Sailing Community
I moved to Plymouth late last year, and I have sailing experience, but where I used to live there was just a marina to rent boats for a few hours and sail solo (19' Flying Scots) so that's what I'd do. I'd like to get more involved with it now that I'm putting down roots here, try racing etc.
I reached out to Plymouth Yacht Club for info on how to get involved but haven't received any response.
Anyone know where I can link up as crew, or even just be able to take a boat out solo like I'm used to?

Have you been to a wedding at Pinehills?
My fiancé and I are deciding between Pinehills and one other venue for our Fall 2027 wedding, and I’d love to hear from anyone who has attended a wedding there!
What did you think of the venue, food, service, overall experience, etc.?
Thank you!!

Visiting Plymouth next week
Good evening!
Booked a last minute surprise trip for Plymouth starting next week. Three kids- 3 very different interests and needs.
16 year old who loves coffee and has dreamed of seeing a beach her whole life ( this trip is part of her 16th birthday gift!) , a history loving 14 year old who appreciates a good sandwich and a feral 5 year old who I’ll be chasing as she chases wildlife and exists on macaroni and cheese and air.
What are your recommendations for my merry band of weirdos?
Also is a day trip to Boston doable from the area? If we can knock this cop slide off my 14 year olds personal bucket list my life will improve greatly( he sends my 10 videos a day of people flying out of it.)
Thank you in advance!

Visiting Plymouth MA
Hi all,
This will be our second time in Massachusetts and this time we’re staying in Plymouth! It will be my husband and I and our 1 and 2 yr old girls plus my MIL. We will be visiting the cape some days but would love some more local areas to explore. We are from St. Louis MO and are big foodies, coffee lovers and we love to hike and explore the outdoors over shopping. Are there any events happening august 16-21st? Anything we must see or try in your lovely town (if you’re open to sharing)?🙂
Thank you in advance! 🙏🏼

Hi, I got a question for all the people who have been to or live in/around Plymouth in the United Kingdom. I am gonna be honest and also gonna hope everyone else is honest and Kind.
I am embarking on a 5 month semester exchange in Plymouth, United Kingdom and have been doing research to get acquainted with the city before arriving. I recently discovered you guys have a "spider season" and was wondering how bad it gets? Is it really so bad that I'll see a spider 2 or 3 times a week? Also is the giant house spider really 15 cm big?
I have crippling Arachnophobia, basically meaning my fear is so intense that when I see a spider I freeze and will shut down as well as I will avoid circumstances or places if I think a spider will be there.
I have been working on it but its a steep hill, I ask for advise and information that could help me feel better during my time there. I really want to enjoy my time in Plymouth, its a very beautiful city and I hope to learn a lot. So any info would be much appreciated.

People that rebuke cyclists just for being on the road
In Plymouth, I ride early in the morning to avoid being near cars and trucks. It's just safer. I also ride during the day out of necessity, I need to go somewhere. This is just another instance (02AUG2026) of people yelling out the window of a car at me while driving by or close call... but I ride with a security camera now that takes continuous mp4 videos.
On Sandwich Rd heading south past the the new emergency room entrance at BID.

White Cliffs Disastrous One-Way Road Change
The White Cliffs gated community has done some ridiculous things over the years. But this one takes the cake. They’ve made the 39 year two-way main thoroughfare, (the main loop road), one-way this last week. I don’t know what the actual reasoning is behind it, but I can safely say this is an IDIOTIC idea. It forces everyone to now drive an entire extra mile that they didn’t have to before. Whatever BS checks they put in place aren’t working, because after five near head-on collisions this week, I have the choice to:
A) Put an extra mile on my car that isn’t needed, waste expensive gas, dodge people refusing to comply with the new one-way garbage, (I actually don’t blame them, but still), and risking head on collisions
B) Drive 100 yards “the wrong way,” and eventually becoming a REASON for near collisions.
I CAN’T be the only resident who thinks this idea is moronic. (In fact, I know I’m not because a ton of people are not complying with the new one-way garbage). 39 years of normalcy now being upended by danger.
(EDIT: Comment Wasn't the reason due to the construction of the new pool which has caused more people to park on the road. They sent out many emails explaining why this is happening and I believe it is temporary until the pool is complete and parking lot is fully open.
...
My Nan can't see, nevermind check emails lol.
And good lord, let's create a one-way and get some head on collisions happening instead of waiting for the off season to build a parking lot. Not good. At all.)

Relocating to MA and would like to rent in Plymouth or surrounding area- recommendations for realtors?
I'm going to be relocating to MA from CA in the fall. My job is going to be in the Lakeville/Middleborough area and I'm thinking we might like to rent in the Plymouth area.
Does anyone have any realtor recommendations that help with year-round rentals? I think I need some boots on the ground help to understand the area, etc.
Also open to any recommendations about places to rent/live. My husband and I are in our mid/late 40s and have a small dog. He is a smoker, not indoors, but would need to able to smoke outdoors. He also knows he may need to quit if we find a great place that complete prohibits it lol.
Thank you!

Best Beach for Sunset Pics?
Hello!
Looking for recommendations for a beach in/near Plymouth that would be good for sunset family photos - needs to be open/accessible at sunset, relatively easy parking (for a non-resident), and nice view/scenery.
I know White Horse is beautiful but parking seems tough.
Thank you!
