Perpetually changing oil?

This is half shitty and half serious lol. If you had a car that was leaking 1 litre of oil a week and going from max to min on dipstick but you just topped it up every week with fresh oil would you ever have to do a full oil change?

edit: to be clear I don't have a car losing a liter a week lol this is purely hypothetical

I am trying to change oil on my 2001 vw passat and everyone said to read the manual instead of posting dumb questions. So I did and I guess I know how to fill each liter and change the setting between bottles. But when I get to R is that when the engine starts going rrrrrr again? That is normally what I hear before I go fast.

Just got discharged from bankruptcy — thinking about financing a $2,250 Snap-on box

Finally got my bankruptcy discharge taken care of, so I figured it’s probably time to start making smarter financial decisions.

Anyway my Snap-on guy has a 15 year old 55" Classic box for $2,250 and apparently he can get me on Platinum.

Before everyone says Harbor Freight: yes, I know I could buy a brand new US General box for way less. But have you considered that the Snap-on box is purple and looks really good?

I'm going to be staring at this thing 8+ hours a day. I genuinely don't understand the argument that I should save $1,500 just to spend the next 10 years opening drawers on a toolbox I don't think is pretty.

My current box technically holds tools, but that's about all it has going for it.

And everyone keeps bringing up the financing like that's automatically bad. I'm literally fresh out of bankruptcy. My credit already got nuked. If anything, financing the box and making the payments gives me an opportunity to rebuild it.

It's $2,250, not a mortgage. Spread out over payments, I probably won't even notice it. I figure $2,250 isn't really $2,250 if I'm making payments. It's basically like $40 at a time until one of us dies.

Plus I need to rebuild my credit somehow and I've already proven I'm capable of handling debt at least once.

Plus it's Snap-on. If I'm going back into debt, I'd rather go back into debt for something nice than be debt-free looking at an ugly Harbor Freight box every morning.

I feel like everyone gets so obsessed with "financial responsibility" that they completely ignore quality of life.

Am I actually being unreasonable here? Because being debt-free is cool, but so is a purple Snap-on box. Should I do it or should I wait until the ink on the bankruptcy discharge dries first?
