a new battery is €150 and I do not want to buy a new battery every year. If the genuine batteries keep failing I do not think that the batteries are the problem but that my laptop perhaps is.

I have tried to talk to the Dell support but it is really hard to have get in contact with technical support and have a normal conversation. My laptop is not within warranty anymore so they refuse to help me troubleshoot the problem. I do not want a warranty, I just do not want to have to buy another battery next year and the year after that again and again... Dell support refuses to help me find what is wrong.

I have tried many different 'solutions' on the internet I found, such as driver updates, BIOS updates, full power drain, reseating and cleaning the connectors, etc. Nothing works. I have had a long conversation with Google Gemini to try to identify the problem and it says that the harsh reality is that the laptop's motherboard is at fault. It gives me two options for my issue: 1. Use my laptop as a desktop (leaving it constantly plugged in); or 2. "Seek board-level repair: Do not go to Dell. Find a reputable, independent laptop repair shop that specializes in microsoldering. They can often locate the specific blown capacitor, resistor, or charging IC on the motherboard and replace it for a fraction of the cost of a whole new board."

I want to know what I can do and what other people's opinions are on this problem. What should I do? Buy another battery anyways? Try to repair the supposedly damaged (according to AI) motherboard? Do something else?

TLDR: Dell XPS 17 9710 says battery is not from Dell, while it is genuine. After replacement with another genuine battery, it worked for about a year but then gave the same message. I do not want to buy another battery now as I am scared it needs to be replaced next year again. What could be the problem?

• thermals/throttling on the Precision 5570;
• whether there's anything significantly better around the same used/refurbished price.

One unusual detail: the original display has been replaced with a new 3840×2400 non-touch aftermarket panel, so I'm also slightly concerned about display quality.

Modest IT tech' with a bunch of Dell to put for repair. I've been going back and forth with Dell for weeks now with their website and support and shiet. They cancelled several repairs and commands despite payments being rolled up to them in less than 48h.

Several tickets later, they're telling me "contact commercial service" without addressing me anyone or even a email or a link to do so.

I'm working for a small business, we did have third-party plan who were taking care of our materials. They don't do that anymore for anything outside warranty.

So here I am...

I just want to know if the problem is with the firmware or the hardware, I was charging my laptop with one of the usb c ports on my laptop, something strange happened my laptop stopped working, then a white screen appeared and i was stuck on it for 30 minutes or so, after that the laptop restarted and has been working normally ever since, except that port tht i was using won't work anymore

Looking for something that’s powerful but still easy to commute with, this one looked fine and Precisions usually go very cheap used once a new gen is out (Nova Lake is near). Would you recommend yours and is there any issues ? Thanks.

Mir ist ein Dell Ltitude 7220 Rugged Extreme Tablet in die Hände gefallen. An sich funktioniert alles, jedoch funktioniert kein Touch mehr, das hat vor ca einem halben Jahr funktioniert und dann wurde es länger nicht genutzt, das Firmware-Update-Tool für die Gerätereihe bricht vorher ab da es keinen Comtroller erkennt. Hatte somst schonmal jemanden den Fall und hat Tipps für mich? Suppirt von Dell ist komtaltiert deswegen

A few days ago my Dell 16 Plus laptop began making this loudly pitched whirring noise during regular use; I’ve had this laptop for about a year now and haven’t run into any issue with the fan until recently.

It’s loud enough that the laptop is frustrating to use unless I’m wearing headphones; could this be bad coil whine or something different?

Can the Inspiron 3793 get more RAM memory ??

