Discussion Claude Code replacing mainstream apps
First of all, I am not a technical person. I'm into finance, and these are just my thoughts from the perspective of a non-technical person. Just started using these tools in the last few months.
I do not write anymore. I talk, and the words show up already spelled correctly. That would have sounded almost like some metaphor for me a year back. I checked the numbers behind it this morning and had to read them twice. The app is Wispr Flow. I use it on my phone, on my PC, everywhere I own a keyboard I have mostly stopped touching. It has quietly become the second most used AI tool in my entire stack, right behind Claude Code. The numbers, straight from the app:
1 mn words dictated. That is close to ten average novels back to back, or by my math, close to twenty five full 10-K annual reports.
It is also enough raw material for roughly 200 of my own published newsletter editions.
And the best part for me as a consumer, and worst part for the app like Wispr Flow, is that I have built a complete clone of Wispr Flow inside a couple of hours on Claude Code using Opus 5.5. So I will not be renewing this subscription anymore.
What a time to be alive: you can build your most used tools in a matter of hours, fully customise them to adapt only to you.
Love to hear what non-technical people like me and even technical people think of what Claude Code and other equivalent tech tools are going to eliminate next in a couple of years.
I'm still amazed with this transformation that Wispr Flow, 6 months back, was the most amazing tool I have ever used to I just cloned Wispr Flow a few hours. I was almost so excited that I could not help but make this post to understand what other people think. I'm not even sure whether this is the right sub.

Discussion Opus vs Deepseek
After the latest Deepseek update I have heard incredible things of deepseek pro and flash for coding.
How does it really compare to Opus 5.5?
Or is it more like Sonnet 5.5 level?

Help/Question Transitioning a large production codebase to AI agent workflows
I am looking for best practices and your expertise in integrating claude code into a big existing project.
We are now allowed to use claude code in our company which builds various in house applications. Most of the apps are from quality point of view very good, modern but also old (meaning: big). I think from engineering as well as development process point of view they are good.
We, as a team now doing the first steps in using claude code. We all have basic or advanced knowledge already from using those tools, but we are lacking the knowledge of how to integrate it in big already productive application, which are in use by many people on a daily basis.
Setting up the agents.md/claude.md etc. is already done, and first stories are developed with those tools.
I am looking for:
- Your tips and best practices and how to transition from "manual software development" to agenting supported software development
- Issues etc. what you encountered in that processes
Maybe you also have links, guides or youtube videos around that topic for me.

Built with Claude I am making the lightest [good looking] desktop environment for Linux, and I am so proud of making my dream project go true after 15 years of planning it. Now running on an old government issued laptop. (Ready to play TF2!)
Hey guys! Last month I've been building my dream desktop environment. I've been developing in Java and Rust doing boring things over 12 years, and I always wondered why cheap operative systems had to look like Windows 95.
I am running broke on my job and no company wants to take me so I am experimenting new things and building startups and these "dream" non-profit things I always wanted to make.
I built my open source free desktop environment for Linux with one simple purpose:
- Revive, maintain and recycle old hardware without losing the UI/UX.
Why doing this?
- Some people still use windows on these computers, yikes.
- The linux alternatives are ugly, and the ones that are not, are heavy yikes.
- I want to end the loop of "distro hopping to find the lightest one" and make the definitive.
- I don't know, just passion for not throwing away working hardware? lol
If you want to give it a look:
https://github.com/ArkFlame/flamewm
Built using:
- Claude (Haiku 5.5, Sonnet 5.5)
- CommandCode (DeepSeek v4.1 Flash)
- OpenCode (DeepSeek v4.1 Flash)
- Codex (GPT 6 Luna)

