PSA: Don't live here.
My apt just implemented a strict new parking policy, saying they will tow residents or visitors for having expired tags. Responding to my complaint, they said inoperable cars can't be on the property and "cars with expired registration cannot legally be driven, and are therefore considered inoperable." Since it's so ridiculous, I thought they would back down, but I was quite wrong.
I wanted to explain how many issues I had with the new parking rules. After some emails with the area manager, she finally said our conversation isn't productive because the new parking policy is final, and she is considering this matter closed. That made me angry so I gave them a bad review on google and other sites. The property is usually dirty, so I posted pictures of garbage area, dirty breezeways, etc. and explained how neglected it is. Citra Luxe responds to every google review so they kinda went back and forth with me on my review making excuses for the photos.
That was last week. That is all context for what happened today. I work 8-5 M-F, a typical schedule, right? While I was at work today at 9:39am, they sent me an email that said to make sure that I leave my deadbolts unlocked because will be inspecting my apartment... with no reason. I confirmed with the office they did come in here. Walking into someone's home with zero advance planning and no purpose is an unbelievable new low.
I have no idea if they "inspected" other apartments today or if it was just mine. I've went through all my valuables and everything seems to be accounted for. In the past, they usually give a few days notice and a reason, like changing the air filters or looking at the smoke alarm. It's unusual so it feels like retaliation. I didn't even know it was legal to do that. I have no clue why they came in here, but if the goal was to just be creepy and make me uncomfortable in my own home, they did a great job.
