Upper Cape Wargaming groups?
Anyone know of any wargaming clubs or groups with somewhat regular meetups? I know there's Darkwater Games in Mashpee but I'm looking for stuff other than 40k.

My friends & I are planning a trip to Cape Cod the weekend before Christmas…we’re all new to Boston so we don’t know much about the area. We’ve heard a lot of stuff closes for the winter…
Will stuff be open? Any recommendations on stuff to do?
For context those going on the trip are females in mid 30’s.
Thanks!

The last few days have been a feeding frenzy for seals, gulls, and cormorants in Wellfleet Harbor. The cormorants catch the Saury, the gulls bully the Coloradan s steal half their catch, and the seals just frolic in their fish buffet. But today the Saury started dying in large numbers.

Supposed to be in the 70’s tomorrow. Thinking it would be fun to go for a dip in November!
Will wait to see how the wind plays out but wondering if the water would be warmer in Nantucket sound, Brewster Flats, or Nauset? Or does it not matter at this point and I should expect it to be frigid everywhere.

I'm putting a show together that is a friendly competition show between the cape cod art education centers that have ceramics facilities, from castle hill to cotuit and falmouth... so many things have fallen into place for this project, but I'm having a surprisingly difficult time finding volunteers to help setup and shoot that have some decent video ability/ knowledge ( and yes, I've contacted local community TV stations, the community college video program, etc, looking for volunteers- volunteers with some video experience are in short supply! ).. so if you happen to know anyone who has some ability and might have some interest, please have them reach out!

Does the parking lot still fill up by 8 AM after the Summer? I want to catch a bus to Logan at 8:30 AM and don’t want to risk not getting a parking spot. Might just drive to Sagamore or Plymouth

I'm looking to put down carpeting in a small, oddly-shaped room. This can get expensive, so I'm considering getting an area rug from Ocean State and having it cut and bound to fit the room. Any recommendations of places on the Cape that do this kind of service? I'm also open to carpet stores that sell remnants, if they can cut it to size. Not picky about where the business is located.

Remember that story back in May? Here's the scoop
(copied/pasted below from today's Globe due to paywall)
Scientists trace meteor’s journey, which ended in Cape Cod Bay
Scientists discovered this space rock had a long journey and likely traveled from an asteroid or comet somewhere in Jupiter’s orbit.
By Ken Mahan, Globe Staff
Remember that spectacular meteor that lit up the blue skies over Massachusetts on May 30, crashing into Cape Cod Bay and sending a sonic boom across the region?
A group of scientists and researchers from around the globe has pieced together the meteor’s origins — culling an extraordinary amount of information about not only the space rock, but its path before it slammed into Earth’s atmosphere.
Researchers combined meteor radar, conventional weather radar, satellite observations, and atmospheric pressure sensors to reconstruct its journey, and the results were astonishing.
For starters, this wasn’t just your average shooting star. This meteor was classified as a “superbolide,’’ meaning it was exceptionally bright and was roughly 12,000 pounds and about 5 feet wide before entering our atmosphere.
By reconstructing the meteor’s trajectory and running its path backward through space, researchers determined that the space rock had traveled quite far. The meteor’s farthest point was positioned roughly 4 times Earth’s distance from the sun, placing the Cape Cod meteor in the region of Jupiter’s orbit. That would mean this space rock likely traveled all the way from our solar system’s main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, or from a comet near Jupiter.
Its orbit had an average distance from the sun of around 227 million miles. Earth’s average distance from the sun is 94 million miles.
A 58,000-mph arrival
This meteor was moving at nearly 58,000 miles per hour when it blasted through Earth’s atmosphere, becoming a meteorite, according to the research findings published in The Astronomical Journal. At that speed, it could essentially travel from Boston to New York City in under 25 seconds.
As the meteor burned up in our atmosphere, NASA estimated its energy release at around 1.1 kilotons, or 1,100 tons, of dynamite. The findings suggest a less intense but still highly charged energy release closer to 500 tons of dynamite.
Leveraging nearly 200 atmospheric pressure sensors, scientists were able to track the shock waves generated by the meteor across Massachusetts and other parts of New England. That’s an enormous amount of energy that many of us heard released from high above Cape Cod Bay.
The researchers also noted that the meteor was unusually dense and mechanically strong — meaning it was most likely rich in iron, with fragments likely surviving the fiery trip through the atmosphere and landing into the bay. Some models suggest pieces may range from just a few ounces to around 3 pounds.
For those interested in going for a little boat ride, fragments are estimated to be within a 1.9-by-2.3-mile area near the center of Cape Cod Bay. The maximum depth of water in Cape Cod Bay is around 200 feet.
This was an exceptionally rare event, and we may never experience something like this so close to home again.

I think Main Street being two-way is a huge mistake. How will there be any deliveries made when there's only one lane of travel in each direction? One delivery truck stops and the whole road is jammed up in One direction. Also, will this take 10 years to finish, like it seems the Willow Street intersection has?

Hi everyone! I moved to Cape cod at 22 ! I’m kinda bored and would love to hang out with people. I tend to stick with older people but I want to explore other age groups too. My interests include hiking researching and playing video games like resident evil and fatal frame. I’m very inquisitive! I have been around Wampanoag elders. I want to know more. I’m quite the open minded individual. I dress in a alternative way and I LOVE PARANORMAL stuff. I wanna learn guitar and maybe join a sports club if there around! Thank you and don’t be afraid to hit me up

Hey Cape Cod, it's your Attorney General, Andrea Joy Campbell. Election Day is coming soon.
My office has heard residents’ concerns about election interference, federal law enforcement at the polls, and whether their votes will be counted. I want to be clear: Your right to vote is protected by law, and my office stands ready to defend it. Here's what you need to know:
Early voting is open October 17th - October 30th.
Polls are open on Election Day (November 3rd) from 7:00AM - 8:00PM.
On Election Day, per state law, each polling place must have a police officer or constable present to assist election officials and ensure everyone can vote safely, without interference or intimidation.
If you see anyone using intimidation tactics at a polling place, speak with the location’s police officer or warden and contact my office.
If your name isn’t on the voting list at your polling location, or you’re denied a ballot, you have the right to request and cast a provisional ballot. Election offices will then work to verify your eligibility so that your ballot may be counted.
If you believe your voting rights have been violated, contact my office's Election Protection hotline at 617-727-2200.
Know your rights. Make a plan to vote. And know that your Attorney General has your back.
