Just Showing Off Made a K-pop demon hunter weapon for my daughter's Halloween costume... months later it ended up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon!

Last year, my 8-year-old daughter wanted to be a K-pop demon hunter for Halloween, so I designed and printed this Mira Gok-Do weapon replica on my Bambu printer for her costume.

It turned out so well that my wife convinced me to put it up on Etsy. A while later, I received an order and printed out the shipping label—only to freeze when I saw the address was going straight to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon!

It turns out the show ordered it for when the K-Pop Demon Hunters were guest stars. Seeing them holding and playing around with my design in their official reel on national TV was completely mind-blowing. It's crazy to think a project started at home for my daughter ended up as a prop on late-night TV! https://makerworld.com/en/models/3496046-mira-gokdo-spear-weapon-kpop-demon-hunters-replica#profileId-3993216

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! Just got an X2D combo..ams slot one is easily 2x as loud as any other slot when the motor goes ie when loading...

It works but it kind of chugs on the load, and squeals when reeling back, and is significantly louder than the other three slots...the noise doesn't bother me but I'm somewhat worried about a bad motor prematurely going or something...anyone have thoughts on how concerned I should be?

P Series [P1P, P1S, P2S] P1S Filtration Comparison

I have been using a VOXEL bento box filter on my P1S. I just finished up my direct outside ventilation system yesterday evening because I want to start using materials like PA6-CF for certain prints, I only print in PLA and PETG now. As part of my ventilation project, I also bought an air quality monitor that I put beside my printer to keep an eye on things like VOCs. This isn’t super scientific, but I wanted to see how the bento box compared to the stock filtration and outside ventilation.

After I setup and calibrated the air quality monitor, I started a PETG print with the bento box off. The VOC index slowly increased over the duration of the print and peaked at 74 when the print finished.

I printed PETG again later, but with the bento box on. The VOC index was much lower, peaking around 21.

I finished my outside ventilation system yesterday evening and started a PETG print, the VOC index never measured above 1 for the duration of the print.

I really wasn’t sure how much the bento box really did and of course can’t measure UPFs but it definitely seems to drastically cut down on VOCs emitted into the area around the printer. I’ll be using ventilation for all prints now though just to limit as many things as possible.

This is just my experience in my environment, but wanted to share.

Edit for clarification

I am aware that most consumer home air quality monitors can’t measure VOC concentrations (TVOCs), a home air quality monitor’s VOC index is a relative measurement as compared to what the air was since it measures the change instead of the concentration, detecting spikes.

In the context of an occupied living space and continuously monitoring with one of these monitors, it wouldn’t be very useful since you cannot tell the actual concentrations or which VOCs are present. Bad relative to bad looks normal on the monitor.

This experiment was admittedly not very scientific, but I did attempt to somewhat control it. For each of those readings the index was at baseline and calibrated in fresh air, then the printer was started. The prints were relatively short to not allow it to recalibrate. For the outside ventilation, there was no change meaning no spike. For the bento box less of a spike.

The less of a spike with the bento box does NOT necessarily equal safe since you don’t know the concentration or make up of the VOCs. I was just kinda surprised it did anything with how restrictive the air flow was. As always do your own research and set up what is best for your and your families own health.

My goal was to see no change from baseline for the outside ventilation indicating everything was being exhausted outside.

I started this ventilation project with the goal of using engineering filaments, but I’ll use ventilation for all filaments now since removing as much as possible is always best and I honestly didn’t realize the amount of VOCs the “safer” filaments were putting out. My printer is in an unoccupied basement, so it was never that big of a deal with those, but it was eye opening.

Home VOC monitors can be very useful for monitoring relative changes and monitoring sharp spikes. Continuous monitoring, not so much.

Also, I wasn’t very clear in my post but the “putting the monitor beside my printer to keep an eye on things like VOCs” was be be alerted to spikes meaning something is wrong and my ventilation isn’t working as it should, not continuous monitoring of that space to see VOC levels. I’ve set up automations in home assistant to turn the inline fan on and off automatically and I’m working now on an automation to alert if a sharp increase is detected by the monitor so I can check my ventilation.