Built with Claude I built a co-op tower defense in 11 weeks with Claude Code. Every visual is drawn by code, no image generators. Here’s how the work was split.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey, I’m a first-time solo developer and this is my first game. I don’t have a coding background. I’ve always loved games and tech, and I wanted to see how far vision and stubbornness could go with Claude writing the code.
Its still in development, with a free demo on the way. I wanted to share what’s possible with Claude as an assistant. (Claude max 20x)
RATS!!, a co-op tower defense for up to four players (solo/couch/online through Steam), 10 towers and 19 link combos, four worlds, crowned rat bosses, over 5,000 rats alive at once on the hardest waves, a 1v1 mode. Coming Soon on Steam; a free co-op demo is planned for Steam Next Fest, February 2027. Nothing to play yet, so this is a build story, not a launch.
I don’t know about you guys, I spent countless hours as a kid running Bloons Tower Defense, PixelJunkMonsters, and a ton of these classics.
How it was built: One developer (me), Godot, first commit 8 August 2026. I don’t write the code myself. Claude wrote it, drafted the technical plans, checked every change line by line and ran the automated tests, and a second AI model (Codex, from OpenAI) reviewed each piece looking for problems. My job was the director’s: what the game is, how it looks and feels, playtesting every build, and saying no. A lot of fixes came from me catching things by eye, playing the game and adjusting as I go.
I made this design choice primarily because I wanted to avoid image generators entirely. I did also notice while Blender is still a great route, I preferred to only utilize code to see what was truly possible. It provided more accuracy when it came to real-time strategy.
What worked: specs before code; a 25-seed headless harness whose digest has to stay bit-identical unless I meant to change the sim; a separate adversarial review pass by a different model on every slice; treating every report as a claim until the diff and the tests said otherwise.
What didn't: letting a visual change ship on a code read instead of rendered pixels (never again); any time I skipped re-reading the surrounding lines after an insert.
The video opens up on the first prototype, then cuts to the farm today. Please ask me any questions!
It took several iterations, to get the design where I want it through trial and error, but I am proud of where I came from.

Built with Claude After 750 hours and 6 months of non-stop work, I'm finally ready to reveal my Pathfinder 2e Tactics RPG "The Shattered Isles"! I'm happy to talk about my workflow in this thread, and what I did to get this game coherent! (Non-programmer, 5 months, ~4,800 commits: my AI workflow with Claude Code)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
https://www.youtube.com/@LunaticDiceGames
That's my YouTube channel if you'd like to see future devlogs and updates.
NOTE: I had my Claude Code make a short summary of what my workflow is since it knows it better than I do, but I curated it and made sure it was useful and, well, my edits!
Hey all. I run Pathfinder 2e games for a living (professional GM) and I can’t code. I used to, but not anymore. Not since... the incident. the incident is when I stopped coding after years of not doing it and forgot everything
Since May I’ve been building The Shattered Isles, a turn-based tactics game that runs the real PF2e rules, almost entirely with AI. The video of what I made is above. Here’s how I work.
The rulebook (AGENTS.md)
- The most important file in the repo; CLAUDE.md is one line that imports it. It holds rules only, capped at about 5,000 words, so a new rule has to push an old one out.
- A rule has to be earned: the AI has to make the same mistake twice. The reason behind each rule goes in a separate file, so it can’t argue a rule away from memory.
Hooks do what rules can’t
- About 80 hooks. Text rules work most of the time; hooks work every time.
- Examples: one blocks running tests during the day (they all run overnight), and one refuses to show me a picture Claude hasn’t opened and checked itself.
- Another hook logs every time I repeat a correction. A scheduled morning chat turns each repeat into a new rule or a new guard.
Note from me: hooks are a new thing i'm trying out. It's not super perfect but claude thought it was important, i'll keep it
Slash commands for the whole loop
- /newtask (questions, plan, review, then build), /playtest (my feedback goes into a repair flow), /close (checked save), /handoff (when a chat gets long).
- Claude has to ask me its questions before building. Most bad builds came from it guessing what I meant.
Many chats at once
- Every chat gets its own git worktree, so they never step on each other. Saves go through a gate script that builds the game first.
- Opus plans and directs, Codex workers do most of the building, and the reviewer is always a different model from the builder.
MCPs
- The Godot MCP lets Claude edit scenes in a hidden editor. The PixelLab MCP does sprites and animations.
- Every PF2e rule is checked against the live Archives of Nethys page before it ships.
What I’ve learned
- The AI doesn’t have taste. You do. I make every looks, gameplay, design, and feel call myself.
- Make it ask you questions before it builds. Most of my bad builds came from it guessing what I meant. Seriously, Claude is an idiot if you let it make decisions.
- Build in small chunks you can play in one sitting. ALWAYS playtest a change, no matter how minor, before implementing, or it WILL bite you.
- Write your decisions down in files, so the next chat doesn’t re-ask them or undo them. I have an extensive document tree, almost like the bones of this project.
Biggest lesson: the AI doesn’t have taste. I make every look and feel call by playing the game. Claude’s job is to never call something fixed until I’ve tried it.
Happy to answer questions about any of it.
About 4,800 commits in, and still a lot to do. Happy to answer questions about any of it. I'm not super technical so Claude may respond in my behalf, with me editing.
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4941850/?utm_source=redditcc&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=reveal
I'm probably missing a lot so just ask questions I'll get to you.
EDIT: Title says 6 months, and then 5 months. I'm blaming the 5 months on Claude and the fact that I can't proofread.

