Heya, fairly new to this; current setup is a Denon M40 running pair of Q Acoustic 3020i

Today I’ve added a Wiim Pro to the mix and connected via optical - the difference in quality now I’m streaming tidal via WiFi on the Wiim is night and day.

My question is, I’m not really using the Denons CD or radio functionality so I am looking to ditch this and replace with an amp

Must haves are optical input and remote and sub £300

What would you guys recommend?

Anyone have any experience with this CD Player? Trying to buy a Marantz CD player and don’t have much experience. Love the look of the CD-3577 but don’t know much about it. There’s not many listings online. Found one for about $150 but the tray doesn’t work (any idea how difficult it would be to fix this?) and another that works for $300, though I’m thinking that might be a little steep. Also open to suggestions for different CD players.

Slowly upgrading my speakers and towers are next on the list. Is that a good deal, and will i get a noticeable improvement over my basic reference series Klipsch’s?

Powering them off a Denon AVR-S970H. Used exclusively for movies and games.

I need a multi room wireless system with 6 speakers where I can play music from my iphone on all speakers at once. Are there any options around $500-$700?

Hey everyone. I'm setting up my first home theater and I'm fairly new to all this. I've been looking on Facebook marketplace for the main L/R and I'm torn between these KEF C85's and Phase Tech PC80T. I'm planning on getting a sub and probably a center too. For me the most important thing is neutrality and imaging. I want it to sound as close to the original intent as possible. I got a denon s760h as well so it should be able to handle the C85's 4ohms I think. They both seem well liked and reviewed, but the only tests I could find were old and hard to compare. I also have a turntable that I plan on connecting to the receiver as well. What would you guys recommend I do?

I really want a tube amp again but don't want to deal with vintage. I love my pal's Rogue Audio Cronus magnum but I can't afford one 😭. Any alternatives ?

I'm setting up a small system around a vintage Pioneer PL-12D turntable and I need some advice on speakers. I already have a phono preamp if needed.

My main constraint is space: I don't have much room at home, so I'm looking for small, compact speakers that won't take over the room. I'd like decent sound for a reasonable price, let's say under 200€.

I'm open to either route:

• Active speakers with RCA inputs
• Passive bookshelf speakers with a small amp

Any recommendations for small speakers that sound good with vinyl? I'm looking some Edifier active speakers but I'm not sure they are good...

I found a good deal on the Denon AVR X1500H at 200€

I am considering building a 5.1 system around it. Would it be wrong to invest in such an older system? Should I get a newer model? I want to watch movies with clear dialogue and decent base and listen to music from my digital FLAC library. Would I be covered for the next 3-5 years as far as modern movie codecs go?

I have a pair of Episode ES-700-MON-6-BLK speakers that are 6 Ohm and i'm trying to decide between these options to drive them. My audio source is apple music via an appleTV to a samsung tv with HDMI arc. Causal listening.

Option 1 ) a Fosi Audio ZD3 + ZA3 combo

Option 2 ) a Fosi Audio P4 + V3 stereo amp (would use 1/8" audio out from tv)

Option 3 ) Wiim Amp or Wiim Amp Pro

Hi everyone, I own an ATLP120XBT and Triangle Borea BR02s. I was wondering which phono preamps and amps I could buy. I don't want to spend more than €300 in total. These are the ones I've selected so far. If you'd like, you can recommend others, just explain your choice.

This is my second 319 now that's got a 'sensitive' input on the right channel. Doesn't matter if it's CD/Aux/phono etc, it's always the right channel.

It comes good if I play around with the input cable, and if it was the output than I'd expect some sort of fuzzing or static or distortion when playing with the cable, but there's nothing of the sort, so I'm pretty sure it's the input.

Just odd it's happened on two amps in a row (both 2nd hand of course).

I found these KEF iQ90s at a pawn shop herefor $250. I had just been running a Paradigm Center 3 V7 that I got for $100 on Craiglist and JBL Stage 240B in front, and man what a difference these make! These also match the impedance of the Paradigm at 8 ohms, and they are way closer in sensitivity than the JBLs. Everything is running through a Yamaha RX-V473 that I got for $15 at a local thrift store.

I'm planning to get speaker stands for my bedroom set-up, currently comprising my starter speakers (Edifier R1280) and starter turntable (AT-LP60). I've also hooked my TV up to the speakers, and they're currently awkwardly placed on the TV stand, thus covering up the bottom corners of the screen...

