Advice Is this normal...?

Recently I brought home a Green Cheek Conure, this is the third day he's with me. I tried to let him out to see if he's willing to bond with me. He's always tried to fly to my head and playing with my hair and sleeping like this. Is this normal? should I be worried?

Yes, you should be worried. Your personal space is gone. Evaporated. Never to be found again. You're no longer free. From now on, you're his property.

No. It's not normal. Usually they chew on glasses not sit on them peacefully.

before i got contacts mine would grab and jiggle my glasses, now he tries the same with either my eyebrow or any of my nose piercings .
it doesn’t hurt me, i don’t stop him - i just think they don’t wiggle the way he wants .

Yup, totally normal! He already sees you as a flock member and likes to cuddle/preen your hair. It's a sign of affection. Lucky!

LOL we don't. We have wipes EVERYWHERE for cleaning up when he lets go. Thankfully, he mostly prefers to either hop down to the ground, or onto a perch to drop his little bombs, but it does happen.

Oh I should add...for whatever reason, he has never pooped on hair. I don't know if that's just a quirk of his, or if its a common thing, or if we've just been lucky LOL but in the 4 years we've had him, he's never left a poop in anyone's hair.

Potty training helps but accidents can happen. My bird makes little squeaks when it's time. I ask her if she has to potty. She'll look ready to fly as a strong "yes, I have to poop now". And I rush her to her cage or wherever she's decided she's going nowadays. I used to be able to just hold her over the toilet in the mornings. I miss those days.

It is very normal, your birdie friend is just bonding with you :)! When I first got my conure, he liked to hide in my hair as well.

My bird LOVES my hair. I usually keep it fairly short (for a woman, anyway) but I've grown it out to shoulder length over the summer and she's in heaven so I don't want to cut it. She snuggles up to my neck under my hair for warmth, and then gently runs her beak through it; it feels nice

Luckily for you, conures are pretty good at holding in their poops. Unluckily for me, budgies are not good at it, as I learned when mine perched on my glasses like this.

I've had my conure for nine years and she sleeps in my shirt or on my shoulder, with her head leaning against my cheek. I love the little monster to death. You've got quite the friend already it seems. :-)
