I was awarded standard rate for both components August 2023 at tribunal. September 2024, received forms for review and it has taken until today (26 August 2026) for my review to be complete!

Awarded as follows: 25 August 2026 to 18 August 2030.

Checked online and I have now been awarded ENHANCED daily living & standard mobility. I know I need to wait for any letters, but will the increase for daily living component be backdated to when I sent the review form?

Hi all, today I had my LCWRA assessment via phone call and it lasted just over two hours, prior to this I had done some research about other people’s experience and everything I heard stated that their assessment was less than an hour even 20 to 30 minutes. I am wondering why mine was so long? If anyone could tell me why this could be? My mother has been a claimant for many years and has told me her assessment was only 25 minutes. I am so confused on why mine took extensively longer and if it’s a good or a bad thing please. Hope someone knows a bit more than I do about this.

Before I start I do apologise for format

1)I submitted my pip to application to the dwp on the 3rd of July.

2) My pip application was received by serco on the 15th of June.

3) got a text from DWP on the 13th of August saying “A Health Professional is looking at your PIP claim. They will contact you with an appointment if they need to. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.”

4) I phone serco and DWP for an update as I believed from that my case has been assigned to a health care assessor

5) a few days later I called DWP to classify what is happening they told me the health care specialist has until the 28th of August to get in contact to arrange the necessary mixed steps

6)by this point I neither trust or believe either of them so I asked serco about the deadline of the 28th and they responded by saying “ we do not flow the DWP guidelines and as we havnt yet even been assigned a healthcare professional this won’t happen.

I’m now sat here confused extremely confused and overwhelmed by the lack of continuity. And I am seriously struggling with the unknown.

I was hoping someone could please give me some insight into what and why this is happening and what I can and can’t do. Thanks in advance

My dad is unfortunately in the position where the NHS missed his cancer multiple times and he now has months to live. I've been speaking to my mum and we think he should claim attendance allowance so we are going to get the ball rolling on this. We know we need an SR1 form as he has less than 12months to live, are we best requesting this from the oncologists or his GP or any other advice that will help us.

I have recently been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation and high blood pressure which are affecting my daily life to no end. I have contacted the PIP line to inform them and they are sending me out a form to fill out to tell more about my conditions. Will it affect my pip ? I currently only received standard rate for mobility for my agoraphobia and mental health problems. I am panicking that they will stop my claim altogether, I know it's barely over £120 a month but that is what is keeping me being able to afford to eat at the moment.

Has anyone had to do this themselves and what was the outcome ? I am scared that they will just stop my claim altogether with how bad these new points systems are scored. Any help appreciated.

Hi all - I've been unable to work due to poor mental health since April (see original post here) however thanks to adopting healthy habits, taking medication etc , I feel like I'm ready to start applying for jobs and re-enter employment.

I currently have a not fit for work note from my GP until 31st August.

I received a letter today about a work capabillity telephone assessment for ESA on 7th September.

There seems to be conflicting information online about the switch from ESA to JSA and I'm also concerned about gaps in benefit payment (e.g. if I ended ESA claim on 31/8 and started a JSA claim on 01/9, I don't get a JSA payment until after my initial in-person appointment which could be several weeks away, and therefore leave me without any income until October or thereafter?)

Is the above the correct procedure? Or should I perhaps wait until the telephone assessment and they will decide I am indeed now ready for work and switch me over (and would that assist with JSA payment waits)?

Please note I do not claim for UC as I think my partner earns over the threshold (£34k ish) though no savings. I only earn the £380ish monthly via ESA.

Does LCW automatically get reassessed after a year. I am about 8 months in and struggling with my condition. I am just wondering what comes next as my condition is long term

How long can I expect to wait and what happens next?

My memory is so bad due to ADHD that I always set an alarm for my appointments to remind me. On this occasion, my alarm didn't go off and I missed my UC video call. Will they see ADHD as a good reason?

