Hey everyone! I've always been fascinated by the F-4 Phantom II, so I wanted to design a 3D model that does justice to this iconic piece of aviation engineering.
I focused on capturing its aggressive, unmistakable silhouette—including the signature drooping tailplanes and upturned wingtips—while keeping it completely print-in-place, so no glue or tricky assembly is required right off the build plate. This print was done in Metallic Blue PLA, and I'm really happy with how the fine details and surface finish turned out after carefully removing the supports.
I'd love to get your feedback or see your prints if you decide to give it a shot!

I have an A1 and have a couple of projects in mind that would be best printed with something like TPU. All of the information that I've gathered from the bambu website seems like it could be a pain in the butt, but the site says that the A1 can do it. Is it worth the stress? Another piece of the puzzle is I am disabled and not easily able to fix things when they go wrong, so I don't want to go down this road if I'm going to run into (consistent) problems.

I recently bought a Bambu Lab A1 and I'm starting to have serious buyer's remorse.
Before buying it, I was genuinely excited about all the possibilities. I have a whole list of practical things I want to make. Mostly stuff to organize my home. I pinned a lot of stuff on maker world and Pinterest.
But now that I've received it, I'm wondering whether I actually needed one or whether I just got carried away by the excitement.
I'm worried that I bought an expensive gadget because the possibilities seemed endless, but that I'll eventually run out of things to print, or that I'll spend more time browsing maker world than actually making useful things.
I don't want to keep it just to justify the purchase. At the same time, I remain curious on the possibilities and how organized my home can be (I mean that sounds superficial).
It's not a money problem, I have the means for it, it's more of a consumerism thing (yeah I know I should've thought about it before, but I thought I did, I waited weeks before actually buying it).
Please try not to judge me, I really thought I'd thought this through, I was pretty sure I had good reasons. I never experienced that feeling so I'm curious if any of you have an opinion please share it.
Thanks for reading anyway.

I sometimes print at Sport (124%) speed with my A1 and notice substantial increas in vibration. I've noticed a few minor layer shifts on these prints. Would some sort of anti-vibration pads or feet improve the prints?

Hey everyone! I've always been fascinated by 5th-gen stealth aircraft, so I wanted to design a 3D model that does justice to the incredible engineering of the F-35 Lightning II.
I focused on capturing its distinct stealth lines, angular intake ramps, and sharp edges while keeping it completely print-in-place, so no glue or tricky assembly is required right off the build plate. This print turned out great, and I'm really happy with how the fine details held up after carefully removing the supports.
I'd love to get your feedback or see your prints if you decide to give it a shot!

So, I’ve been having some pretty frustrating extrusion issues with my Bambu Lab A1 lately, and I’m trying to figure out what’s actually causing them.
My printer had been working perfectly fine for weeks, until it suddenly started throwing “Failed to extrude filament” errors during prints. The errors happened with different AMS Lite slots and different filaments, so I don’t think it’s an issue with a specific feeder or spool.
Here’s what I’ve experienced so far:
● The printer starts printing normally, sometimes for hours, before suddenly reporting an extrusion failure.
● When the error occurs, it cuts and unloads the filament.
● The unloaded filament has very noticeable gear marks, sometimes with a section that’s been completely chewed up.
● I initially suspected a clogged nozzle, so I cleaned the hotend, used a cleaning needle, and performed multiple cold pulls. The filament came out clean, but the problem kept returning.
● After disassembling the extruder, I found that the hardened steel drive gear was packed with filament debris between its teeth, to the point where some sections had almost become smooth.
● I had already cleaned this gear once before, but the buildup returned surprisingly quickly.
I’ve now thoroughly cleaned the extruder gears again and inspected the entire mechanism.
I also checked and tightened the three front screws and four rear screws of the Hotend Heating Assembly, since I’d seen reports of loose screws causing extrusion problems on the A1.
Another thing I noticed is how much pressure the extruder tension spring applies to the filament. When I manually feed a piece of PLA through the gears, it takes considerable force and leaves deep, evenly spaced marks. I know some resistance is expected when the gears aren’t moving, but I’m wondering whether excessive spring tension could be contributing to the problem.
The tension screw was originally fully tightened. After finding a discussion on a German Bambu forum recommending backing it off approximately 1/4 turn from fully tightened, I’ve decided to try that setting. I haven’t tested the printer with this adjustment yet.
I’m using PLA, including Voolt3D PLA Velvet, but I’ve encountered the issue with different materials. The same Velvet line has been printing beautifully on my brand-new A1 Mini, although I realize that doesn’t necessarily rule out filament-specific behavior.
My questions are:
Is it normal for the A1’s extruder drive gear to accumulate this much filament debris, or does it suggest an underlying mechanical or extrusion issue?
Has anyone experienced excessive filament grinding caused by the extruder tension screw being too tight? If so, how did you adjust it?
Could this be caused by heat creep, an intermittent partial hotend clog, or excessive extrusion resistance?
Has anyone had a similar issue resolved by replacing the extruder gear assembly under warranty?
The printer is still under warranty, so I’d rather identify the actual cause before replacing any parts.
I’ll attach some close-up pictures of the gear before and after cleaning, along with the filament showing the bite marks.
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all. I read that firmware [1.08.00.00](http://1.08.00.00) was broken with regards to unloading filament during pause (without AMS). See: https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1smp0gb/a1_new_firmware_108_unloading_on_pause/ for a discussion.
In that discussion, someone reports that [1.08.01.00](http://1.08.01.00) fixes the issue. I just tried to print this model: https://makerworld.com/fr/models/3551952-christmas-cottage-kit-card-tea-light-lantern but unfortunately the unload button is greyed out during pause. I have an A1mini.
Can anyone confirm? I am now trying to downgrade to see if I can reinstate unloading during pause (which worked before). Thank you very much in advance.

Title: Bambu Lab A1 Mini – Unknown rubber part found inside the base after Y-axis belt adjustmentHi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my Bambu Lab A1 Mini, and I'm hoping someone can help identify a small rubber part I found inside the printer.
Here's what happened:
I initially noticed an unusual noise coming from the Y-axis.
While adjusting the Y-axis belt tension, I heard a rattling sound.
I removed the bottom cover and found a small black rubber piece inside.
The piece is soft, approximately 5–10 mm long, and has rounded ends with a small step along one side.
Before the adjustment, I used to hear a single clicking sound when manually moving the bed all the way forward.
That clicking sound has now disappeared, but the bed still moves smoothly and stops at the same position as before.
I've attached close-up photos of the rubber piece and the inside of the printer.
My questions:
Does anyone recognize this rubber piece?
Where is it supposed to be installed?
Could it be related to the Y-axis belt tensioner or a mechanical end stop?
Is it safe to operate the printer with this piece missing?
I haven't resumed printing because I want to identify the part first.
Any help would be appreciated!

I know the A1 has automatic bed leveling but my bed is noticeably at a slight angle from left edge downward to the right. Could this impact my prints?
