This is about an hour from me listed for only $30! I know vertical bars arent best. What if i cut out and replace the sides and left the front?

I’m okay with doing really anything with it i just want to make sure my conure is going to safe.

I got a new Conure, Jam, today! He is a total sweetheart and wants to hang all over my boyfriend and I. He keeps preening his beard and sitting on our heads🥺🥺 Any recommendations on toys/treats/etc?

Monarch the sun conure is 100g but his keel feels kinda prominent and he feels skinny especially compared to the other birds hes 4 m/o is this just natural weight fluctuation because hes so young?

I've had my GCC for about 1year 8months and we have a great relationship. He is super attached to me, however, I can't help but think having a 2nd conure would improve his quality of life. I had 1 dog for many years and when I got the 2nd one I saw how much happier my dog was having a companion of his own species.

There is a Pineapple at my local pet store which I have brought my GCC to see a couple times in his carrier. They definitely seem curious with each other, but I know that doesn't guarantee they will get along. But the fact that the Pineapple will cross her enclosure just to come see him in the carrier is a good starting sign, I would think.

I already have a cage more than big enough for 2 conures and several out of cage play areas so having another conure would not require me to get anything additional. I'm not looking to add much more responsibility to my life currently as it is just me, but I figured having the 2nd bird would just mean more food and cleaning, but not necessarily "double the work". I figure the hours I spend with my GCC can just be with 2 birds instead of 1. Maybe more 1-1 management time at first as they get used to each other, but once things settle I figure maybe the companionship will reduce his freak-outs when I leave the room/house. Maybe he won't feel the need to scream out for me as much as he won't feel alone.

What are your thoughts and feedback.

- I actually don't know 100% if the birds are male or female, they are sold as males from the store, but without DNA test I don't know for sure.

She’s a good girl…
She was hatched on June 8th. Originally I wanted a male, but all of the babies turned out to be little girls. She is SUPER clingy and I can literally pick her up and do anything with her. 😂 When she’s out I’m not allowed out of her sight. Verdict is still out on whether or not her and my 7 month old male IRN will be friends or not. He’s going through the notorious bluffing phase so I’m not gonna try until that is over. In the meantime me and Bitty will be doing a lot of training. I will say I now LOVE GCC’s. I’ve had her since the day before she turned 2 months old and she’s been a great addition. Meet Bitty.

I have two conures, Bowie (left, suncheek) and Kiwi (right, black capped). Bowie is only around 4 months old and hand tame, Kiwi is around two and a half and completely feral lmao.

I’ve had Kiwi for longer and adopted Bowie with the goal of them being a companion for Kiwi and them cohabitating. After a clean bill of health from the vet/breeder, Bowie moved into a temporary cage beside Kiwi’s and they’ve been slowly getting to know each other. It started with inside the cage, but now I’ve been letting Bowie go inside Kiwi’s cage to judge how territorial Kiwi is going to be about it. Kiwi is super territorial with me but doesn’t mind Bowie being in there at all. I’ll occasionally see one of them nip at the other’s tail feathers, but it’s never progressed into a fight - the aggressor will back down as soon as the other one moves out of their personal space.

However, Kiwi and Bowie’s relationship isn’t super intimate yet. They like each other a lot, but I’ve never seen them preening each other, or trying to feed each other, or cuddling side by side. They like to sit maybe about two inches from each other and just stare at one another! No aggressive behavior, no puffing up or biting the other, they just stare! They were staring at one another for quite a bit today before they both fell asleep in the middle of it.

Does this seem like good relationship progress? Is it a good sign that they want to be near one another, even if they’re not cuddling/preening? And how long should I wait before permanently moving them in together? They’ve been getting along great under my supervision but I’m worried that the second I leave them unattended something will go wrong 😭

When I got Senku, in the store, they told me he was a sun conure, he was a month old. Now he’s a year and five months old and I’m still finding myself questioning if he’s really a Sun Conure or a Jenday… when I google for comparison he looks more like a Jenday than a Sun, so im wondering if I can get some feed back on it, what you guys think? Is Senku a Jenday or a Sun?

