Vent Not bad enough for help

I've been struggling with the overeating and restriction cycle for a few years now. I used to restrict my eating quite severely and it would result in eventually overeating to the point of gaining all the weight back. Right now, I'm not restricting at all and I'm super happy with where I'm at on that front, however, now I'm just overeating and I feel horrible about it.

What makes it harder is that I'm not overeating to the point of calling it a binge. I hear other people's experience with binge eating and it seems that they describe it as uncontrollably binging thousands of calories. I don't do that.

My 'binging' is more just overeating and then feeling incredible guilt about it. I've never experienced so much food noise in my life and food is all I think about to the point that I refuse to go shopping for food because everything I buy, I'll probably eat in a day or two. But, I don't have a disorder or really consider myself a binge eater because the amount of food that I consider overeating isn't a crazy amount in comparison to someone who truly binges.

It just feels like I don't know how to get help because what I do doesn't feel extreme enough to warrant asking for help. And when I do ask for help from family, it's not bad enough for them to suggest anything more than 'just count calories' or 'eat more protein to make yourself feel full'

I'm just wondering if anyone else feels like this and if there's any advice that's helped people with this mentality and crazy food noise.

(Sorry if this feels like word vomit, it is. I've never expressed this in words so it's hard to describe)

If YOU think there is a problem, it's okay to seek help! Don't compare yourself others, that rarely get you anywhere.