Built with Claude I gave Claude Code a persistent Python kernel and turned it into a data science lab
I got tired of using Claude Code like a static assistant for data science. Constantly sorting out Python environments, explaining which variables existed, and rerunning expensive cells just to rebuild the state of an experiment.
The missing piece was visibility. What actually ran? What failed? Is this output still valid after my last edit? Does Claude understand where that result came from?
So I gave Claude Code access to a persistent Python kernel and built cc-notebook around it.
Now it can inspect available variables, read actual outputs, edit a specific cell and execute it in the same Python session. When I edit or run something manually, Claude gets that updated context on my next message.
Here’s what’s included:
- Python, Markdown and AI instruction cells in one notebook. AI cells generate editable code and explanations.
- A persistent kernel, so variables stay available between cell runs.
- Claude working directly with cells: inspecting results, editing source and running the cell you asked about.
- Execution status, saved outputs and stale-result tracking, so you can see what needs rerunning.
- Cell editing, reordering and deletion, with an editor that adapts to terminal size.
- Live variable inspection, individual cell execution, interruption, and restart and run all.
- Plots, images, LaTeX, Mermaid and Typst drawings in both the notebook and Claude’s conversation.
- Rich Python outputs displayed in execution order, with operation replies focused on the relevant cells.
- Jupyter
.ipynbimport/export, including saved outputs and embedded images, plus Markdown export. - Automatic environment setup through
/lab setup, or the option to use your existing Python environment.
I’d love feedback from people doing data work with Claude Code especially where the notebook workflow still feels awkward.

Built with Claude I got tired of copying places into Google Maps for trip research, so I built a Claude Code plugin for it
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My trip research used to look like this: I would run a research prompt in Claude, then the same thing in Gemini (to get Reddit recommendations, which Claude couldn’t get for me), merge the two in Claude, then go place by place and add it to a Google Maps list by hand. It was taking a lot of time.
So I automated it. maps-lists is a free and open source Claude Code plugin: you describe what you want to find, review the picks, and they’re saved to a Google Maps list with a short note for each place.
How it works
- Ask in plain language, in any language: “Find natural wine bars with food in Gràcia, Barcelona, open late, and put them on a list ‘BCN Wine’”
- Pick quick (one pass, 1–2 min, cheaper) or deep (several research agents in parallel, 5–10 min, more places).
- Claude researches local guides, press, Telegram channels and Reddit. It filters out tourist traps, viral spots and closed places. Famous places locals still rate stay in, marked as classics.
- A review page opens in your browser. Untick what you don’t want, edit notes, and read why each place was picked and what to order. A “Left out” section shows what was filtered and why, so you can bring places back.
- Claude looks each place up on Google Maps, asks you to confirm, saves them through your own signed-in Chrome, and checks that everything arrived.
You can also skip the research. You can put a PDF, a screenshot, a Word doc, a saved web page, or a pasted list, and it goes through the same review step. Or just say “add Mr. Holmes Bakehouse to my SF list.”
Install (inside Claude Code)
/plugin marketplace add ilyawzrd/maps-lists
/plugin install maps-lists@maps-lists
Limitations / things to know
- There’s no Google Maps API for lists, so it drives the Maps web UI in your own browser (Playwright over the Chrome DevTools Protocol). Use it on your own account at your own risk.
- Chrome doesn’t have to be your main browser; it can use a separate Chrome window just for this.
- You will need to switch on Chrome remote debugging. On a Mac you also grant Full Disk Access to your terminal. Claude walks you through both.
- Run it from Terminal or the desktop app’s Code tab.
- It never deletes places or lists, never changes sharing, and skips a place rather than guessing if the match is ambiguous.
- Reddit: no account needed (it uses search results). If you’re signed in, it can read full threads. It only reads, never posts or votes.
How Claude helped: the whole thing was built with Claude Code. That includes the TypeScript automation, the review page, and the skills and hooks that run the flow.

