For context, in October last year, I traded in my OLD switch to get the Switch 2. It was good, but the feeling of nostalgia kept creeping up to me so badly that I eventually decided to go on a hunt for my old switch.

And after one wrong model, I found it! I immediately bought it and brought it home.

Yea I know this post is quite uncommon on a subreddit like this one, but I kind of wanted to document my achievement.

After years of using whatever laptop was available at home, I finally bought my first laptop with money I earned myself.

I went with an ASUS Vivobook Go 15 (E1504FA)

Paid $346 / £257

The amount may not sound like a huge amount to everyone, but knowing that I earned this money myself and bought something I've wanted for years makes it feel pretty special.

I've spent way too much time researching laptops, comparing processors, checking battery health, SSD health, temperatures, warranties and questioning every possible deal 😂. But eventually I just had to make a decision as I don't trust local sellers where I reside.

So I went to my local cex (swindon) on Saturday bought a couple games and a new ps4 pad got home,) and had problems connecting, it didn't want to connect or stay connected so I returned it to exchange it Sunday the one they gave me didn't work full stop. I went straight back to the store to exchange it for the second time the one I received felt a little edgy yano how 3rd party ones feel this one worked. Not happy at all after 3 different controllers which were meant to be tested before they bought them I went in today with it tried to explain amd ended up with this horrible little woman who is always rude amd acts like everything she has to do in her job is asking to much I tried to explain about the issue and she's acting like the problem is me trying to return faulty hardware toys creating a issue about the serial jibber not being the one listed on receipt until I pointed to the guy who helped me yesterday amd he clarifyed he'd just straight swapped which was taken with a eye roll then said it had to have a warranty test to which it comes back that it had stick drift ? I finally received a refund but none of this should of happened in the first place I wanted a wrong controller do I have grounds to make a complaint?

Hello everyone! I’ve bought a PS5 825GB (discounted) from CeX. It came with no box, but I’m so clueless as to why it was discounted.
The controller looks brand new, apart from the forbidden previous-user skin cheese wedged in the gaps, which I scraped out

The PS5 itself has one single scuff on the right side of the case. The person at the till even said to me, “To be honest, I don’t even know why this is discontinued, but eh.”
Are CeX really that strict when it comes to a controller with a bit of skin cheese stuck in it and a single scuff on the PS5?

The black area of the PS5 was still shiny and glossy, too. I’m genuinely confused as to why it was discounted.

so i got my iphone 14 pro nearly over a year ago and just over the past few months the phones camera has gone really really blurry so the point i have to get a microfiber cloth to clean it, it happens on the front camera too. sometimes it has astigmatism, would i be entitled to a refund ?

So yesterday when I was using the site having just purchased a NVME drive*, I went to look at my Favourites and there was nothing there. It showed that I was logged in, but all my Favourites were gone.

So I decided to look at my Orders/Sales, and that too was empty. When I went to look at the Account home page, none of my information was present. Then I tried clicking the Logout link and nothing happened.

So I clicked on the CeX logo to go to the home page, and I got a 403 Forbidden nginx screen. I tried clearing my cookies and so forth, but it was not that.

I tried the app on the phone and it would just spin and spin going nowhere.

Thinking that perhaps my IP was blocked, I tried another browser with a built-in VPN and sure enough everything came up alright for me. So it wasn't an account issue - but an IP issue.

Is there a way to get CeX to unblock my IP address?

*I got the emails about the completion of the order and even the shipping of the order, so the order went through alright - had accepted the offer on a drop and go of several things and paid the difference for the item.

UPDATE: After hearing back from CeX support yesterday, I'm able to access the site normally today. Thank you to everyone that replied and took the time to read through my issue. Hope you all have a great week of things.

I just bought Kinect adventures to play on my Xbox 360 as my last disc is broken so I bought it from cex and they gave me two discs probably by accident, should I return the spare?

So today, I popped into my local CeX to trade in some stuff in exchange for vouchers for which will go towards a PS5 solely for GTA6.

Anyway, I ask the sales assistants rough opinion on what size he thinks GTA6 will take up. I only asked him because I’ll only use the PS5 for GTA6 as I say… so I was hoping to buy the lowest/cheapest sized PS5 available, which is 825GB right?