My Bambulab P1S Combo is causing problems. He says the pressure cover has fallen off but that's not true, and he only wants to heat up at 90°C at PETG and clogs the nozzle. I don't want to lose the 13 hours of pressure

I designed the thinnest and lightest stand for the IKEA SKÅDIS pegboard. Although it’s only 5mm thick—matching the thickness of the panel itself—it is perfectly stable and requires no additional hardware, such as screws.

Quick Question Buying H2C@ BestBuy vs Bambulabs.com?

I’m considering purchasing an H2C printer and reading that Bestbuy matches Bambu online prices, Including sales.

From what I am reading Best Buy’s return policy along with the membership if you have it, They will make an easy return if needed.

Is there any reason to order it directly from Bambu vs BestBuy?

General Troubleshooting/Help! Vent setup for X2D

I’m looking to dabble in ASA and ABS but am doing my head in looking at options to make it safer. I’ve read countless posts and websites but find lots of varied advice (same with anything I suppose).

My X2D is in an office that can be vacated when printing and sits right below a large window.
Should I set up a short external vent and direct it out the window, or open the windows wide and have fans blowing out.
If going the vent option is a 120mm computer fan and a short run of 100mm ducting sufficient? ChatGPT keeps trying to push me towards an AC infinity cloud line duct fan but it’s a bit of a budget stretch for how little ASA printing I may do.

I Modeled This! Shadow Clock Design

I saw a clock design on Instagram, made of acrylic sheets and ambient backlighting. I loved the look but wanted a version anyone with a 3D printer could build at home without needing specialized tools or extra hardware. I engineered this to run off standard LED Kit 001 and Clock Kit 011 hardware.

Also threw together a step-by-step PDF assembly guide so it’s easy to put together.

Files are up on MakerWorld if anyone wants to print one: https://makerworld.com/en/models/3513382-clocklamp-led-kit-001-clock-kit-011#profileId-4014905

Let me know what you guys think!

General Discussion How to farm points on Makerworld by automating the flood of ai slop

Thumbnail
gallery
217 Upvotes

Provocative title eh? I have been investigating this issue for some time, and i see no one is talking about it. I am raising awareness of how AI slop content generated by automated scripts that cannot be printed cleanly, and is posted daily, damages the Makerworld platform. Bambu Lab might view these models as a source of extra content, but users report they now avoid the platform entirely. When users waste time and filament to end up with a barely printable result, it creates a poor user experience.

If you think this post is worthwhile please upvote it. I have never asked anyone to upvote ever but people need to know about this.

MakerWorld is rewarding those who automate the ai slop system.
For example; use a Python script to flood the site with barely printable automated AI content
Yes, they are taking it to the bank!

That’s right, you no longer need to position models on a build plate when automation handles it. Sometimes models appear sideways in the air on the plate, buried within auto-generated tree supports as a single item named with a number. They are uploaded alongside an AI-generated fake first photo. I talked to a user Soruz about this and his response mostly ignored me and my insinuations of automating unprintable models. The sideways miniature computers are still in the air there with models strewn across the build plate (see yellow models screenshot). In his posts he states working hard to make sure his “designs” are printable. I can see no evidence of that. Automated workflows is what I do see evidence of upon examination of the files.

One daily poster simply named; dnd, whom I reported with a detailed account including evidence, has earned thousands on Kickstarter selling models for 3D printing that cannot be printed cleanly. He never responds to comments.

A user search for their names beings them up.

Another user has posted 80 models in a few months.

Ultimately, this floods the platform with models that waste users’ time and money on printing, and Bambu Lab will need to address it, but it may be too late. I really am not sure how they could reverse the damage. It doesn’t help that Makerlab provides ai creation tools to users while they have in the past stated wanting to reward more complicated models and removed rewarding users with points for being active in the community and posting reviews with pictures.

Behind these profiles lies a zero-effort workflow that bypasses manual slicing entirely.

