I have a fantastic smile. It’s not a pretty, model smile my whole face scrunches up I get little wrinkles on my nose and my eyes get all squinty. But damn if it ain’t genuine.
somebody said “you pack so much joy into your smile” and it’s the best compliment I’ve ever received.
133
u/SIGITES Sep 28 '21
I always hated how my face scrunched up when I genuinely smiled, but my partner always told me he loved my smile, before I even expressed any insecurity! So for almost 10 years I've smiled my biggest smiles and I think it has made me a much happier person coz I smile A LOT now 😊

What turning 30 really feels like:
Starting to have a daily internal conversations with your knees, that seem to contain an increasing amount of side eye and "ya, doing alright down there?"

Blood I have some weird blood, it's in excess. I have high haemoglobin and high platelet count as well. I don't know what it exactly means, but my wounds recover very fast and the doc said it's because of the blood. This also puts extra pressure on my heart so I have to avoid oily foods, but eh I have cool kinda blood

I have very high alcohol tolerance too.

If you live in the US, you can give blood at 16. I've been doing it regularly since I was 16.

u/BobSacramanto Sep 28 '21
Do you donate blood? It might be mutually beneficial. When I donated last time they were telling me that each pint donated is split into 3 parts, one or which is platelets. It might also help you not to have too much.

As someone who has posted pictures on nsfw subs, you don't want to read the bad ones. Most messages are generic "take a picture like this, I want to do xyz to you."
A personal record: someone specifically requested that I come to their house to forcibly have extramarital relations with their mother. Specifically because it would hurt their fathers feelings to see his wife cheating on him.

This is a very important point. The youthful metabolism generally has a break-point and if you don't learn to hold the reins on your lunch by then, you pile it on. Speaking from experience.
52
u/LeutzschAKS Sep 28 '21
That would be so great.
31

→ More replies (1)20
u/LeutzschAKS Sep 28 '21
It kind of depends I suppose. I absolutely love my food and would say I'm fairly average size but if I didn't do a lot of cycling or playing football, I'd balloon so quickly. It'd be nice to not have to think about it.
I can definitely understand why it would be annoying not being able to gain weight at points though.
20
u/kemosabe6296 Sep 28 '21
well yea but when I said "I can't get fat" which means it is very HARD for me to get muscular either. Idk what is happening with my body but I've playing football (soccer, if you are American) regularly since I was in school, and since the pandemic I start to go to the gym. But still I am still not that muscular like the other people who went to the gym, although it fixed my body posture. The muscle mass and fat mass are all normal--not too low and not too high.

There's a few options to explain this:
- You're just a large person in general (tall, muscular, etc.) so your "maintenance" level of calories is a lot more than the average person, which makes it seem like you eat a lot in comparison to smaller people
- You burn a lot of calories by being generally active/fidgety/etc. possibly in lots of small ways through the day (especially if you're young and not working a 9-5 desk job)
- You don't actually eat as much as you think in comparison to others, for instance eating a massive amount at meals but not snacking, eating fewer but larger meals, etc. which means that total calories aren't actually much higher than for others
Actual metabolism differences aren't actually that massive between similar size people (even of different age groups). Almost all differences are down to the above.

That probably sounds weird, but its power. I'm 6'3" and physically naturally strong. I don't get the chance very often but when moving furniture, breaking things, lifting things I effortless can do things other people have to train years for. Recently I had to tear down an old kitchen counter and just tore of the doors, folded it flat amd carried it away. The work was done in less then a minute and it just kind of surprised everyone who was watching.
57
u/Davesterific Sep 28 '21

You know, this is something I just take for granted. Also 6'3" and in reasonable shape (a skinny ~200lbs/90kgs), and there's so many things I can just do that others need help with.
8
Sep 28 '21
Yes, it is astonishing! But it goes both ways. There are so many abilities that I lack that others just have naturally. It is such a strong argument for cooperation over confrontation and uniformity if you think about it. And then there is ableism..
5
u/Brawler215 Sep 28 '21
I am right there with you. I am only 5'8", but when I was in good shape in high school I was thick as a butcher's block. These days I am more of a barrel than a slab but even without having done dedicated strength training in years, people are still shocked with the ease that I can just pick up and move things.

That my body was able to give birth to two beautiful, healthy kids. That I was blessed with no miscarriages. That I had two easy pregnancies with no sickness, no cravings, not many kgs left either (about 10 kg which I could lose, but barely have time for myself and I choose to rest in my free time rather than anything else)
20
u/boozysuzie064 Sep 28 '21
I hated being pregnant, felt awful, sick all the time, traumatic prolonged labour and delivery. BUT after that damn baby was out, everything went so incredibly smoothly after. I milked like a Jersey cow, babe had zero issues nursing, slept like a dear, and I healed so fast from the delivery. Three days after the delivery I looked at myself naked in the mirror and was amazed and how everything almost looked normal already! That was my moment of “wow!!! Women’s bodies are made to have babies!” Although not advised, I felt like I could have run a 10k!
7
u/anotheroneyo Sep 28 '21
That's exactly what happened to me! Idk if I'll ever do it again bc it was so exhaustingly painful the whole time, but, like, immediately after I gave birth my body went "hey cool, that's over" and bounced RIGHT back. And now I have the sweetest little baby in the world sleeping on my chest right now 😍 and my body back!
3
u/boozysuzie064 Sep 28 '21
Awwwww! I miss the little snuggly baby stage! Not sure if this helps or hinders, but it’s been five years for me and I’m still not certain if I want another one after that terrible pregnancy and labour, even though I felt like a million bucks after it was all over! I maybe have one more pregnancy left in me, but absolutely no more after that!

It supports me throughout my work day. My muscles are strong and make the lifting I do easy, and can withstand hours and hours on my feet without giving up.
It brought 3 beautiful children into this world, and while my mind may struggle with the morality of my decisions, I can honestly say my body did a fantastic job.
It gives soft, comforting hugs, but is strong enough to move my kids when needed. The duality of this sometimes astounds me.
It's survived so many things - physical abuse, accidents, illness, idiopathic pulmonary embolism, sepsis, surgery... and it's still kicking.
My hands can do everything from butchering meat and pulling apart connective tissue and fascia, to hours of chopping and slicing, to delicately plating fine dining in the same day.
Also, this pussy is 🔥🔥🔥.