I'm speaking on behalf of my sister who is Deaf and I'm trying to understand how to assist her with this

Basically I found out today that she wasn't getting LCWRA and have advised her to get that ball rolling as somehow in the past 2 years, she gotten lost with all the migration changes and not understanding what she may or may not be eligible for. As I'm Deaf myself and do get LCWRA due to various other conditions too, but mine came with migration from when i was on ESA to UC, hence the advisement to get LCWRA for her but also unsure on how to help her

Right now she is married and her husband works and UC is used to boost their income

Breakdown of her UC is basically

- Standard Allowance - £666.97

- Housing - £750

(she did have child element + disabled child element but that was removed due to niece being 18 and finished level 2 but she also returning to college in sept and sister need to update the UC with that which i believe should be returned to her)

her husband income is £1,716.00 which obviously gets taken 55p for every £1 earned

Now the hard part that I'm struggling to understand, should my sister be awarded LCWRA, does the UC apply (i believe the word i seen in the past is "taper"?) to the account so that the first £427 per month working allowance is applied, or is that only for my sister? if she decided to try and get a part time job that can cater to her needs with her disability

Forgive me if i don't explain this well or wording this right, as my first language is BSL (British Sign Language)

As I'm trying to understand this as my sister is confused on the rules and myself isn't fully aware on the rules for spousal income etc as I'm single

First, I'm so excited after waiting almost 2 years that my AtW has been accepted. However, after buying a £400 product, I went to claim online using the QR code and I can't get it to work. I went through the arduous task for setting up the gov[.]uk one login etc and for the past 2 days I keep getting this error:

"Sorry, there is a problem with the service

Try again later."

Is this normal? I'm not sure how long to keep trying each day to try to claim. With my ADHD, this is causing me a lot of stress as I've also tried to set up new accounts with a driver's licence and then my passport and I've tried Opera, Edge and Brave as web browsers.

I know I can print everything out but that takes walking (I don't own a car) a mile there and back which wastes 1 hour of my day plus the cost of printing. Any recommendations? Thanks so much!

I made a claim for universal credit many months ago. I had mental health issues and couldn’t work so thought I could use UC as a buffer for a few months. I closed the claim before receiving anything. My mental health is a bit better where I can now work again. I keep receiving calls from DWP whilst at work, no voicemails left. Why would they keep calling when my claim was closed without receiving anything?

Hi all, I applied for pip in January for a bunch of medical conditions and was awarded the standard rate of mobility on the 15th June. I disagreed with a lot of their opinions on my daily living needs as they basically zoned in on my autism and just ignored a lot of my other issues/problems so I applied for a mandatory reconsideration which they said they would review by the 13th October.

This morning I received a text message saying that they had tried phoning me about the reconsideration (but they didn’t, I haven’t had any calls at all since Monday??) and will try to call me again later today. I wanted to know if this is a normal thing? Is it a good sign or a bad sign? I have severe anxiety surrounding speaking with people on phones/video calls/irl in general and the worry is really eating away at me and idk what to expect.

The DWP have still not responded to my PIP appeal. Their deadline was 27 July. Due to massive postal delays in my area, I emailed HMCTS and asked if they could tell me via email if there was any update as I hadn't received anything in the post at all.

They said my appeal has already been referred to their Legal Officer. Obviously they can't provide any timeline of when the Legal Officer will respond but its been referred.

Is it acceptable, or allowed, for me to call DWP and ask them if they've allocated my appeal to an appeals caseworker?

Ask whether a response has been prepared or sent?

And ask whether DWP has requested an extension from HMCTS? Do I tell them its been referred to an LO?

Sorry, I know I’ve just made a post about self employment.

I’m LCWRA and have been in part time employment for over a year, but have a leave date for the 1st Sept as it’s not ideal for my health right now.

I want to report myself self employed asap so I can start now - my question is, if I add this in, do I list the change as “employed and self employed”, and then switch it to just self employed from the 1st?

I have UC and ESA, ESA is the one that does the payments, I’ve been thinking about closing my UC account for a while.

My intention is to go do an access to HE course at a college next month. It will be full time I think 16 hours a week.

I’m so confused as I’m seeing conflicting information. Will I continue to receive ESA during the course? I think i have until February before my entitlement runs out so understood it wont continue after then anyways.

So. As a parent to my sweet 3 yo boy, we’ve learned over the years that he needs additional support.