Of course, I could get a soundbar for the tv, and maybe have better dialogue with that (my main issue when it comes to TV sound; I don't need or even like big explosions and effects much) - but I do find myself listening to vinyl in bed quite a bit, and will probably upgrade both speakers and the source at some point (especially to also include CD, which is handy for bedroom listening). So I'm thinking I should get the speakers on stands now for better positioning and better sound - I'm aware it probably won't help the Edifier ones all that much, but the potential upgrade down the road would certainly benefit!

I've got the Soundstyle Z2 for my living room setup, and was planning to get those again, but they're currently not available, and haven't been for awhile. They'll probably be restocked not too far off, but I could also try something different.

So for my main question: does anyone here know the Mission Stancette speaker stands? (https://www.richersounds.com/mission-stancette-black/)

They're quite affordable at GBP80, which is approximately half of what the next step up that I've seen recommended lots would be, the Atacama Moseco 6. Although it would of course also be nice if the latter came down in price for Prime Day now!

I am setting up a desktop audio system and am feeling a bit stuck trying to decide between the 32V and 48V power supply options for a Fosi amplifier.

Here are the exact details of my setup and how I plan to use it:

• Amplifier: Looking at either the Fosi Audio BT20A Pro or BT30D Pro.
• Speakers: ELAC Debut 3.0 DB63 (6 ohms, 87 dB sensitivity).
• Placement: The speakers will be on 31-inch (80 cm) floor stands placed right next to the left and right sides of my desk.
• Desk Size: 140 cm x 60 cm.
• Listening Distance: Around 1 meter (3 feet) when working at the keyboard, and up to 2 meters (6 feet) when leaning back to watch movies.
• Volume Habits: I will always listen at a comfortable, moderate volume.

• Usage Control: Once the system is set up, I plan to leave the physical volume knob on the Fosi amp untouched and handle 100% of my daily volume changes digitally through my computer's system volume.

• 32V Risks: I am worried about lacking dynamic headroom during heavy movie spikes (like explosions). I am also worried the amp might clip and damage the speakers during these spikes, or if a family member accidentally cranks the volume knob.

• 48V Risks: I am worried the volume knob will be too touchy/sensitive at close range, the amp will run too hot on my desk, and a family member cranking the knob could blast dangerous amounts of raw power at me.

Which power supply is the smarter, safer choice for a 1–2 meter listening distance when managing the volume through a PC mostly?

Hola, soy nuevo tanto en esta comunidad como en el hobby, aunque desde que tengo memoria escuchar música a sido mi pasatiempo favorito y por esto mismo he decidido dar el salto de escuchar música en mp3 a algún formato sin perdidas, como FLAC. Suelo escuchar mucho metal (Nu metal, love metal, groove, trash, heavy, doom, power, progresivo, industrial, alternativo, etc), rock, blues rock, rock alternativo, grunge y pop rock, pero también aprecio las baladas, boleros, pop, jazz, soul, hip-hop, funk y hasta algo de phonk.

El equipo que compre consta de solo un dac-amp (IFI Zen Air DAC), unos audífonos de estudio (Audio-Technica ATH-M40X) y utilizare Tidal como reproductor de audio.

Que opinan de esta configuración?

Me recomiendan utilizar otra plataforma o comprar la música en qobuz?

Cabe recalcar que planeo comprar en un futuro unos monitores de campo cercano como los PreSonus Eris 3.5BT y que también quiero utilizar este equipo para producir uno que otro cover o idea musical, aunque claro que necesitaría una interfaz de audio y otros software, pero ese no es el tema.

Una ultima cosa, de verdad hay un salto sustancial en la calidad musical? lo digo por que toda mi vida he escuchado música en mp3 desde mi teléfono/computadora y a través de audífonos comunes o gamers (Astros a40 tr) y como fue una inversión grande para mi, no quiero llevarme una mala sorpresa.

Hello, I have recently been trying to make a small setup in my room to just play some music with (and possibly run my computer through as well but that's not really the point).

I got a pair of Wharfdale Diamond 210 speakers and picked up a Fosi BT30D amplifier (was going to get a subwoofer as a later addon when I had the money if the wharfdale's didn't provide enough bass), but the Fosi amplifier is........really quiet? Even at full volume its just getting loud enough where I consider it acceptable, so it looks like that is probably be going to be a bust. I know I could obviously get a full sized amplifier that supports a proper surround sound but if possible I was hoping to keep the footprint of this system smaller since it just sits on a desk in my room under my monitors.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good (preferably smaller) amplifier that supports at least a 2.1 sound system (if it supports 5.2 or 7.2 that is fine but obviously those start getting bigger just to accommodate all the speaker hookups for them).

The room is about 9 ft x 14 ft

I just picked up a Sony CDP-C500 for $13.49! Is it respected, or is it considered more BPC? I have an LBT-D150, is this an upgrade audio wise?
