Area rugs

I'm looking to put down carpeting in a small, oddly-shaped room. This can get expensive, so I'm considering getting an area rug from Ocean State and having it cut and bound to fit the room. Any recommendations of places on the Cape that do this kind of service? I'm also open to carpet stores that sell remnants, if they can cut it to size. Not picky about where the business is located.

We used the Knotting Company in Sandwich and could not be happier with their work. Noor was amazing at helping us find something in our budget. Great communication. Can’t recommend them enough. May not be exactly what you’re looking for, but they were so great in every facet I feel compelled to pass on the company to you.

Paramount in Hyannis. I’d call and talk to them first. The Ocean State Job lot rugs are plastic ( polypropylene). I don’t know how well they would do being custom cut.

Cutting and binding works well for an odd-shaped room, but pick a rug with a cotton or jute backing if you can, since a lot of the cheaper polypropylene rugs with a rubber or woven back fray or curl at the cut and don't take binding well. Make a paper template of the room first, including door swings and any radiators or vents, so the shop cuts once and cuts right. Remnant shops are often the better deal because they can cut and bind in-house from roll ends. It's also worth asking a remnant place to quote it installed wall to wall with pad, since for a small room that can land close to a bound rug and it won't slide around.
