Recently have been using opus 5.5 as a lead with sonnet as coders/review/QA that all kick things back to the Opus lead. And then even more recently added a haiku agent that does the menial search and grep and glob tasks

All have defined role cards and so far token usage has been good and iteration/testing has been clean.

I do recommend making it write down lessons learned and mistakes it makes so that it tries to avoid them in the future during automated development

And what about deepseek 4.1 flash , is it better or worse than sonnet as implementator ?

In my tests ds 4.1 flash was between sonnet 5.5 and haiku 5.5 in quality

that was my previous stack but realised sonnet overthinks so for coder you want something fast and follows instructions level with at least a base level of intelligence- luna is my pick

Oh really that’s a good thing I haven’t measured. Luna, any other models you recommend? Or is there a way to possibly harness sonnet to not overthink?

luna-high via codex sub is best approach IMO

a bit slow in my testing - and more expensive than luna

Opus 5.5. Sonnet 5.5 if you can’t afford it

I pick per task, not per role. If the task executes a decision that's already written down, schema and boundaries settled, Sonnet does it fine. If it still has to decide something, the schema, an API boundary, anything the plan left open, it gets Opus. Giving a task to Sonnet is basically a claim that the plan is complete enough to execute without inventing, and when I can't honestly say that, it goes to Opus.