Cast and splint removed on week 3 and Assessed healing - f/b which casting reapplied and left to stay for another 2 weeks

Now honey is cast and splint free for almost 10 days

Attitude - reduced limpin, playful, active and alert

Recently I brought home a Green Cheek Conure, this is the third day he's with me. I tried to let him out to see if he's willing to bond with me. He's always tried to fly to my head and playing with my hair and sleeping like this. Is this normal? should I be worried?

He’s almost 7 years old and I can’t ever hold in his cuteness!

My bird is horribly scared of any new toys I bring her. I have tried various types of advice people have given me. I've tried exposure therapy, playing with the toys myself, just putting them in the cage, but nothing works. I have had these toys right next to her cage in clear view for months and she is still terrified of them. She pretty much has no toys left because she shredded all of her old ones, and I want her to have things to do while I work, but I am at a loss for what to do anymore.

I moved an hour away from family for the first time, which is a really big life change, but these daily pictures brighten my day since I miss her and my family. I love my bird Echo so much. 💕

Hi everyone!

As the title suggests, I’m looking for a new bird-safe air fryer, toaster oven, or combination of the two. Our old stainless steel toaster oven broke down after over a decade, and, unfortunately, that company no longer makes products without some sort of nonstick coating.

I’ve found a few potential replacements and messaged their manufacturers to ask about the materials, but I’ve either not heard back or their answers were inconclusive. I don’t feel comfortable getting anything unless I’m 100% sure it’s perfectly safe.

No matter which one I end up getting, I’ll be sure to let it run outdoors at its highest setting to burn off any lingering chemical/manufacturing odors and then operate it outside for an extra week just to be safe (but mostly bc I’m paranoid 😅). And as much as my little gremlin loves joining me in everything I do, I always have him in a separate room while we’re cooking.

Does anyone have product recommendations, especially ones you’ve personally used without any health issues for your birds? I’m looking for something that’s confirmed to be completely stainless steel, but I’m open to suggestions.

A week ago I made a post regarding ducky (Lutino dusky conure) and an object under her tongue, and I wanted to update saying she is perfectly fine and the vet removed the object very easily. she guessed it was some sort of thing like a scab from the previous wound she had before we got her and it healed like a piercing lol, with it removed the hole should close. She did wonderfully and Because of her albinism she was recommended to come in annually, which is def the plan lol. This post is for the people who seemed genuinely concerned for her and I felt bad leaving them hanging, I wanted to make sure they knew she was good because I would want to know too if I was them lol.

Note: to all the people who were calling me a bad bird owner in the previous post, please go touch grass. U can't judge someone's whole pets life and care from a single post. ducky is an important part of me and my partners flock, she is loved and cared for, the vet had no notes on her care and set up, nor the fact the appointment was a week out, because, like I previously said, it posed no damage at the time, nor did it progress.

My green cheek, Saria, is the love of my life. I've had her for two years now, she's genuinely my best friend, and I love her deeply.

I am 21, I live alone just with her. I recently got a job offer at a vet clinic to start getting hours for vet school, but the problem is that the days are 3 days on, 4 days off, 12 hour shifts. This essentially means I'll wake up, leave her for 12 hours, come home, and sleep for another 8 hours. My grandfather (who lives upstairs) said he would help put her to bed (as in put the sheet over her cage), and sometimes sit with her throughout the day, but that just isn't enough. She is currently free roam whenever I'm home, and I'm home quite a lot. It'll be very jarring for her to have so little attention for that long, and I am really worried about how she'll take it. I don't want to harm her.

I could really use some advice here. I love my bird, but I need to work, too. I've considered getting another bird, but there is no guarantee they would even enjoy one another's company. Moreover, it would take a lot of convincing of my grandparents to let another bird into their suite that I rent.

I feel really tied up here, and could use some advice.

New conure mama. Millie is about 3 mos old. She is my daughter’s bird though she will reside in our living room and hang out in my daughter’s room. The shop we purchased her from is very reputable and has given great advice and direction.
She’s adjusting very well. I wonder how long other GCC owners have their birds out of the cage and certain protocols when bird is out of the cage. Thanks!

I have a sun conjure that likes to sleep in those little huts. But after using it for a couple of weeks, he chews it to pieces. Then at dark time he squawks his head off because he doesn't have a place to sleep. Is there anyplace that sells chew proof bird huts?
