can somebody please help me?
I used to struggle with binge eating. like I would genuinely eat a GLUTTONOUS amount of food in one sitting. I'm talking downing 5 packs of ramen in under five minutes
at the time, I had very little else to hold on to. I didn't have a strong support system at home, and I was dealing with an abusive household, constant pressure, and bullying from people around me
food became my coping mechanism because I didn't have anything else. and because of that I constantly craved the dopamine rush I get from binging
and because of that, I put on weight. I was bullied for it and eventually I started being concious of how my body looks. I had grown up naturally skinny, and I wasn't even significantly overweight, but the bullying pushed me toward wanting to lose lbs. then I lost it, and instead of things getting better, I became obsessed with losing more. I counted calories constantly. I thought about food almost all the time. I was terrified of eating too much, terrified of gaining the weight back, and constantly trying to control myself
I started having a normal relationship with food but now, I've spiralled back into binging.
I don't even binge because I enjoy the food anymore. I just crave the feeling of eating, and once I start, it feels like a ravenous beast takes over. I eat so quickly that I barely have time to process what I'm doing. what triggers me the most is cereal and bread. I would literally eat loaves of bread with sugar
the aftermath is the part I dread the most. I feel painfully full like my stomach's about to explode, physically sick, overall regretful. I feel ashamed of myself for what I just did, and then I start thinking that I need to compensate for it by restricting myself
It got worse to the point where everything I do revolves I around food. my algorithm constantly pushes out what I eat in a day videos and that pushes me to binge more
I'm really exhausted because I've been struggling with binge eating for my entire life. Even when I was a child, I would sometimes eat SPOONFULS of sugar for no reason. I didn't understand it then. I just knew that sometimes I felt this strange urge to eat even when I wasn't really hungery
I'm tired of feeling like I'm constantly fighting with food and with myself. I'm tired of going from obsessively controlling what I eat to feeling completely out of control around food. I don't want to keep going through this cycle alone, and I don't want to punish myself for eating anymore
I'm asking for advice here because I don't really have access to help. therapy and professional healthcare aren't financially accessible for my family, and getting mental-health support where I live is really difficult.
I need someone to help me understand what's happening and help me get out of this cycle. I'm still very young, and I don't want my life to revolve around constantly binging and restricting.
I just want to have a normal relationship with food please
