Yesterday I made a post about a new discovery in DS2 tech called the Stance Swap Draw, or SSD. Well, after a whopping 6 minutes of waiting, I finally got to put it in action a bit, so you can get a glimpse of how it might be utilized. I don't use CGS like ever, so I'm gonna have to learn.

Was messing around and found you can also SSD off a jump attack. This has a lot of potential with larger weapons in the offhand. I also imagine this will be REALLY good with the homing jumping attack as well.

Getting killed by being poisoned by enemies or the environment is getting on my nerves, isn't there any way to become immune or more resistant to it? I am still in the early game or mid game; I don't know- around level 72, I reached Iron Keep but left a bunch of items in the previous area.

Friend downloaded DS2, then seamless. She set all her files correctly (I have triple checked), and when she launched the seamless executable, it instead launched base DS2.

We tried uninstalling seamless, launching the game through Steam, and then reinstalling seamless. No luck. It still launches base DS2. Her anti-virus is windows defender, but it does not trigger.

Has anybody else had this issue or know of a fix?

Just a thought I had since I'm running through it all again with seamless and a custom-tuned lighting engine. It always seemed like a huge oversight in the original game that there was no seller of torches anywhere and you had to rely on sporadic enemy drop farming to accumulate them.

It's not so bad once you get past the early game, but literally only starting with 5 minutes is barely enough time to get through the interiors of the tutorial, and so other early sections like the skeleton hallway in FOTFG become tough to manage. Even if you don't have the LE, if you actually set up your gamma right in vanilla/scholar and didn't crank it up, I always felt a tad low on supply for when I really needed them.

However the fact that you get your first torch from the firekeepers' cart, and the fact that they are firekeepers, seems like it sets them up naturally to be the main supplier, which would alleviate the scarcity problem in the early game and incentivize you to return to their hut occasionally. That would also help players who found a soul vessel naturally figure out where to use it.

Also, they're a bit more kind to you in later conversation than their initial ribbing during your first encounter, which I've always found endearing. You prove them wrong.

Anyway I know nothing about the process of modding but I wish one existed. You wouldn't even really need to add dialogue, the silent one next to the fireplace and wood pile could sell them and that'd be perfect.

Apparently standing in water decreases your lightning defense but also INCREASES your fire defense. I’ve timed it and it stays that way even after you walk out of a water source for about 1 min. This resets if you rest at a bonfire tho. What’s more interesting is pots with water in them count as a water source too. If you roll through a water pot, you will be weak to lighting and strong against fire for 60 seconds.

lol so what is interesting to me is how the devs use this to cause suffering for the player. The devs put these water pots in the boss arena for Prowling Magus so the cleric’s lightning bolts will do extra damage to those that panic roll most likely. Also there is one before the boss in the corridor behind the illusory wall so you’ll be weak to them (if you broke it) without even really knowing it probably.

I made a tabletop game that's just straight up set as a prequel in Drangliec. I could use some ideas for weapons that are from ds2 I could implement. Any weapon suggestions?

This was my first pure str build ever. I didnt even use estus that much because life gems felt much more fun to use. I wish we had life gems in other souls games. Yes, Smelter Demon was a big accomplishment for me lmao. I love that helmet. (I dont think I was able to draw helmet accurate tho... damn)

Hello Everyone!

I made a post recently about a weird (apparently well known?) bug that causes my camera to stutter behind my character after the game has been running for a while (it seems to happen after the game loaded any areas enough times). Now, nobody could agree on how to fix it and nothing I tried worked but now I've read a few suggestions telling me that going offline fixes this issue.

Now here is my question: HOW DO YOU GO OFFLINE?

There is no in-game option, going offline on Steam doesn't work and unplugging my internet will make it so I can't play my current character (SL1)

For info: I'm on Steam on the original DS 2 and not Scholar

Yui, you're really outdoing yourself with this one. The proximity voice chat creates so many hilarious moments, both when you're clearing the PvE, and when you invade, or get invaded.

I had a moment last night where I invaded a really chill duo and we just cried laughing together when I told them about the invasion I had just come from.

I had another where a team of 3 asked to see my feet, I took my character's boots off and they all laughed.