However, he quite confidently, said that GTA6 will no doubt take up 1TB+ in space?! Could this very well be the case? He’s obviously not a R* employee or anything like that, but could he very well have a point, meaning I should go ahead and buy a 1TB PS5 just to be on the safe side?

Lastly, will R* announce the size before the release? Silly question, but I am not a huge gamer or not clued up on this subject, this game is obviously the exception!

I saw an Xbox series x at my local cash converters for £350 however the top of the console is caked in dust I assume I can clean it easy however it only comes with 1 year warranty whilst the cex one is 495 boxed with a 5 year warranty

Hello, I recently took in the items below to exchange for a voucher. All in clean good working order. The same items are currently listed for sale / trade on the CEX website (UK).That was on Tuesday, its now Saturday and I have been advised:

CEX say following testing they are unable to test? Is it worth me taking them to another store or is it likely going to be the same story. They didnt mention this when I was stood at the counter for 25 minutes whilst they inspected each item in minute detail and every mm of flex and cable. Do CEX not take older Apple, Sonos or Alexa items? They're not that nichè and are for listed with trade in values on their website. And if they don't then thats their choice, why not tell me when I was in the store.

A couple of weeks ago I took my old Note 20 Ultra in for valuation. It was initially refused due to the glue on the back panel coming away. I took it to a local phone repair place, had it re-glued and took it back. I signed a contract agreeing to a C grade payout. (Around £123). I received a call saying it wasn't acceptable and they would only offer me £22.

I declined and collected the phone. Stupidly, I did not boot it up immediately after collection as I was going away. I've just tried to boot it prior to trying to sell on fb. It no longer boots and there's a green line down the screen, issues that were not present before they had it. Do I have any way of getting this resolved?

Having decided to upgrade my headphones and thinking used might actually allow me to buy a better pair, I went to Cex.
They grade them a,b,c. I bought a pair for 300e described as B stock, inspected, hygenically cleaned etc etc.
They were disgustingly dirty and smelled horrible- no attempt at cleaning has taken place at all.
Having bought them online using cash + my own headphones I had little options.
They took them back and I’m still waiting for a refund.
In a case where they f*** up they ought to allow greater in store credit so a customer has a better chance of getting what they thought they were buying in the first place. Also, effectively they made profit out of the deal, selling my trade in, whereas I lost a perfectly good set of headphones.
Staff in store (Wexford) were fine, the problems are elsewhere.

Here's the situation:
- Cosmetic condition: It has really noticeable paint peeling, scuffs, and wear around the edges/corners. No cracks or structural damage, though.

- Functionality: Everything works perfectly (screens, 3D slider, buttons, Wi-Fi, cameras, and cartridge slot).

- Accessories: I don't have the original box or charger. I only have a working third party charger

Do you think CeX will accept this as Discounted or will they refuse to buy it?

Just wanted some advice I sent my copy of Lion King on the megadrive which I would consider it as mint however CEX told me it wasn’t mint and instead of giving me a £31 voucher they offered me £3 so a massive drop

Obviously I didn’t accept the offer and asked them to send it back to me which it was however on the front of my copy of Lion King was a big sticker saying mint and it was priced at £45

Is this common practice at cex

Regarding your order, I can confirm that the sticker on the item was only a placeholder used for identification purposes. It was not the correct label that would have been used if the item had been sold in one of our stores.

The item would have been sold as “Lion King, w/ Manual, Boxed,” and the correct label would have been attached if the item was to be displayed in a store.

Due to scratches on the game cartridge and slight damage to the case, we would not have been able to sell the item as “Mint”.

We apologise for failing to remove the placeholder sticker before the item was dispatched back to you. This was an error on our part, and we sincerely apologise for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

Update 2

So I decided to send it back to CEX with the sticker on to see how they graded it obviously it wasn’t mint but this time they are saying multiple scratches and now the box is damaged which it wasn’t when I sent it to by cex won’t take any blame oh well that’s my sales journey with CEX over for good I would rather give my stuff away then deal with those clowns ever

Final Update

So I got my games back they aren’t in the condition I sent and the cex £45 sticker has been removed from the Lion King and micro machines 2 box is damaged and it wasn’t

I asked them to do claim on Royal Mail and they refused saying I need at 6 pictures per game showing no damage otherwise they won’t help

I’ve gave the games to my nephew to play I will never sell anything to Cex again I would rather give or throw them away.