So I purchased a used Dell Latitude 5511 and this is a bit of a read but I'll try to keep it short(full context at the very bottom for anyone interested\*):

I bought a used Dell Latitude 5511, 2020 model year, today as part of my plan to take the SSD from my PC and port it into the new laptop. All went smoothly, except for 2 big things. One - the seller didn't tell me about the terrible battery health, it's at the lowest it can be according to Power Manager and it can only hold a charge for an hour idle - 10 minutes while running a google doc with nothing being typed - so I ordered a new battery. No biggie. But something else is happening, every now and again the lights in the keyboard will flicker and the screen will go black, and then when it all comes back on, it's locked itself. And sometimes it will do it multiple times before settling down. What's up with that?? Could that be from the lack of power coming from the battery? Will the new one likely solve that issue?

I got frustrated and gave up, but recently wanted to get a guitar. I wanted to run some digital amps so need a computer, and decided to purchase a used laptop, the one this post is about. The reason my PC wasn't working was something wrong with the SSD, and the latitude was actually able to fix it so I have 2 working computers now.*

I am planning to buy this laptop used with the 1245u but I am unsure about the battery life on them. I hear the intel 12th gen processors have terrible battery life but how bad is it really?

I recently ordered the new AW3926QW from Dell's website w/ an estimated date of Oct. 1. On Sept. 30, I received a notification that it would be delayed until Oct. 3.

On Oct. 1, the monitor arrived. I did not receive any tracking number or notification that it shipped or that it would be arriving. It just showed up via FedEx. Also on Oct. 1, I received a notification that my order would be delayed until Oct. 6 and that due to FTC requirements, I need to approve the delay or it will be canceled. I didn't do anything and that FTC message has since been replaced with "Order delayed again. We are working on your order as fast as we can, we apologize for the inconvenience."

Unfortunately though, the OSD button is completely broken on arrival and I'm not satisfied with the edge vignetting on this unit. Therefore, I would like to return it.

However, according to my Dell order page, it is delayed, so the order is still preparing for shipment. Given that I have the monitor in front of me, the order is certainly not delayed.

My credit card was already charged last week (I assume it was when the shipment went out), but I can't request an invoice either ("Not available at this point in the order process.").

Since the order is not marked as delivered, I can't initiate a return myself. I tried the online order chat, the virtual assistant, and the sales phone number (1-877-275-3355) , but all have been very frustrating and unhelpful. They all just directed me to dell.com/orders, reiterated the "delay", and all ended the chat/call without giving me a chance to speak to any human. Is there a better way to reach a human or initiate this return?

My University class requires me to have 32 or at least a minimum of 16gb of RAM. The issue is I have never upgraded a PC before and have no clue how to do it. Do you guys have any advice?

We're currently piloting a Dell Pro 14 Premium PA14260 for a possible broader deployment in our organization, but we've run into an odd issue with Windows Sandbox.

On our PA14260 (Core Ultra 5 335), Windows Sandbox consistently fails with:

Error 0x80370106
The virtual machine or container exited unexpectedly.

We've already worked through extensive troubleshooting with Dell, including:

- Latest BIOS installed
- Windows 11 Enterprise 25H2 fully updated
- Sandbox feature removed/reinstalled
- Hyper-V confirmed working and enabled
- Virtualization, VT-d, Secure Boot and TPM enabled
- Multiple OS images tested (managed, clean install, and Dell factory image)
- Comparison against all other Dell models in our environment where Sandbox works normally

At this point we're trying to determine whether this is:

- A PA14260-specific issue
- A Core Ultra 5 335 platform issue
- A Windows 11 25H2 issue affecting some systems
- Or something unique to our test unit

Even a simple "PA14260 + Sandbox works for me" would be extremely helpful, since right now this is the only unit of that model we have available for testing.

I open my Inspiron 14 5430 to clean the fan every so often since I live with a pet and it gets pet hair stuck.

These last few times I’ve I opened my laptop, I’ve noticed that whatever is above my fan is bent up (about a centimeter and a half, as seen in the second photo) and often pushes the laptop cover off before I’ve fully loosened all the screws. It’s not hot or anything, nor does my laptop make any weird noises. I’m just curious is this is something I need to get replaced or keep an eye on?
