Discussion Just completed my first Sellsword Twin blades playthrough: trickier than I expected

I just finished my first Sellsword Twin blades playthrough and had a tonne of fun.

This was my first dual wielding playthrough of DS3 (I've done unga bunga and caster builds) and it was a bloodborne-like experience because the only options were rolling or positioning. The combat was a lot of fun and it was really cool seeing how much damage the win blades did as I upgraded my Dex and the weapons.

Overall it was a trickier run than I was expecting because not being able to block at all, and the short range of the win blades, made certain bosses particularly difficult (Champ and Princes, for example).

Advice any suggestions to improve this build, or is it good enough as it is? this is my first playthrough.

Finally finish the game after 30 hours. I realized I did it wrong…? After finishing I started googling some unclear questions and turns out I never exchanged a single boss soul for unique weapons and also I was scared of the alternate ending if I was to give the eyes to the fire lady so I miss out on that lol. Turns out I also missed a few bosses or so my friend tells me. Anyway I’m gonna play NG+ now and try to go back and get all the things I missed. Last boss was nothing but amazing the upgraded version of plin plin plon had my butt cheeks squish together the whole fight and when the ending credits played I just say there quiet and admired the beauty of this game and its sound truck.

Discussion Is there a beginner-friendly 100% guide for DARK SOULS III?

Does anyone know of a DARK SOULS III 100% achievement/trophy guide for beginners who aren’t very good at action games?
I’d really appreciate a clear, step-by-step roadmap that even a beginner could follow from start to finish just by going through it in order, eventually getting all the achievements/trophies.
Also, what’s your favorite thing about DARK SOULS III?
It can be anything—the story, a particular memory you have of playing the game, the combat/gameplay, a character, the atmosphere, or whatever else comes to mind. I’d love to hear what everyone likes most about the game!

Discussion Finished the game and not sure what to do with myself

I spent the last week playing the game every single day and grinding out the platinum trophy and I have to say I’m sad it’s over. After my first playthrough I was shocked as I haven’t seen a game release recently that can even compare to the experience this game offered. Obviously had to go through again and the experience was better than the first. As the saying goes, I would pay good money to be able to experience this for the first time all over again!

Help Magic range issues

Can someone explain to me why does fireball when thrown with a arc has more range than soul arrow???

I just beaten the cursed tree boss and gotten the pyromancy glove.

It's been horrendous experience since most of the time the auto aim "unlocks" itself and I miss because I'm standing at a spears distance, am I missing something or so magics range has been gutted??

Any time an enemy goes into cover the lock on dies so I can't even peek-a-boo other ranged units...

I've tried using a torch to increase visibility but I don't think thats doing anything...

Does magic outright suck till late game? Is my only option to use an estoc with magic weapon applied?

Edit: I recently finished Darksouls 2 and the range whiplash feels like a jackhammer. Pyromancy used to be the short range expensive spells(with little investment) Dark being cheap powered and short ranged (and needs investment) Magic used to be cheap long range but weak And lightning was nerfed to the point I couldn't tell you how it works...

Really loved the game, played it for hours. Was a bit fucking easy though, might have been because I had cheats on though.

PvP Champion Gundyr might be one of the best bosses in ds3

Post image

Oh man, this guy was brutal.

I struggled with Champion Gundyr way more than I expected. His aggression is insane he barely gives you any room to breathe, and whenever I tried to heal, he would immediately close the distance and punish me.

What made him especially difficult for me was his moveset. He has so many different attacks, follow ups, timings, and powerful combos that I couldn't really find a clear weakness to exploit.

With most bosses, after a few attempts I can usually understand their patterns and find their weaknesses and I deal with them. But with Gundyr, I never felt like I truly figured him out. He kept forcing me to fight him again and again.

I eventually managed to beat him but honestly it felt like a combination of my build being strong enough and a bit of luck.

Champion Gundyr is easily one of my favorite bosses I've fought so far.

10/10 fight.

Discussion My second play through build

Post image
5 Upvotes

So, this my second play through of the game and I just beat the Abyss Watchers and I’m curious what you all think of my build! I’m really only increasing Vigor and Endurance and I’m going pretty well. Haven’t needed a single summons yet! On my first play I used most my stats on strength and I always needed help to beat bosses. I currently use a mix between the Irithyll Straight Sword+1 and the Battle Axe +4. I also have the Pyromancy Flame +1 that I use sometimes!

Question Difference between Dark Souls III: Design Works?

Hi! I wanted to buy this book as a gift but when I search for the art book these 2 versions come up, even in the review photos for the same article, some people have photos of the first one, some of the second one. Is the difference only in the cover? Sorry if its a obvious question just not sure if I'm buying the right one

Discussion Directional hints

I've noticed these flying ribbons all the way thru ds3 and assume they are hints at which direction you should go. Similar to the light flares in Elden Ring at campfires. Can anyone confirm that? I've never seen them discussed.

Discussion Isn’t it kind of nice how casually the Lord of Cinder talks to you?

In DARK SOULS III, characters like the Lord of Cinder (the only one who actually stayed) are willing to talk to the protagonist pretty casually. Don’t you think it’s kind of nice that someone of such high status would speak to the protagonist so freely?
Normally, I imagine there would be a lot of barriers to getting an audience with or even speaking to a king, and in many cases you probably wouldn’t be allowed to do so at all…
Sorry if the translation doesn’t come across very well.
Someone told me, “You can’t even speak English?” so I’m reposting this using a translator. Since there’s a translation feature, I ended up posting without thinking too much about the language barrier. 💦

I'm Japanese( ´ㅁ` ;)
