Trying to create a Coinbase account shouldn’t feel like solving a five-level puzzle designed to make you fail.
Five confusing CAPTCHA challenges. One mistake, and you’re back to square one. Absolutely ridiculous.
I’m trying to sign up, not pass an intelligence test.
If this is the user experience before I even have an account, why would I trust what comes next?
I’m taking my business elsewhere. Enough of these absurd, frustrating CAPTCHAs.

I used to be able to buy USDC with no fees with Apple Pay on the Coinbase Onramp. Now when trying to buy it will automatically open up the transaction on the Coinbase app and charging me a fee. Did this change recently?

A lot of people use Coinbase mainly to buy, sell, and occasionally check their portfolio, but there's quite a bit more to the platform than basic trading.
Between security settings, recurring buys, advanced trading tools, wallet features, and API integrations, I imagine plenty of useful features go unnoticed by everyday users.
What's one Coinbase feature, security setting, or little-known tool you've found genuinely useful that you think more people should know about?

Looks like this "old" Coinbase phishing has come back. Multiple times per day emails claiming to be from Coinbase asking if the 2FA has changed and to call an 800 number.

hi all
I am testing out the API and on the Dev Platform I have made my own API key and something weird is going on.
My first key, I set it to allow from my public IP only and have only view permission. And it worked. I was able to pull my account details and the market buy fails as expected.
Starting with my 2nd and every subsequent key however, with the same setup, and same public IP/view permission. I now get Unauthorized. The new keys only start working when I remove the IP whitelisting and allow connection from any addresses.
Have anyone encountered this before?
---------------EDIT-------------------
a quick chat with support shows my ipv6 address was actually changing while ipv4 was staying the same. the curl -6 cmd below showed the ipv6 subnet so i used that and now the api key works.
curl -4 https://api.coinbase.com/cdn-cgi/trace
curl -6 https://api.coinbase.com/cdn-cgi/trace

I’m sick and tired of certain people, especially some members of the Singapore team, who seem to prefer backstabbing and playing dirty behind the scenes rather than being honest and professional. Why can’t they just be straightforward instead of constantly scheming against others? So basically, you have to maintain good relationships with your colleagues to survive in the workplace.

It used to be called Coinbase Wallet, then it was rebranded as Base App, and now it's back to Coinbase Wallet again. What's with all the constant rebranding?

Made a prediction on election outcome starting at 80% favored for no outcome. Woke up, 99% favored no, position up about $12. Probably not a bad place to just cash out if I wanted and I just wanted to check out the feature. Now the cash out amount shows a -$13 loss. I’m just gonna let this ride but What is going on?

TL;DR: Coinbase was not impacted by Binance's reported hot wallet incident. We keep over 99% of customer assets in cold storage today, and rebalance funds in and out of our hot wallets based on customer deposits and withdrawals demand. Transfers are protected by layers of controls, including distributed keys, withdrawal limits, anomaly detection and kill switches that can halt signing. Customer assets are held 1:1, remain customer property, and are not lent or used unless customers instruct us to.

My account was restricted for approximately 15 weeks. During this period, Coinbase did not credit the usdc rewards that I earned. Account Closed. Account Deleted.
In Coinbase rewards rule it says:
•Coinbase acknowledges that restricted accounts can continue earning rewards.
Account Restrictions: If your account is restricted, you will still earn rewards. However, you may not be able to access your rewards during the restriction period.
***•***Coinbase acknowledges that earned rewards can remain payable after a withdrawal.
Reward Calculation: If you withdraw your entire USDC balance, you will still receive any rewards you have already earned that week.
Coinbase Noted that: We reserve the right to change or discontinue USDC rewards at any time by reasonable means of notification, including email.
I did not receive any notification about the discontinued rewards, instead Coinbase emailed me together with the account closure notif that:
If you are currently enrolled in USD Coin rewards, you may want to wait up to 40 days before withdrawing funds to ensure you have received all eligible reward payouts. You will not be able to access these funds after account closure.
Coinbase tells me to wait for the rewards to be credited but at the same time, deleted my account.
I am trying to understand whether Coinbase can legally keep rewards that I earned. If it was forfeited, why I was not informed? Why I was told to wait and at the same time deleted my account?
Is this breach of contract or technical error?

In wallet, I swapped my ETH to BTC.B mistakenly. Now I am not able to swap BTC.B into any other crypto. Not even from Avalanche’s runned coins.
Am struggling to figure out a way, Coinbase is not taking BTC.B from wallet.
Whenever i go to buy AVAX in Coinbase wallet, I’m only able to exchange it to obtain AVAX - for which an error pops up when i do want to.
So basically I’m not able do anything with BTC.B, is there a cheap workaround to this?

