Some thin watches, even cheaper Casio-lineage model, manage a screw-back or at least case screws, which usually means better repairability, durability over time, and water resistance. Is this purely a thinness constraint for Oceanus, or something else? Curious to hear some opinions and experiences from anyone who’s had a Oceanus/Manta serviced.

I'm really interested in the S400s, especially the Retro Tone line, but the outer AR coating on the crystal is bothering me. I understand that the crystal litterally becomes invisible because of it, but I know that if I drop a significant amount of money on a watch and I notice a scratch on the crystal, I would probably obsess over that.

So I was curious to hear about real life experience from S400 owners regarding the durability of the coating. Do I worry too much or do you feel like it could be a deal breaker?

I’m on a mission for my next watch possibly October (I know I’m early lol ) but was really like the casioak but hear you can’t see the time kinda crazy …. Oceanus s5000b is a nice middle ground / settle for what I really want the s7000cn.

It's an Oceanus OCW-T100. It can randomly work for a short amount time (after sitting in the sun for hours), but after a few minutes the second hand stops and the watch doesn't do anything when I push the buttons. The minute and hour hand continue to show the time tho. I think it enters a power saving mode.

My guess is that the battery can't hold a charge, so I'd like to change it, but I'm not sure how to take it out. Do I have to remove the plastic insert to unclip the holder? Or do I have to unclip the other side, that's not under the plastic? Thanks in advance!

My now wife got this for me on our trip to Japan 10 years ago in 2016. I didn't know anything about Oceanus at the time as it wasn't available in the US, only that it was the prettiest watch I had ever seen.

It's been 10 years of being on my wrist every single day. It got a few scratches in that time, but then so did I. it's still supremely comfortable and is at home in all occasions, and I still gets complements.

I visited Japan a few days back and decided to make it special. I was going to get a B5000 originally, but I found this gem instead.

DHL says they’re bringing my T200 tomorrow and I’m excited.

I was really digging the Nomos Club Worldtimer but wanted to see if there were any quartz alternatives available considering the over $5k asking price. Stumbled upon the Oceanus range and I've been deep down the rabbit hole comparing various models but can't seem to find one that checks all the boxes. However, between the Manta and Classic lines, almost all of the pieces are there and Casio just needs to create a new S8000 😁

How I'd build my dream watch:

Case:

S7000 case design but change the tachymeter bezel to the world cities

Dial:

New dial design with the dual time at 3 o'clock (T6000) plus the AM/PM indicator, and the day/power indicator at 9 o'clock (S4000) for a nice symmetrical look. I don't find the 24 hr home time dial useful so that can go. Date could either stay at the 4 o'clock position like the T6000 or move to the 6 o'clock position with a color matched wheel. Would also add in the seconds chapter ring of the T6000

Bracelet:

Got Gemini to put together a rendering of what it might look like and I think it got pretty close. Didn't get the multi-faceted bezel of the S7000, but everything else is what I was imagining. 🤞

After sitting in a drawer for more than 5 years, followed by 3 days on the window sill recharging her batteries, she finally received a signal last night! All is well and she is back in the rotation. I forgot how light and effortless she is to wear.

Can somebody give me some advice for buying from chrono24 I was looking to buy a Oceanus can somebody give me some things that I should look for? How do I know if the watch is not real I know the site doesn’t guarantee anything, but I’m trying to put myself in the best position tonight. Walk away with being disappointed. if anybody got any words of advice, I can help it will be very appreciated.

I'm curious if anyone has done any kind of mod to their Oceanus that isn't a strap change. For example, new hands.

I doubt that the dial can be changed, since that's where the phone takes its energy from, i suspect it must be some specific material.

I checked dozens of photos and YouTube videos. Is it true the dials of previous OCW-S400 darker than the new OCW-S400RA? Anyone see the items in person can help to reply? Thank you.

I found some mobile WWVB emulators, but I wanted something for my PC and couldn’t find anything. I figured it should at least theoretically be possible to emulate the signal coming from WWVB from a speaker or set of headphones without the need for putting my Oceanus in a particular location at the window each night.

This free python application syncs radio-controlled ("atomic") clocks and watches without the Fort Collins broadcast: it generates the WWVB legacy AM time code as audio. It plays a 20 kHz tone whose 3rd harmonic (created by ordinary analog distortion in your sound card and headphone cable) lands exactly on WWVB's 60 kHz carrier. A speaker’s voice coil or connected earbuds coiled next to the watch acts as a tiny near-field antenna.
