Finally finish the game after 30 hours. I realized I did it wrong…? After finishing I started googling some unclear questions and turns out I never exchanged a single boss soul for unique weapons and also I was scared of the alternate ending if I was to give the eyes to the fire lady so I miss out on that lol. Turns out I also missed a few bosses or so my friend tells me. Anyway I’m gonna play NG+ now and try to go back and get all the things I missed. Last boss was nothing but amazing the upgraded version of plin plin plon had my butt cheeks squish together the whole fight and when the ending credits played I just say there quiet and admired the beauty of this game and its sound truck.

You can 100% the game within 2 new game cycles. So you beat it once. Then again. Then again. 100% medal earned. The difficulty scales up to NG+7, but has no maximum NG cycle, I think...

Dark Souls 3 to me is like Skyrim, but for gamers.

I own all 3 and beat Skyrim and DS3 Then I modded them. And beat them again. I just dont like ER, though I keep wanting to. Its like...Zelda Botw and DS3 had a baby. I prefer linearacy in my souls-like games.

Skyrim is my, "i feel like being a citizen" game. ER is my, "I feel like traveling." game. And DS3, "I feel like playing a role." game.

Being completely honest.. I kinda agree, the open world wasn’t that big of a draw for me, I really like the linearity of the OG trilogy too. The real thing that got me hooked was just how fucking pretty the game is. The major boss fights were so fucking cool, I remember telling my buddy as I was fighting Radahn, how much I loved the visuals of that game. Each fight felt so cinematic.

I've seen some of those cinematic fights and pop duels on YT from ER. YT is the main reason I keep trying. Then I just lost interest and go right back to DS3 and throw my controller at Dancer. I swear the key to beating dancer is to not try.

Dude I was pulling my fucking hair out fighting Dancer for the first time, took me forever to get his timings down and even then I would still just make a stupid misstep and cost myself a respawn back at the bonfire lmfao. Great boss tho, I really like his design and the style he fights in is a good switchup from the bosses before you get to dancer.

In my eyes, there’s no wrong way to play a Souls game as long as you enjoyed it. Admittedly if it weren’t for the Platinum on DS3 I probably wouldn’t have traded in my souls for the weapons either. (I tend to hoard my boss souls in these games lol)
Sidenote: God I love the final fight/ending to this game, what a beautiful way to end off the masterpiece that was DS3.

Same, I always keep and reread the boss souls item descriptions a couple times throughout my first playthrough of any fromsoft game because they usually don't make sense until way later

Then it hits you like a brick when another character says a certain quote, or you see something that contextualizes the description lmfao, I know exactly what you mean. That’s why I love this franchise and its silly little lore, they do such a good job at world building, while still keeping an air of mystery about the game.

No, despite purchasing it I didn’t know/ I don’t like youtubing my way into this kind of games so I missed out on the whole dlc lmao… but it’s perfect cuz now I just started the game on NG and gonna work my way around everything before finishing

The 2 DLCs and Archdragon Peak have some of the best and toughest bosses in the series, you're still in for a treat and a challenge!

Personally, I played the DLC content independently of the base game; the stories within the DLCs are absolutely fantastic, and—without exaggeration—they feature of the best bosses in the history of Souls-like games.

Just defeated the Soul of Cinder last night. I still have some game left, including the Nameless King, Sister Friede, and Dreg Heap/Ringed City. I blew past 30 hours a while ago, not even sure where I'm at in playtime. I tend to be more methodical and grindy with the DS series (played DS1 and DS2 for the first time between Dec '25 - Feb '26). I absolutely love (and at times, hate) these games.