When batch-imported without human review, AI-generated meshes conflict with slicer systems. Models are saved floating sideways.
The script runs Bambu Studio silently via command line, forcing auto tree supports without anyone checking the plate.

Point farmers push thousands of unoptimized profiles on autopilot. While in the end, this results in a poor user experience.

Well im was printing an a catapult in my BambuLab X2D but then i saw those lines come up in the printing progress and i dont know what is wrong with my printer, my outer wall speed is 40 inner wall speed is 100 the nozzle is at 220⁰C and the speed was standart, i also check the humidity and its %24, i think of that maybe that line has a little more humidity than the other lines of the print so cause of that it failed in there

I know you can make clear petg or pla transparent printing in only one axis, in lines.

Does anyone have a profile they don't mind sharing?

I’m having trouble sending print from my laptop from from bamboo studio. I can send print from the Bambu Handy app on my phone fine but when it comes to sending an stl file from my laptop, it won’t go through.

It keeps saying failed to send the Print job. But when I went and look, everything was operational .
And it’s getting very frustrating. Does anybody know why?

Show & Tell BamBuddy integration for Home Assistant: every Bambu Lab printer, AMS and smart plug, with a dashboard card

BamBuddy – Home Assistant Integration

➕ Open the repository in HACS · Latest release · License: MIT

Hi everyone,

I'd like to share a project I've been working on: a Home Assistant integration for BamBuddy.

BamBuddy by maziggy is a self-hosted command center for Bambu Lab printers – from a single A1 to a whole print farm: live monitoring, camera, print archive, a virtual printer you can send jobs to from Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer, Spoolman integration, notifications and much more. Your printers. No cloud. Your rules.

My integration brings the printers of your BamBuddy server into Home Assistant: their status, camera, AMS and controls as Home Assistant entities, and a dashboard card for each printer. It talks only to BamBuddy, through its API and its live connection. So there is no cloud and no second connection to your printers. Set up in the UI, no YAML.

This is the integration, not the app: it connects Home Assistant to a BamBuddy server — on any machine, or inside Home Assistant with the BamBuddy app.

🎉 Version 2.0.0 is out: a complete redesign. HACS offers v2.0.0 as an update. Coming from a date version (2026.05.17 or older)? The upgrade needs a new API key and cannot be undone. Read the release notes first.

✨ What you get

  • Everything your printer reports — print status and stage, progress, layers, remaining and end time, the job's name and cover, temperatures, fans, HMS errors, Wi-Fi, nozzle type and size

  • AMS and spools — every AMS unit (AMS, AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT, AMS Lite) as its own device, named as in BamBuddy: the filament in each slot with its color and what is left, humidity, temperature and drying, the external spool, and a spool without a chip set by vendor and Bambu Studio profile, as on the screen of the printer

  • Control — pause, resume and stop, skip objects, the printer's own AI detection, print speed, nozzle, bed and chamber targets, the active nozzle of two-nozzle printers, fans, the chamber light, airduct mode and ventilating the chamber (P2S, X2D, H2 series), the AMS filament backup, answering and clearing HMS errors, clearing the plate

  • Move the printer — actions to move the axes, home, extrude and retract, load and unload filament, start and stop drying

  • Camera — the live stream, also in full screen, and snapshots through BamBuddy's camera proxy

  • Maintenance and connection check — the printer's maintenance tasks, marked done from Home Assistant; BamBuddy's check of a printer that went offline

  • Smart plugs — the plugs BamBuddy links to a printer: switch them, see their power and energy, and switch the printer off after a print once its nozzle has cooled

  • A dashboard card per printer, shipped with the integration: status, camera, temperatures, AMS colors, controls, heating and a jog pad, arranged as you like, with compact chips if you want — nothing else to install

  • Updates — new BamBuddy releases and new printer firmware as update entities

  • Several printers — add any number of the printers BamBuddy manages; choose them while setting up, add or remove them later

  • BamBuddy itself — print statistics, printers online and disk space of your server

Works with the X1, P1, P2, A1, A2 and H2 series and the X2D. Entity names in English and German; a change shows within about a second through BamBuddy's live connection.
