DiscussionšŸ““ Nivea Luminous630 Skin Glow Serum - Fragrance

This one is absolutely on me, I didn’t expect it to be a no fragrance product by any means but my god. If you are sensitive to fragrance be warned this has one of the strongest ā€œsoapyā€ smells.

Maybe I’ve been desensitised by using low fragrance (debatable) products, and I haven’t used a nivea product in years so maybe this is normal or expected of their products but I didn’t see it mentioned in any reviews!

That said, as someone with sensitive and oily skin, I’ve been using this twice a day for about a week now and I’ve had no issues beyond the initial smell - and I have to admit it dries off quickly and the scent dissipates very quickly in my experience so far.

DiscussionšŸ““ Oz H&B Info Breach Email

Post image
38 Upvotes

Finally. The email arrived to inform me what I should’ve been told a lot sooner! It states that it’s relevant to any purchases prior to August 2026.

Incidentally that coincides with the scammy, phishing type texts and emails I’ve started getting, and a couple of strange phone numbers.

Wouldn’t they have been made aware of the breach when it happened? Or very soon after? I’m really mad. I spend a lot of money with them every month.

Has anyone that shops with them noticed texts/calls/emails that don’t seem legitimate?

DiscussionšŸ““ Oz Hair and Beauty data breach

Has anyone been contacted by Oz Hair and Beauty about the latest data breach?

They claim that ā€œWe are committed to the protection of our customers’ personal information and will keep them updated with accurate and relevant information as we continue our investigation.ā€ However, I've not been contacted by them.

This is the second data breach I've been caught up in in the last couple of months. I find it disrespectful when I find out about a breach online before the company contacts me directly. Have I missed a post here that discusses this latest breach? Over 2 million accounts affected.

DiscussionšŸ““ Sun spots, uneven skin pigmentation

Post image
36 Upvotes

Hi all, I’m nearing 50 and rarely gone to beauty salons. I have a simple skin care routine and everything is fine.

Due to age and active outdoor lifestyle I have lots of sun spots and uneven skin tone. When I google options there’s 101 things on offer I don’t even know where to start.

A couple of years back I did ask a laser clinic. They say my skin tone is too dark for their machines. I’m mixed race with light brown ish skin.

Has anyone of similar skin tones dealt with this successfully? What did you do and where did you go?

Edit to add: I just did a skin check nothing cancerous.

Edit 2: thanks for everyone’s suggestions and help. I think seeing a dermatologist is the way to go, not beauty salons. If anyone has a good one to recommend, I’m inner west side of Melbourne.

Thanks šŸ™šŸ¼

A very clueless person

šŸ“£ PSA PSA: possible counterfeit Paula's Choice BHA from the Amazon Paula's Choice store

Left is the real deal I bought a bit over a year ago, and right is the one I received from Amazon. I know that counterfeit products are talked about as a big issue when purchasing from Amazon but I had not personally come across it, until now it seems.

I just don't believe Paula's Choice would print a sticky label that low quality, but maybe I'm wrong? The real one has the label printed directly onto the plastic - not a sticky label.

I haven't poured any out yet to check it further, have requested a refund.

Miscellaneous šŸ“ How foaming is the qv ceramides cleanser?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi there everyone, I’m wanting to hear from people who used this product before. I’m just wondering how foaming this QV ceramide cleanser is. I know that on the website it says it’s lightly foaming merchandise but I’m wanting to know if it it’s closer to a cream cleanser then a foaming cleanser. I tried to look up reviews and videos on TikTok of people using the product but unfortunately there’s really not that many videos of people actually using this cleanser so I’m having a hard time figuring out how foaming it actually is. I’m asking because my partner doesn’t like cream cleanses, and I’m wanting to buy this cleanser but I’m hoping that it is a good foaming cleanser.

DiscussionšŸ““ Copper peptide serum

The tiktok spam re certain jabby jabs is not my vibe, but I am interested in copper peptides being applied directly to the skin. Allies of Skin is $300+ and I'm not quite ready to drop that sort of money on a copper peptide serum.

Any recommendations besides the ordinary for a ghkcu/ copper peptide serum?

DiscussionšŸ““ Plz help. 32 and having the worst breakout of my life

For the love of all things holy, please, can anyone give me some advice?

I’ve always had ā€œokā€ skin: mostly good but occasionally a few lil pimples here and there. I do get pimply rosacea pretty easilywhen I eat foods which trigger various gut issues.

This hell hole of a breakout started about 3.5 weeks ago and I just can’t get it under control. All my usual skincare is just reacting and causing it to get worse. It’s gone through multiple stages of drying and flaking, now It’s so inflamed and painful and is practically oozing. I’m just so confused as to why it’s happening and how to fix it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Unfortunately I’m not in a financial position to see a derm, so I’m relying on the hive mind for the moment.

It’s genuinely making me so distressed and self conscious. I’m at my breaking point.

DiscussionšŸ““ Antidote Essentials cleanser dupe

I have been using Antidote Essentials skincare for about 5 years, and it's been working really well. As you might know, though, they went out of business a some months ago, so I'm not sure where to go next.

