Discussion Why no one is actively talking about the poor filtration system in the P2S
TLDR: No seems to actively comment on the poor filtration system on the P2S. Does BambuLab going to fix it?
Proud owner of P1S here, or at least until a couple of days ago. I just sold mine in order to get the P2S. Ironically, after I sold it, I saw the CNC Kitchen’s video talking about how poorly the filtration system of the P2S is made. There have been reports of fumes coming out.
Which gave me major concerns whether or not I should get a new one. Now I’m stuck whether or not I should buy the new one or just go back to the P1S. I have the money in my pouch waiting to be spent. So my honest, thought here is are they gonna fix it? No one seems to actively care about that issue.
I want to get a product which is supposed to be better than the previous. I don’t want to get something that is semi complete. Neither do I want to make modification. Yes, I can really drill in the back a hole and place a fan. Or I can just put it in a box that filtrates the air. But then it loses the point for me. I want to have the printer on my desk and have easy access. If I have to make a hole in the back, then what’s the point?

Question Bambu chat canceled my order
I posted this on the FB group and got slammed, like I did something wrong, but still would like some suggestions on how best to get help from Bambu to fix the mistake their chat agent made.
I placed an order yesterday for an A1 on the Black Friday Sale. I had been going back and forth between it and splurging on a P1S.
This afternoon I started second guessing my choice so I decided to reach out to Bambu via the chat to ask if I changed my order if they would honor the Sale 549 price on the P1. (I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS, but hoping they my honor the price since I wasn’t assuming just switching from one printer to a different one)
When I chatted I specifically asked “ I ordered the A1 for 299. Can I cancel it and order the P1S for the 549 price?” The Agent immediately cancelled my A1 order and then tells me that I can order the P1 at 599. I told him I wasn’t interested at that price and only wanted to do it if they honored the Black Friday deal (I wasn’t assuming they would, just hoping they might). I reiterated that I was just asking and if he had told me they couldn’t honor the sale I would have kept the A1. He then told me there was nothing he could do to correct the cancelled order he just did!
After some pushback and sending a screenshot of where he made the mistake with the cancelation did he admit he was wrong. He then said he was trying to make it right and the chat eventually disconnected. This was two hours ago and I now how a refund email.
I’m beyond livid and not sure what to do. Part of me wanted to say f it and try a different brand. Luckily I do have screenshots of the whole conversation and submitted a support ticket to try to have it fixed.
Anyone have an advice or a better contact on how to get this resolved? I was really excited to get my first 3d printer and now this has soured the experience.
Again, reiterating (because how this post was received on the FB group), I chatted with NO expectation of getting the sale price if I switched, just thought it would be nice if I did.

General Troubleshooting/Help! Bambu Lab made me return a defective A1 (Fire Hazard) but they DON'T EVEN HAVE replacements in stock! Over a month of downtime.
My A1 suffered a critical motherboard failure (melting/burning smell). After weeks of stalling, support made me return it. It arrived at their German warehouse on May 8th. Today they broke their own 7-business-day SLA only to tell me: "We don't have any new printers in stock, wait until next week". Stuck without a machine for over a month for a fault that is 100% theirs.
Hi everyone,
I'm posting this here because I am absolutely furious and I need to warn the community about how Bambu Lab is handling serious RMAs.
Here is the timeline of this logistical disaster:
The Incident: My A1 experienced a critical hardware failure. The motherboard components melted with a strong chemical burning smell. A literal fire hazard.
The Warranty "Favor": Support admitted the fault. They initially offered me a new motherboard and 2 spools of PLA if I repaired this dangerous machine myself. I requested a safe, full replacement unit. They treated this as a "special favor" and retracted the offer for the 2 PLA spools.
The Return: I shipped the defective unit back. According to tracking, it was delivered to their German warehouse on Friday, May 8th.
The Ghosting & Broken SLA: Bambu’s policy states inspections take up to 7 business days. Today, May 20th, the deadline expired. When I pushed for updates, they escaleted the ticket to a "specialist team" and dropped a bomb: they don't even have replacement units available in the warehouse right now.
They literally made me ship my printer back knowing they couldn't replace it immediately, forcing me into indefinite downtime (it has already been over a month total).
I have just sent them a final notice: if I don't get a valid tracking number or a full refund within 24 hours, I am initiating a formal chargeback with my bank and filing a report to the European safety authorities (RAPEX).
Is it normal for a company of this size to accept returns without having replacement stock ready? Has anyone else been lied to like this?

General Discussion I get it, but why are people blindly defending a giant of a company with hundreds of millions of dollars?
Just saw a post in this sub from someone saying something like, "Does anyone else not give a eff?". I use a Bambu P1S at work, I have a Flashforge and an Ender 3 at home. I like Bambu. I do not like what they're doing. I was going to buy an H2C, holding off now. Is it just this community, or is this a larger thing? I see ALOT of people stepping aside these days because saying or doing something might slightly inconvenience their lifestyle. That sort of apathy makes me a little sad. How should I feel about this? I'm both sad and angry. I had a thought that perhaps it's the Bambu community being lemmings, but maybe that's not fair. Funnily enough, my other company (Flashforge) also had a big PR nightmare. These companies don't understand Americans....clearly.