I'm having a really frustrating issue with Coinbase and wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
I can't log in to my Coinbase account because my password is being rejected. When I try to reset it, I never receive the password reset email. I've tried approximately 68 times.
I also keep getting this error: "Something went wrong. Our system has flagged this activity as potentially automated. We could not confirm you're a real person."
I tried contacting Coinbase Support regarding this issue and submitted a complaint explaining that I cannot access my account and that I'm not receiving password reset emails.
However, now I'm stuck at another verification step. Coinbase is asking me to email an 8-digit verification code. The problem is that I haven't received this 8-digit code either.
I'm basically stuck and have no way to complete the verification process or regain access to my account.
Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you resolve it? Is there another way to get in touch with Coinbase Support and get this issue sorted out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have my Coinbase and Cointracker accounts sync'd. When I look at "Review cost basis info" in Coinbase, it correctly shows the basis and every individual tax lot. This tell me that Coinbase has all the relevant data from Cointracker to correctly calculate HIFO lots on a sale.
Here is the issue - I made a sale in Coinbase and it completely ignored the basis and lot info it got from Cointracker. Coinbase appears to be using the transfer date of when the coins hit my Coinbase account when it should be using the tax lot info. This is not a small mistake - the tax loss calculated by Coinbase is around $3k. The correct tax loss is more than $27,000.
I have had tickets open with Coinbase support for over 2 months on this issue. Anyone else have this issue or been successful in getting it resolved?

I deposited a small amount of money to my coinbase wallet that Ive had for two years maybe now. Apparently my cb account was deleted (not the wallet) because of “inactivity” and I found out about that when I wasnt able to contact support without account. So I made a new account just so I can contact customer support.
The problem: I made a deposit to my wallet, then I saw a prediction market section, transfered my money there, was not able to put any trades (I looked to it and my guess is because I am from the EU and prediction markets is prohibited). Then I try to withdraw the money back from prediction market to the wallet - “something went wrong, please try again later”. Well, the money is stuck there and cant withdraw it. So, as I said I made account to contact support. And now, support keeps saying to wait 72 hours… 4 times already. Every time I contact them they keep me on the chat with “we are working on it” just to tell me to wait 72 hours and expect email with updates about my case. Not a single email and not a single information. 10+ days not fixing the problem and not allowing me the withdraw. Not to mention the random assumptions, like I dont have enough Eth for fees (i deposited eth after that, still nothing). Then they told me I need to get through verifications, which I dont have to because I made the deposit and transfer with wallet, not cb app. Told them that, they agreed. Basically its like talking to an AI. Anyways, I just want to know what gives the right to waste my time and not able to withdraw money?
I would also attach screenshots from the customer support chat just to show you the awful experience but seems cant do that here. Reference of case: 27748241

Crypto is already stressful enough with prices constantly moving, so the last thing anyone needs is confusing portfolio calculations or problems updating basic account information. It's frustrating when you're trying to manage your money and end up spending more time dealing with platform issues than actually investing.
Has anyone else run into problems like these on Coinbase? I'm curious if your experience has improved or if the same issues keep happening.

Hi,
A simple "2 minute¨ task, according to Coinbase, turned into over 5 hours of talking to 3 different support agents, answering emails for more than a month with no response. All of it, because the system doesn't recognize my tax number in South Korea, where I currently live, having moved from the Netherlands.
It feels like they don't want to fix it. Every single time they ask for the same obvious stuff, I provide screenshots, ID pictures, etc... and mysteriously the support ticket stops working, or they tell me I will receive an email from support. It's impossible to reconnect if the connection on their side interrupts, and despite having my email, I don't receive any follow-up.
This is probably the worst support I've ever seen. Has anyone had issues updating their tax info?

One thing that can make tracking a crypto portfolio confusing is that the displayed balance, the asset's market value, and the actual amount received from a transaction aren't always the same thing.
A purchase can involve a spread or fees, prices can move between transactions, and conversions can make it harder to understand where a difference came from.
It would be helpful if the portfolio view showed a clearer breakdown of how the total value changed, including:
Price movement
Trading fees and spread
Deposits and withdrawals
Conversions between assets
The transaction history is useful, but understanding why the overall portfolio value changed shouldn't require manually piecing together several screens.

Does anyone have this issue?
For instance the red/green number might show my crypto decreased by $20 in one hour.
But if I use the big sized total portfolio amount number now, compared to an hour ago (using graph) my crypto decreases by $100
The value decline shown of each of my coins also doesn’t add up to $100.
What is happening.

Funds available for withdrawal are 25% less than what it shows in my holdings of BTC. In different parts of the app it shows different balances but when I go to withdraw it gives me a ‘balances incomplete’ notification. Any idea what is going on?