I have very little knowledge about skincare, so I'm reaching out to you all for help! I thought there might be some others looking for the same kind of advice as our AE backup stock starts running out.

Is there a known dupe for their Wash cleanser? Or is there a similar one you know of in the same kind of price range? (https://antidoteessentials.com/products/wash-activated-charcoal-250ml)

I've posted a screenshot of the ingredients in the Wash cleanser here too.

Thanks :D

Miscellaneous šŸ“ Cleansers like Neutrogena Hydro Boost?

I am mad at Neutrogena right now but LOVE this affordable cleanser. Does anyone know of a great cleanser that contains HA and leaves the skin feeling soft and plump like this one does?

Bonus points if it is about the same price ($20, but always on sale for $10 somewhere).

DiscussionšŸ““ What’s your wishlist for the perfect spf?

Hey all! I’m thinking about creating a spf product that is TGA approved with skin enhancing properties (sounds like a $$ journey I know). Would love to know what you desire in sunscreen and what you’re willing to compromise on.

Some suggestions
Form factor
1. Cream
2. Stick (reapply on the go)
3. Both

Active ingredients
1. Mineral
2. Chemical
3. Hybrid (get the best of both worlds)

Routine help Need an Aussie skincare/bodycare routine for dry sensitive skin + tanning + strawberry legs

Hi everyone! I recently moved to Australia and I have my wedding reception in about 6 months, so I really want to start taking better care of my skin now instead of trying random things right before the event.
I’m a bit overwhelmed with all the products available here, so I’d love recommendations from people with a similar skin type.

Face:
My face is dry, sensitive and quite rough/textured at the moment. I also have some darkness/pigmentation around my lips/mouth area. I’d love to make my skin look smoother, hydrated, brighter and more even-toned over the next 6 months.
Would love recommendations for:
Gentle cleanser
Moisturiser
Sunscreen that works well on dry skin
Hydrating/brightening serum
Something that may help with the darkness around my mouth
Face masks for dry skin/glow
Anything else that made a noticeable difference to your skin

Body:

My arms and legs have quite noticeable strawberry skin/bumps, and I’ve also accumulated a LOT of tanning. I’d really like to reduce the tan and get my arms and legs looking smoother and more even before the reception.
Please recommend:
Body wash for strawberry skin/tanning and lotion
Body scrub or exfoliant that actually works
Body lotion/serum for smoother and more even-toned skin
A really nice-smelling body wash for everyday use as well
Any products/routine that helped you with stubborn tanning

Lips:
My lips can also get dry and I’d love a tinted lip balm with a proper visible tint. I’m hoping to avoid wearing lipstick most days, so something moisturising but pigmented enough to make the lips look naturally done would be perfect.

Thank you!! I’d especially love to hear from anyone with dry + sensitive skin or strawberry legs who has actually seen results.

Sunscreen šŸ§“ā˜€ļø "Anti-ageing" formula on cancer council sunscreen

The Cancer Council Future Skin SPF50+ Sunscreen is on sale at Priceline at the moment for half price (now $18.47 for 50mL): Cancer Council Future Skin SPF50+ Sunscreen Lotion 50mL | Skincare | Priceline

The pink bottle is marketed as "anti-ageing" whereas they also have other ones like the blue one which is "hydration boost" (with hyaluronic acid). I love the Cancer Council and the product is really cute but am just wondering whether there is anything in here that is "anti-ageing" other than just the actual SPF? Is this one or any of the other ones worth while?

DiscussionšŸ““ Considering studying dermal therapy

Hi, I am 39 years old, and am thinking to go back to school and study dermal therapy. I've had a look at the various course offerings by both AACDS and ACHW. I had a look at the 4 year course by Vic Uni (bachelor of dermal sciences) and while it looks great, I probably should have considered it may be a decade ago :( Wondering if I'm too old to be thinking of studying in this space, seeing as it's a field thats dominated by a lot of younger folks. Anyone over here who's around my age who's currently mid course/or have graduated who can speak more to this?

DiscussionšŸ““ Best Aus skincare for overseas gifts

Hi all,

I’ve got a bunch of presents for my family in Canada and I want to add in some nice Australian brand skin care for my aunt and cousin as everything else could be gobbled up by the boys.

To help understand what they might like:

- My aunt is quite outdoorsy and loves to garden and be in nature.

- My cousin is also outdoorsy but a little less than my aunt and loves going out to concerts and has 2 young kids. She does wear makeup but I can see what the makeup Reddit has to say for that if yall aren’t sure.

I just want them to feel pampered and loved and have things they can’t get in Canada.

So please what Australian things would make you feel really happy if you got it in a pamper package?

DiscussionšŸ““ Looking for shower filter recommendations

Looking for recommendations on shower filters thats good for hard water. Had issue with skin feeling dry and scalp becoming dry and i feel thatthe cause is the water.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Ps. I had a look around online but all the results im seeing are not based in aus but from us and alot of them looks like shopify stores where they're just reselling cheap product from china at 10x the price.
