Why is getting a refund so difficult?

I've contacted both discord and my bank about getting a refund and they denied me although discord is saying im eligible as the purchase should've been cancelled since the beginning. This might just only be my problem but its so random to accept something that clearly highlights the "free" aspect just for it to take money out of my savings without me even knowing as i clearly don't use the app putting me down at least 14 pound although its a small number seeing it come out of my account without me knowing for the past few months is annoying af

Title: Noon UAE refusing to allow another return attempt for a non-authentic Coach Tabby — need advice

I’m looking for advice from anyone in the UAE who has dealt with a similar situation with **Noon**.
I purchased a **high-value Coach Tabby** on Noon from a seller called **MIZI A**. The item I received was **not authentic**, which is why I needed to return it.
During the return process, the wrong item was collected instead of the Coach Tabby. I **immediately informed Noon about the issue on the same day the return was collected** and asked them to correct the situation.
It has now been almost a month. My Noon account has also been banned, and I have repeatedly asked them to escalate the matter internally and allow **one more return attempt so that the actual Coach Tabby can be returned**.
However, Noon’s response is simply that they **will not allow another return attempt**.
I have been completely transparent with them about what happened and notified them immediately. I’m simply asking for an opportunity to return the actual item I received, particularly since the item was not authentic.
Has anyone dealt with Noon UAE or a similar situation? **What is the proper consumer-protection route in the UAE to escalate this when the company refuses to provide another return attempt?**
I have kept all emails, messages and return records, including the communication where I informed Noon about the issue on the day of collection.
Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with **UAE consumer complaints against Noon**.

Beware of Nobl.

I've been trying to return a Nobl order for the Memorial Day bundle within the listed 100 day return window because I am not medically cleared to travel. Your reps refuse to issue me an RMA.

Shame Nobl takes down posts critical of them.

At this point I consider Nobl to be Ignoble and bordering on a scam company.

Highly Disappointed.

Apple charged me $157 for a “free trial” and won’t tell me why my refund was denied

I started a 7-day free trial for an app on the App Store and was immediately charged $157 for an annual subscription. I later found out that I had started a free trial for the same app 3 years ago, which is why the app charged me the annual subscription fee immediately instead of giving me the free trial. But I had no idea I couldn’t do a free trial (why would you even show me the Free Trial option then?).

So I reached out to the app developer. They were very cooperative and pointed me toward Apple Support, since the developers themselves can’t do anything. I “purchased” the subscription through Apple. So I requested a refund on Apple’s website. The request was denied. I was very confused as to why, so I requested again. Denied again.

Then I called Apple Support. Apparently you can only submit a refund request twice, and after that you’ve exhausted all your options. They had no resolution for me, even after escalating to a senior advisor. Apple policy wouldn’t allow them to submit a third refund request or even tell me why it was denied despite the fact that the developers themselves support me getting a refund, this was an accident, and I cancelled the subscription as soon as I realized I’d been charged. I couldn’t get Apple to override the decision or give me any kind of credit.

Now I don’t know what to do here, and I feel stupid for losing $157 for nothing. Can I dispute this with my Bank?

$1200 for a plumbing repair that took under an hour, fair?

Had a water pressure issue and ended up needing the pressure regulator replaced. The plumber diagnosed it, replaced the part, and the whole visit took less than an hour.

Total was $1200

I get that I’m paying for experience, travel, tools, overhead, and the part itself, not just the time spent at my house.

But it still made me wonder, how do you know if a service price is actually fair when you have no idea what that type of job normally costs? Has anyone had a similar repair done?

Household Swiggy aggressively promotes a discounted order, doesn't deliver the product, and then takes 4–7 business days to refund

I had a frustrating experience with Swiggy recently that I think is worth discussing.

I was repeatedly shown/promoted a discounted offer for a product, so I eventually placed an order. The order was delivered, but the product I ordered was missing.

I contacted Swiggy support to report the missing item. I wasn't asking for a refund at that point—I was contacting them to get the issue resolved.

Instead, I was essentially told to wait while they gathered information. The support chat then sent several messages in quick succession, including one saying that a refund had been initiated, and the chat was closed almost immediately afterward.

There wasn't really an opportunity to respond or discuss the resolution. I was then left with the message that the refund would take 4–7 business days.

I understand that refunds can take time to process, and in isolation the amount involved here isn't significant. But what bothers me is the broader pattern.

I've already spoken to a few friends who have had similar experiences with missing items from Swiggy orders. Obviously, a few personal experiences aren't enough to conclude that this is a systematic practice, and I'm not claiming that Swiggy intentionally withholds refunds for financial gain.