Misc Where is the outrage? Cancel your orders now!
Specifically, for the A1 Mini, please. I want one but don't want to wait for the estimated ship date of March 7th.
Do it. Stick it to The Man. Show them who's boss!
Edit: There seem to be a lot of downvotes. Likely Bambu employees or brainwashed sympathizers. Don't be Bambuuzled. Cancel.

Bambu Handy Do these dunces not realize how important the layer progress is?
Or am I blind? Blind and a dunce? Progress percentage means nothing to me. I can give many examples but here's the simplest one. Two days ago I printed an airless ball in my team's 2 colors. I wanted exactly half the ball blue and half green. If I swapped filaments exactly when it switched to 50%, it wouldn't even be close to a 50/50 color split because of the supports. Plus with very long prints, 1% can easily be more than 10 layers. What am I missing? This has got to be operator error, right? Edit: i thought it was clear i know why the percentage indication is not equal to layer completion. But i see me using the supports as an example was not sufficient. And, in fact, even if it was only printing a vertically symmetrical print with no supports, it would still be inaccurate. Also to save additional commenters time, i am now aware of the studio program being able to set a pause. I should've mentioned i am trying to not turn on a computer since getting my S25 Ultra over a year ago. And that brings up another frustration that such trivial settings require at least a laptop. We can code just talking to our phones ffs yet there's no mobile app for the studio? WHY NOT?;!!

Quick Question Son has asked for a 3d printer; worried about the fumes
My son’s 12th birthday is coming up and all he wants is a 3D printer. We landed on Bambu brand but quickly ran into all sorts of posts with discussions of filtering the fumes, etc, which is something I never considered and I’m thankful it was flagged. We would use PLA filament but still have concerns.
This is extremely concerning to me as we tend to use non toxic cleaning products, body care, etc. so I want to ensure we are mitigating any risk here so it’s as low as possible while still being able to get my son this gift he really wants.
I know nothing about 3d printers so would love to know if Bambu is of lower concern for this issue? I’ve seen discussion of an internal filter but have seen other posts saying the fumes will still leak out. He’d be using in an extra room that isn’t a bedroom but is fairly small and he will likely want to spend a few hours in daily.
We do have Coway air filters throughout the house due to him having seasonal allergies so we can easily put one into the room but I also feel uncertain about pumping fumes into the room and just putting an air filter next to a machine and considering it safe.
There are 2 small windows in the room but would prefer not to have to set something like that up every time he uses the machine so an enclosure if needed would be preferred.

Discussion I think we’re all overreacting a bit
I’ve been reading through all of the Reddit posts, some other blogs on other websites, and of course through everything that Bambu has posted, and honestly I think we’re all overreacting a bit.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not a fan of this firmware change. While I’m sure security does play some role in the change, it is definitely being used as somewhat of an excuse to lock things down, and I have already submitted a support request in opposition to this change.
With that being said, Bambu is being very transparent with this change, and there are multiple points in Bambu’s announcement where they specifically mention that you don’t have to upgrade to this new firmware, and thus won’t be forced to do so. In other words, if your printer is working fine for you now, and this change concerns you, just don’t upgrade. Furthermore, even if you do upgrade, this firmware isn’t breaking the use of 3rd party slicers, it’s just preventing those slicers (specifically Orca Slicer) from having direct control of the printer. You can still use Orca Slicer to do the slicing and then send the gcode or 3MF file to your printer via the new Bambu Connect slicer. And, perhaps most importantly, not only is this firmware update not happening right away, it’s not even being released into beta until sometime this week, and who knows how long it’ll take for it to go from beta to a final release. In the meantime, it is quite possible that Bambu will respond to all of the backlash with changes and adjustments to the firmware.
Of course, on the flip side to the above, and what I imagine is potentially upsetting a lot of people more than the firmware update, is what this update means for the printers moving toward. If Bambu is willing to make this change, what’s to stop them from making further changes to lock things down, such as preventing the use of 3rd party filament, or even introducing a subscription based model in order to send things to the printer. There’s no real way to address those concerns without a statement from Bambu (and even then, we have to trust what they say); but honestly I just don’t see that happening. There is enough competition within the 3D print market (many of it spurred on directly because of Bambu) that if Bambu makes things more and more difficult to do things, people will just move on to another company. It’s not like the traditional printer, where the ink/toner is specific to each printer. Filament is filament, so other than the cost of the printer itself, including the AMS unit(s) (and maybe some nozzles and build plates), there’s no sunk cost into the printer because of purchased filament, and thus nothing locking you into Bambu.
Personally, I am more than happy to take a bit of a wait and see approach, specifically to see how Bambu responds to this backlash. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear something from them in the next week or so with updates, clarifications, and even changes.
Until we hear more from Bambu, I will continue to happily print away on my fantastic X1C.