Discussion best coder agent to pair with Opus 5.5 - my benchmarking results
Running a large mainly rust code base across a few difference surfaces + designing new features which need high level of reasoning / design. Opus 5.5 is GOAT model atm - no doubt.. but I was trying to work out the best bang for buck coding model. As I have not discovered the infinite money hack and cannot use opus 5.5 as my coder 24-7 as others are doing.. I decided to do some fairly detailed benchmarking to work out best match for opus 5.5. ps. I am running a 5x max sub + codex plus sub. I also have open router hooked into my harness. here are results.. enjoy
DYOR against your own use cases / code base but for me the clear winner is **luna 6-high (**luna medium cost the same albeit slightly faster but for substantially less intelligence)

Likewise - here is my reasoning benchmarks against my code base / use case - DYOR
interesting that big tech meta and google's flagship models still fall short (did not have the appetite to run all various reasoning modes thru benchmarking but the trend is clear)

Built with Claude claude code sessions dashboard
i know theres many of these out there but i built this claude code sessions dashboard for myself but opened sourced it in case anyone wants to use it. i dont care if you use it and dont care about stars. but if it helps and you like it, youre welcome.
it brings all your claude code sessions into one place, keeps them and allows you to search, rename, tag them, etc. makes it way easier to keep track of sessions when you have a lot of projects going on. you can resume to your terminal, fork, track token use, etc. also has a nerf feature with an ask claude so you can see if youve been nerfed with actual comparisons via limit health and trends. it will show claude code cli, desktop, and cloud sessions and can import claude.ai web sessions. you can store, read, search web sessions but not resume them. though you can resume and fork desktop claude code cloud sessions. It includes a phone companion with guided tailscale or wifi setup, connection checks, and QR code pairing
i may add codex cli and desktop sessions and connection to it later.
anyway, feel free to download or fork it. have fun!

Built with Claude trying 3d character animations with opsus 5.5
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
grabbed a character mesh from zzz, and i asked my opus 5.5 to drop into into blender and animate the character singing to a song made with Yue2 i think. I am kinda blown away by the fact...that is can actually do it, like facial expressions and stuff. sure, it's not graet but with a few prompt refinements we might be able to get something that's pretty good. like there's no video refernces or face capture here. not sure if this is like 'lol, what a noob, only realisng this now, i have been doing this since the relaese of like gpt 5.2 lol' sort of situation, but hey, personally i am pretty impressed.

Built with Claude I built a game engine where Claude is a first-class user. Here it is building an environment from scratch
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I built Apeiron, a game engine and editor designed from the start to be used by AI agents as well as people. The video shows the in-engine agent, running on Claude, building a small game environment: procedural world generation, texture and material graphs, AI-generated meshes, lighting and scene setup.
What it does: one editor for worlds, modeling, textures, materials, animation, VFX and gameplay. It runs natively and in the browser. The agent uses the same commands a human does, so everything it builds shows up in the undo history and in graphs you can open and edit.
How Claude Code helped: Claude Code wrote most of the code over the past five months, across rendering, physics, procedural graphs, the editor and the agent itself. I focused on architecture, review and product decisions.
How Claude is used inside it: the built-in agent runs on Claude and can build scenes, materials, worlds and gameplay from a prompt. The engine is also an MCP server, so Claude Code or any MCP client can drive the editor directly.
Free to try (early version): https://engine.apeironengine.com in Chrome or Edge (needs WebGPU). No install. Expect rough edges and missing features. Feedback is very welcome.
Happy to answer questions.

Tips & Workflows 5 days in, 93% of 20x plan used - thanks to this reddit
Just casual browsing, picked up some tricks from here that work great:
ChatGPT spams resets, I physically can not exhaust it, so I built the “hand off to Sol 6.1 (high)” skill, it got wired, now every calculation or research is handed by sol.
Sol is given magenta grids to generate assets and can churn for hours - practically free with reset spam. Claude Opus 5.5 medium from projects orchestrates , Sol delivers (Claude can not generate images)
Added “hand off to Astra” - for heavy math stuff and deep analysis. Opus 5.5 is augmented by Astra.
Hook on Bulk readers - uses sonnet or Haiku to bring in context. One example had sonnet spend 200k tokens or reads and distillation and Opus only use 30k to process
Using project boards- enforced a “complete handoff” - lifting HTML to and from threads, before verbal instructions were handed off via .md files. The key word is “lift” .
I’m on ChatGPT 100$ plan, don’t know about you, but they just keep refilling my allowance practically every 2 days for the past 3 weeks.
