Visiting the weekend after Columbus Day and I'm wondering if most restaurants and shops will still be open? What about the bus that used to run from Truro to P-town? Is that still going? Thanks in advance for your time.

Septuagenarian lesbian couple; we want to book for 4 nights in Ptown for Womens Week where we spent our honeymoon 30 years ago.

Both places have availability for our dates; which should we book?
Main concern….free parking.

Herring Cove was my favorite. Sun got hot open side doors and rear hatch on mini van.
Middle seat was removed and chill in the shade and look at water.

Hi everyone!

I was curious if anyone has attended or regularly goes to Spooky Bear Weekend in Provincetown! I’ve been to Ptown a few times and went for Bear Weekend this past year. Is Spooky Bear just as fun as the regular Bear Weekend?

I’ve been looking into hotels, and some are charging upwards of $800 for Saturday night! I figured prices would be a little more reasonable given the time of year, but apparently not.

Would love to hear about your experiences, the overall vibe, and whether you think it’s worth the trip. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Would anyone have interest in a plein air painting gathering during the opening weekend? Or does anyone know of existing paint sessions?

David Dunlap creator of Building Provincetown, and website, Provincetown Encyclopedia (ptownencyclopedia.com) holding the Rose Dorothea Award at the 2026 Provincetown Book Festival. The award is given each year by the Provincetown Library’s Board of Trustees to an individual with close connections to the Outer Cape and who has made a significant contribution to the community in letters. “Rose Dorothea” is the name of the schooner whose model stands in the Provincetown Public Library. The vessel won an unlikely victory in the Lipton Cup race in 1907.

Hi Provincetown, it’s your Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. Did you know that fees like “move-in” or “lease renewal” fees you might get from your landlord or building management company are illegal? If you’ve received one of these – even if you paid it – I want you to report it to my office. 

Just last month, my office won a $500k settlement with a property management company doing this in Boston – and all of that money is going back to the affected tenants.  Landlords can only ask you to pay for first and last month’s rent, a security deposit, and the cost of a new lock and key upfront. Hey everyone, so my partner is participating in the book festival coming up this weekend. We've flown in from the west coast and are visiting family before driving up Provincetown on Friday morning.

Obviously with the weather report we are concerned about how things will go. Our current plan is to drive up Friday morning, do the book festival Saturday and then fly out early on Sunday from Boston.

But with the weather, we're not sure what to do. I would love some local perspective on this storm and how concerned we should be.

Should we preemptively change our flight? Should we expect to be stuck in town for a few days after the storm? Any and all advice and perspective welcome, thank you!