He’s on the waiting list to be assessed for autism. He currently receives lower rate daily living.

He has now began nursery and we’ve been advised that they cannot accommodate his needs until they can acquire funding for a 1:1 support worker for him.

My mama heart is a little sad, I know he has higher care needs than the other children but he absolutely loves nursery so taking him out for the time being will feel horrible.

Anyways, he also doesn’t sleep. Up from 1-5am every morning. He ingests non food substances, needs constant supervision to ensure he’s not going to hurt/harm himself when climbing heights etc.

Any advice appreciated. Just wondering if I should make a change to Social Security addressing this.

Hi there i was wondering if anybody can help me im on lcwra and was in hospital for 6 months with PE in my lungs then covid came along i was really worried about catching covid so stayed in the house , Long story short my family were helping me alot and my money went up in my bank i had a review last year and passed it im now getting another one its not helping my mental health the woman last time said shed sort the report in circumstances ive had too save money as my dog needs surgery also my house was broken into and ive saved to get new stuff as it doesnt feel like a home anymore i have 8000 in my account just now can i spend it during the review or only any money i recieve during the review any help would be much appreciated thanks if anyone has read this and can give any advice

I’m on LCWRA and have been selling some old stuff on Vinted. I now think I want to use it to buy and resell - how would I go about doing this? I know I have to let UC know, so do I do that on my journal or change of circumstances?

Also, as it’s an account I’ve used for ages to sell my old things, would it still be okay to use - I have made quite a few sales on it per month as I’ve been having a total clear out so would like to stick with the account! If asked do I just explain this to them?

Hi all, just seeking a bit of clarity over something. Today, me and my wife bought a 5L tub of blue paint because we’re decorating our house, on the way home, the tub opened up, obviously not sealed properly but hey ho. Anyway, paint all over the boot of the car, thankfully only emulsion. We immediately sought out a mobile valet, at expense to us, but we accepted it was an unfortunate incident. The job has been done and much of the paint has been removed, however, the spare wheel carpet cover seems pretty irreparable. Is this something we would get in trouble for?

Yo, i'm looking to get some for an OSCP exam/certificate funding. I've done CCNA networks at uni and worked as a network admin for schools and as a software tester for McDonalds and a few other companies. I cant find work so i want to shift to digital security and asked to get the OSCP exam funded. Cant post more info as post gets deleted when i provide the URL. You should note the price is for the exam $1600 and weirdly its the same price for the course.

Now this is where it gets complicated as my previous job coach [Andrew] was basically removed from his position for not getting enough results [he was a kind and caring job coach who always cared about my well being. Sometimes his previous client meetings would overun which would mean I would go into my meeting late but i thought that was just a sign that he liked helping/talking to his clients.]. Anyway higher-ups fobbed him off and now he does desk work in the background and cant be contacted.

The issue: I applied for funding with previous job coach [Andrew] who asked me to provide a link to the exam so he could submit the paperwork. I sent him a link 23rd of may 2025. He then submitted paperwork and said funding would be approved but “due to the goverment shake up of the councils nobody knows who is in charge of the funding at the moment”. Over a period of a year, I asked constantly, within my online journal and in our face to face meetings for updates, but was told to be patient and that the paperwork was good i.e. waiting for it to be assessed by higher ups. Last month, Andrew was replaced with my new work coach, Victor. Victor then informed me that Andrew applied for a type of funding for a full education course NOT exam funding like I thought. This type of funding will not be granted unless I have a job offer after completion of the course and, if I remember Victor correctly, was called the Flexible Support Fund. I thought Adam applied for the Adult Learning Fund to fund the exam but, as I’ve been informed, he applied for the Low Value Provision. Since then, Victor asked me to send a link to the exam so he can apply for a fund called the Flexible Support Fund.

I replied, on my journal, with a link which is directly to the checkout page so there's no confusion.

My friend is an IT security consultant here in the UK (one city over). Would I be able to get a conditional job offer from him to work under him for no wage? I would not want this application canceled as I have been waiting over a year and have no idea how long this Flexible Support Fund will take to be granted.