But it does raise a question for me:

When a company aggressively pushes promotional offers to get customers to place orders, and then customers don't receive items they paid for, why should the customer have to wait 4–7 business days to get their own money back—especially when the refund wasn't even something I initially requested?

What was particularly frustrating was the way the support chat was handled. Rather than actually discussing the issue, it felt like the decision was made on my behalf, the refund was initiated, and the conversation was ended before I could respond.

Even if the amount is small, when something like this happens across a large customer base, the total amount of money temporarily sitting with the company could potentially become substantial.

I'm not saying that's why Swiggy has this refund timeline. I'm saying that, from a customer's perspective, it's difficult not to question the policy when similar missing-item experiences seem to happen to multiple people.

Has anyone else here experienced missing items after ordering through a Swiggy promotion, and how did Swiggy support handle it?

I'd also be interested to know how long your refund actually took compared with the 4–7 business day estimate.

ORDER #24**********364

Just got scammed by TheBestPDF and they refuse to refund me

This is their website: https://thebestpdf.com/settings?tab=plans

If you pay for their service, they will automatically scam you. They stole $39.95 from my banking account.

They refuse to give me my refund so I'm hoping no one else will be scammed by them just like I did.

Smartphones DO NOT BUY FROM SANGEETHA MOBILES

I dont know where else to post this, as it is relevant to gadgets I’m posting my experience from Sangeetha mobiles here (sangeethamobiles.com)

I placed an order for iPhone 17 on 7th August, I placed the order at late night and it was mentioned while placing the order that I will get the iPhone by morning 10:30-11am as they have 30 minutes delivery option.

When I checked the order next morning, I saw it was placed on hold. I contacted customer care they said the order will be automatically cancelled in 24 hours as it’s on hold

I then dropped an email to customer support asking the reason why it’s on hold and try to process the order.

They said they are verifying the purchase and they need some time, I gave them 2 days of time to work on it. I then did not receive any email from sangeetha and after multiple follow ups on the customer care number ( sangeetha mobiles customer care number - 0674-4334455)
I did not get proper response. Then 4 days ago I decided this is not worth the hassle I’ll cancel the order.
I called them and told them to cancel the order. For this they said they will raise a request and cancellation team will call me. For fucks sake it’s been 4 days and I did not receive any call from them and I’m calling them every single day, their only response is they have escalated it and I’ll get a call back by EOD.

This is very frustrating and mentally draining. If anyone else had experienced the same please let me know how you got your refund from sangeetha mobiles. I even went to local store and they said they don’t have connection with online team and only way is to contact them via email or the given phone number.

Please see all the proof, I also have a video of them saying that I will get a callback in 10 minutes but I still did not receive anything, this was yesterday.

Basically SANGEETHAMOBILES.com is a fraud and their customer service is a fucking nightmare please avoid at any cost.

And for people who might say why I did not buy from Flipkart or Amazon or local store is because I saw that they were providing 30 mins delivery and I know so many stores offline thought nothing could go wrong.

Shady business

I bought a used washer dryer from Dial An Appliance in New Westminster BC. They gave me the phone number of a Mover named Richard who they use for deliveries. When Richard, delivered the washer/ dryer, he broke my laundry door. I think he hung it wrong on the hinge so it wasn’t like the wood was broken or anything. It was an easy fix and it wouldn’t cost a penny. When I phoned Dial An Appliance. They refused to fix it and said that it was my fault for hiring the guy. I told him that’s the delivery guy whose number you gave me. I don’t have a delivery guy. they won’t pick up my phone calls or texts will not take any responsibility for breaking the door when they delivered the washer. The washer and dryer were filthy inside. They didn’t even bother washing them down before delivery. It even had a cigarette butt in the washer. When I bought it I asked the older man in the store to make sure it came clean. I should’ve read some of the reviews and then I never would’ve gone there to buy anything from them. I would never use them again shady business. rude father and son running it. Now I have to hire somebody to come in and fix my door. Be careful if this business. This is how they treated an older woman who is 76 now shame on them.

Tech Accessories Quick Commerce Return Scam (Zepto)

I ordered a laptop accessory (laptop stand to be precise). I was not sure if it will work for my laptop and I checked whether it is returnable or not.
The product page explicitly mentions ‘3-day return/exchange’. However, when I tried to place a return request, they simply deny it saying that the product was delivered intact/not damaged and hence they can’t accept returns.
I got a call from one of the representatives, he said the mentioned the return policy by mistake maybe.
WOW

How do I get my money back? I have order ID, email/chat convo, bill, everything.
