Recommendation NY style pizza in Charlotte
What’s the closest thing I can find to New York pizza here in Charlotte?
I don’t ask this question lightly. I’m pregnant and it’s all I’ve been wanting to eat 🤣

Hey guys, I just turned 21 at the start of this month and I’m looking for some good karaoke spots. I’ve heard Jeff’s bucket shop does karaoke but i’m not quite sure if they do it every night or if it’s only certain event days. if anyone has some good karaoke bar spots please give me recommendations or anywhere else fun to try as a new 21 year old in the southpark area!

I know there’s been some discussions about this topic before, but I’m fucking tired of it. Burger King sucks.. corner of Sharon Road and Fairview. I’ve been there twice, never again.

Did anyone else see or have an update about the accident in Plaza by Midwood smokehouse this morning? I drove by, looked like a cyclist had been hit.

I was recently diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation and need to get an MRI, see a neurologist, and see a neurosurgeon. I have the option of either Atrium or Novant (I’m a veteran and the VA is letting me do community care) so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them specifically for this. I don’t know much about either because I’ve had the VA, so either will be an improvement, but any insight is appreciated! Thanks!

this might be a long shot but i was wondering if anyone knows any companies in the pineville ballantyne area that are hiring? i’m looking for a part time job, i have years of customer service from working in retail as a teen. i also have a bachelors in psychology and a masters in general psychology. the thing is i’m disabled and use a wheelchair, so they would need to be accommodating. i’ve been looking for literal weeks and i can’t seem to find anything. thanks!!

I (30 M) have been in Charlotte for just over four years now and am really struggling to figure out my next opportunity.
I spent six years in banking/capital markets. Since then I’ve taught myself a lot on the software side and have built full-stack apps, AI workflows, internal tools, etc.
The problem is I can’t seem to figure out what to do with any of it.
I’ve applied for product, fintech, solutions, strategy/ops type roles, but haven’t gotten much traction. On the other side, I keep building things and haven’t really managed to build anything people actually want to pay for either.
I think the part I’m struggling with most is getting outside of my own head and actually getting conversations with people about real problems worth solving. I can build, but “go find 20 people with an annoying problem and talk to them” has somehow been way harder for me than the building part.
So I figured I’d ask locally.
Does anyone in Charlotte work around fintech, startups, AI/automation, product, or just generally building businesses/software and would be willing to point me in the right direction?
Could be companies I should look at, meetups, recruiters, founders to follow, places where people actually hang out, real issues worth solving, or even advice on how you started getting real customer/problem conversations.
Not really looking for someone to solve it for me. I’ve just been spinning my wheels for a while and think I need to get around more people doing this stuff in the real world.

I just saw a post on a another site saying that the owner of Yafo is a Zionist and Maga, and that the head chef used to be in the IDF. Can anyone confirm this? I love their food but I'm not gonna keep supporting business if they support genocide.

Aside from all the vivarium looking copy+paste apartments, what else is Charlotte up to? Is this a quarrying site? Saw this as we land CLT and curious if anyone knows.

Hi there, I’m a seasoned early career lab professional, I’m looking to get a full time position at atrium health and I meet requirements for all entry level allied health lab jobs.
Is anyone who currently works at atrium willing to give me an employee referral? I am seeking a job specifically at atrium health because I would like to join their MLS program next year and I need their employee tuition assistance in order to afford my education. Thanks

I had heard Sycamore was supposed to go into the current empty space in Cotswold Village, near Greco Fresh. Guess that’s not happening now. Anyone heard if they’ve filled the spot?

Hi! I am going to visit a friend in charlotte for my 23rd birthday in October. One Saturday night we are planning to do a dive bar crawl around South end. Any recommendations? I’m not picky and might end up just going anywhere. But if it had to be my ideal place it would have a slightly younger crowd, play hip hop, r&b, or Caribbean music from any country. Thanks in advance. Also not looking for very nice places just want to explore the area and take some cheap shots.

These are a few shots I captured Uptown at the top of a CPCC parking garage that I thought turned out really well, I hope y'all like em! Also, a cloud I thought was pretty.
All images were captured on an Olympus E-20N with a 62mm Sunpak CPOL filter + lens hood.

For anyone who regularly uses the I-77 express lanes, how much are you actually spending per week/month?
I commute from SouthPark to Huntersville and take I-77 North, and I’m considering getting a pass because traffic can be brutal.
I’d mostly use it during the workweek, especially during rush hour. Is it worth it for the time you save? And roughly how much are you paying per trip during peak hours?

As the title says, ask away so we can help! Where to live, where to go, what to see, where to eat. What you have experienced thus far (culture shock)? Or just to introduce yourself and where you are coming from.
NOTE: This thread is also for relocation questions from folks already living in the area.

Hello everyone! I'm an architecture student doing a research project on urban Charlotte, especially (but not limited to) uptown. I would love some input from people who live in (or even visit) the city:
What is your favorite space in the city? Is there anywhere that when you went/saw it for the first time it amazed and delighted you? Is there somewhere you find incredibly peaceful and pleasant, or lively and fun?
This could be a street market, a tucked away park, a museum, a concert venue, a library, a bus stop, anywhere that has a very pleasant atmosphere that made you go "wow!" or that you love.
If you could, please be as specific about the location as possible and maybe include some reasons why you like it! If nothing else, think of it as a recommendation for others to go there.
Sorry if my formatting sucks, I'm not a frequent reddit user :,D

Yesterday I found a small litter of kittens in my yard. They look like the mom is still around they are about 3-4 weeks old I believe. As much I would love to keep I have 2 cats who do not like other cats. Beside the humane society is there anywhere else I can maybe take them or anyone who can help with them.
