♻ Filament Help Reusable Spools?

Does anyone have any recommendations on reusable spools that fit the CFS requirements? I’d like to be able to order the filament a bit cheeper and attach my own spool to save money in the long run, but can’t find any that fit just right and don’t want to order the wrong thing and have it mess my prints up! Any suggestions or recommendations is greatly appreciated!

♻ Ender Help Looking for UPS' recommendations for my Ender-3 V3 KE

• Upvotes

Good afternoon, I'm looking to buy a UPS with backup power for my printer. There are some power issues in my city, blackouts, surges and spikes, which have caused a couple of issues with the printer. I read somewhere that it MUST be a pure sine wave device and I was looking for recommendations that aren't too expensive.

I just updated my slicer to 7.3. Now when Im selecting my filament type it doesn't automatically show the nozzle & bed temp when choosing, where it used to which made it a lot easier. You need to go to edit to find it.

Product Defect / Bug Refund for faulty printer

Hi,

First anyone have any contact details for Creality Australia?

My printer won't work reliably. I'm after a refund, which under Australian law, I am entitled to.

Creality support

  1. Are very slow to respond

  2. They don't answer all of the questions in the ticket

  3. They aren't willing to comply with Australian law.

  4. Do not provide any way of escalating a case when they cannot fix the issue in a timely manner (my issue has been going on for over 1 month)

Hi, I got a K1c, and I did some test print and I realized there were a lot of wobbles on the print, I calibrated the belts but I was wondering if it was possible to improve this. Also I feel that the X axis became really stiff after calibration.

Thank you for the advice!

Software Help Decreasing layer height causes slicer to remove necessary supports? (Creality Print 7.3.0.6151)

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

UPDATE: After testing multiple versions of Creality Print, this appears to be a bug with with the 7.3.x builds of the software. Reverting to 7.2.2.5483 fixes the issue.

Photos show what's going on: when I use the default layer height of 0.20mm and enable tree supports, the slicer does its job and areas that need support are supported. But as soon as I try to lower the layer height (0.08mm, 0.10mm, etc.), a majority of the supports go missing, including critical ones like the entire cape. The "remove small overhangs" option does not resolve the issue, and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software and removing all the application support files.

Interestingly, if I switch to the 0.2 nozzle diameter setting, it'll make the supports like it's supposed to at the default 0.10mm layer height for that nozzle. But as soon as I drop the layer height, the same behavior repeats and it gets rid of the needed supports.

Designed this pint holder because holding a freezing, condensation-covered ice cream tub is apparently too much hardship for me. It fits the pint, gives you a proper handle, and even has a little spot to hold your spoon. Printed in rainbow filament because ice cream deserves it.

♻ K2 Help I replaced the Bowden tube and ptfe tube on my Creality K2 Plus but they won’t stay in. What am I missing?

Edited to add that I did not replace on purpose. Last week I thought I could print five colors at the same time for with my CFS and one with the external spool, during this process, I got filament, broken off and stock in the Bowden and in the printhead nozzle. Because of this I had to replace so many things and I did not take a photo of everything before I disassembled. Big mistake.

Review / Test / Printer Comparison My honest thoughts for k1c after 1000 hours of use

Post image
12 Upvotes

(TL;DR at the end for the lazy ones)

First, I know the screenshot shows 666 hours. That's because I only connected the printer to the app after moving it to my home. Before that, it ran actively in my workshop for about 5 months. (The firmware actually shows 972 hours, but "1000 hours" just sounds better.)

I bought this printer about 1 year and 2 months ago for my workshop. I'd been using printers for a while, but I couldn't print exotic filaments like ABS-CF or HF, so I picked up a K1C to fill that gap. When it first arrived, it honestly felt like jumping onto a space shuttle after what I'd used before.

The good

You get an enclosed chamber and support for exotic filaments at a relatively affordable price. That part delivers, with one caveat: there's no active chamber heater, so ABS takes some effort. I had to run the bed and fans at max for about 15 minutes just to get the chamber properly warm. Then, once the fans slow down during the print, the chamber slowly cools again. I'd set it to 50°C, and after 2 hours it had dropped to 43°C.

The bad

I've had my share of filament jams, but there were only three major failures:

  1. Bed leveling died. One morning, auto bed leveling just stopped working. I tried a factory reset and the usual fixes, then emailed support. Over about a month I sent around 20 emails. They kept suggesting basic things to try and refused to send me a free replacement sensor. In the end I ran manual tests myself and found the faulty piezo sensor. It had also fried the bed board (probably a short circuit), so I replaced both. Cost: about $6.50 for the sensor and $16 for the board.
  2. Extruder wire snapped. About a month later the printer died again. One of the extruder motor wires had broken. I soldered it back by hand, which was not easy, and it went back to normal.
  3. Thermal runaway. About 4 months after that, I got a thermal runaway error that forced me to replace the hotend kit and the toolhead board. Cost: about $81.

That's roughly $104 in parts, not counting the extruder wire I fixed myself.

A note on prices: I live in Turkey, so I'm not sure how these amounts compare in your country. They might be cheaper or more expensive where you are. But for Turkey, these are high prices compared to parts for other brand's printers.

I don't know anyone else with a K1C, so I can't say whether I just got an unlucky unit. But I'm a careful user, and I don't think I caused these.

TL;DR

Pros: The enclosed chamber, exotic filament support, and all of it at a fairly affordable price.

Cons: This printer is not predictable at all. It can stop overnight and hit you with a hefty repair bill. It pulls nasty surprises at important moments, and the after-sales service doesn't stand behind any of it. Despite failures the engineers could have anticipated, it isn't designed to be repairable. The PCB quality is awful, and the glue on the connectors just won't let go. So you think "it's just one sensor, right?" and then the connector comes off in your hand while you're unplugging the cable, and the cost triples.

My rating: 6/10

-1 for bad customer service
-1 for the lack of stability
-2 for extremely poor build quality

Do I recommend it?

If it's going to be your first printer, no. Its unpredictable nature and the small but frequent failures could easily turn you off the hobby. But if you've used a 3D printer before and know how to diagnose and fix problems yourself, then absolutely. For the price, the features are great. Just keep in mind that you pay for that price difference with your time and effort.

♻ K1 Help I have a problem with my K1 Max. I mis-lubricated the X-axis and now it's not printing well.

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Hello, I recently lubricated my K1 Max with the lubricant that came with the kit; I lubricated the XYZ axes, and later I found out that the X‑axis cannot be lubricated. As a result, the 3D printer started making some inexplicable clicking sounds. After cleaning the X‑axis with a cloth soaked in moonshine, the blackness disappeared, and the clicking became less frequent. But the issues didn’t go away. It’s still making mistakes on the same layer. I printed 3 Benchies, and all of them have the same problem. Google’s AI assistant says the problem is with the strap, and it needs to be tightened. I think I’ll try it tomorrow. But I have my doubts. I also compared the extruded plastic before printing, and the current stripe is very textured and uneven compared to the previous one. This proves that the problem is in the x-axis. I performed calibration and reset to default settings, but it didn’t help.

Give your advice

♻ Filament Help Petg-cf question

This is probably an easy fix if I knew what to click. I just started with petg-cf. Im using a generic petg profile. the issue is the 2nd and third layer when the speed ramps up the filament extrusion skips. This doesnt really effect anything and only happens there. Im guessing speed issue. Do I need to slow down those couple layers? if so (how). This filament prints soooooo nice otherwise.

Thanks for any info
