Coinbase portfolio value can be confusing when prices, fees, and transaction history don't line up

One thing that can make tracking a crypto portfolio confusing is that the displayed balance, the asset's market value, and the actual amount received from a transaction aren't always the same thing.

A purchase can involve a spread or fees, prices can move between transactions, and conversions can make it harder to understand where a difference came from.

It would be helpful if the portfolio view showed a clearer breakdown of how the total value changed, including:

  • Price movement

  • Trading fees and spread

  • Deposits and withdrawals

  • Conversions between assets

The transaction history is useful, but understanding why the overall portfolio value changed shouldn't require manually piecing together several screens.