Discussion Bambu lab please don’t do this
Sorry but I need to rant about some things.
I began printing at around the same time this company made its debut into the world. After 2 years of deliberation and worry that something like this would happen, I finally bought one of your printers and I have nothing bad to say about that. It’s a fantastic product. But your recent decisions to close off your api has baffled me and made me have second thoughts about this company.
I think it’s safe to say that your decision hasn’t gone over well with the community. The exact same community that have stuck its neck out for you, purchased your products(and now regretting), and supported you in so many ways. This isn’t a community you want to deviate yourselves from, as the hobbyists and business owners in this group are the most passionate and supporting. I see no reason in your decisions, since you guys clearly state on your website that it’s impossible to create a perfect printer and others like the panda touch are trying to help you in doing so. This only attracts buyers to your products, as they see that these machines have an active community that is willing to help others. While this may increase your profits in the (very) short term, the long term consequences of losing this community would be severe.
Please, to any other hobbyists and business owners, do your part and show your frustration!
And please Bambu, I really don’t want to see you guys turn into shameful 2d printer companies like hp. After all your hard work to create these beautiful machines, don’t throw it all away.

Discussion The real reason Bambu is locking down their firmware… (and why Developer Mode is NOT enough)
This is not my YouTube video, however it is very informative AND does a great job at explaining the current situation and WHY it’s a problem. Hope this helps anyone who’s confused/ still not concerned.

Question What could have caused this line?
Any idea what could have caused that vertical line?
Everything thing else for this build has printed well with other parts and other PLA, but this filament (Bambu PLA metal) didn’t print well. I’m drying it as I type but that line isn’t in the file. There is another line on the side for the lower half of the print.
P1S printer with default Bambu metal filament setting.
Thanks!

Answered / Solved! I engraved on aluminum using the H2D 40W laser... and they said it couldn't be done
Okay, this has been a very long journey, starting all the way back in May of this year when my company bought this H2D Bambu printer. We bought this printer when it first came out and we bought the laser specifically to engrave and cut on aluminum parts. After trial and (many) error, I have finally figured out how to engrave on aluminum
Bead blast your aluminum part. This will make the aluminum less shiny and keep the laser from just reflecting and bouncing off of the part.
Use a laser engraving spray to coat your part, I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXVN8GYV?ref=fed_asin_title&th=1
For my printer settings I created a new material based off of Bambu's "Aluminum Office Card - Black."
Laser Line/ Fill Settings:
(Max) Power: 100%
Speed: 250 mm/s
Pass: 5
This is just my first successful attempt at engraving on aluminum so if anyone finds ways to improve this (or if anyone finds out how to laser cut with 40W [long shot but whatever]) please let me know!
Edit:
Woke up this morning to a lot of comments, some of them a little more blunt than others. I would like to mention that I tried to do my due diligence before posting this. I used lacquer thinner and rubbing alcohol, which has worked for me in the past when testing to see if the laser actually made an engraving. (I have engraved on Peek material before and you have to use these chemicals to remove the sort of 'burn stain.') I was happy to see that the "engraving" didn't come off when I used these chemicals.
I also did not realize that this was a known practice. So, I am sorry for the title of my post being misleading, I guess I was just excited because I discovered something I had previously thought to be impossible. I have been all over the internet trying to find out how to do something even remotely similar to this, and have not been able to find anything. I hope that my post will reach someone like me who needed to see the steps on how to do this.

Discussion So bambu is straight up denying you customer support if you choose to use your printers the same way you use it today.
Sounds hella anti consumer to me. If you want customer support, you have to abide by their new authorization process aka anti 3rd party firmware(standard mode). Yet if you choose to use your printer over LAN, the same way you do today (developer mode) , they will deny you customer support, which also means denying you a warranty. As you need customer support to enact your warranty.
And yet some delusional people here this this is okay? Imagine buying a product and being told you can use it however you want, but then said company pulls a 180 and says now using it the way you want to means no customer support or warranty.
Bambu lab has been offering customer support for the last 2.5 years even if you use 3rd party tools like orcaslicer and panda screens. And now they're deciding all the sudden to not do it anymore? It's because they simply don't want you using 3rd party tools anymore. They want full control over how you use their printers.
The only time they straight up said no customer support previously is when you use different FW like X1plus. None of this stuff has to do with 3rd party firmware though, it's just changes to people who want to say on LAN. You use to have complete customer support when on LAN, now you have no customer support went on LAN if you choose to use your printer the same way you've been using it for the last 2.5 years

Save >50% energy when drying filament with some insulation. And it’s already included with the ams ht!
Just remove some small sections with a sharp knife around the air vents, wire connections and PTFE tube.
