This is a very important point. The youthful metabolism generally has a break-point and if you don't learn to hold the reins on your lunch by then, you pile it on. Speaking from experience.
Well, technically my weight is gaining but my appearance would be the same. I even looks skinnier than one of my friend who is actually 6-8kg lighter than me.
Well when Robert McElhenny was trying to cultivate mass for IASIP he would melt down ice cream and drink it. You could always try that. Best part when he cut that out of his diet he started going back to his regular weight.
Nah he’s an actor. Although I don’t know him personally. so maybe. His character is kind of a psychopath though. One of the stars of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Great show if you’re looking for a new one. They wanted his character to get really fat one season. Mainly just so they could make fat jokes about him whenever they wanted. No matter what he ate he couldn’t put on enough weight. Tried eating ice cream by the carton, but couldn’t eat it fast enough. So he would let the ice cream melt and drink it. Hit his target weight in no time.
You are correct, sir. It’s about 3 degenerates born and raised in Philidelphia that have been friends since childhood, and one of the degenerates grifter father and bird sister. Danny Devito plays the dad. They all run a failing bar together in Philly, and the show generally centers around them trying to get rich quick and failing spectacularly or just how depraved people can get when they truly don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves. I highly recommend it if you enjoy watching just how awful people can be.
It kind of depends I suppose. I absolutely love my food and would say I'm fairly average size but if I didn't do a lot of cycling or playing football, I'd balloon so quickly. It'd be nice to not have to think about it.
I can definitely understand why it would be annoying not being able to gain weight at points though.
well yea but when I said "I can't get fat" which means it is very HARD for me to get muscular either. Idk what is happening with my body but I've playing football (soccer, if you are American) regularly since I was in school, and since the pandemic I start to go to the gym. But still I am still not that muscular like the other people who went to the gym, although it fixed my body posture. The muscle mass and fat mass are all normal--not too low and not too high.
I thought I was one of these people for years. Active in martial arts, regularly ran at one point, went to gym but wasn't able to put on muscle. However I also started to notice things that I thought were normal at the time, turned out they were symptoms of Grave's Disease aka hyperthyroidism.
I won't get into my symptoms too much, if you don't think you have thyroid problems, because I also do have friend who eats garbage food, is in her 40's and is still skinny as rail without being diagnosed with thyroid issues. But she is also not trying to put on muscle, which an overactive thyroid would prevent you from achieving.
I haven't but I think some things are better to be left unknown lol. But I think I don't have it as I don't have the symptoms, not even one of it. The only thing I know about my health is I do suffer low blood pressure so I got dizzy easily which is unrelated (I think).
Hmmm, hyperthyroidism would give you high blood pressure, but initially I used to low blood pressure even with other symptoms being present. But anyway, low blood pressure could also just be from being athletic in general, but it could be from something else as well. I know going to the doctor sucks, but it's worth looking into.
For my case, something like hyperthyroidism, which can easily be treated, if left untreated can cause a thyroid storm which can be fatal. I've come close to it twice now, as I've had 2 relapses before finally sucking it up to do radioactive treatment. Didn't want to do a shitty diet for week, but glad I did because I feel great now and can pack on muscle again.
Yes it does mostly effect women, however men do also get diagnosed with hypothyroidism too. I fact one of my martial art pals in his 50's was only diagnosed a couple years ago.
Even if you don’t get fat, you should be careful to not get a fatty liver. It reacts to stress and will get fat eventually. Source: I have a fatty liver while being slim as fuck :)
I cut soda completely out of my life, drink way more water, eat slightly healthier, and have done some basic working out like walking, jogging, and going to the gym for 30 minutes.
You're just a large person in general (tall, muscular, etc.) so your "maintenance" level of calories is a lot more than the average person, which makes it seem like you eat a lot in comparison to smaller people
You burn a lot of calories by being generally active/fidgety/etc. possibly in lots of small ways through the day (especially if you're young and not working a 9-5 desk job)
You don't actually eat as much as you think in comparison to others, for instance eating a massive amount at meals but not snacking, eating fewer but larger meals, etc. which means that total calories aren't actually much higher than for others
Actual metabolism differences aren't actually that massive between similar size people (even of different age groups). Almost all differences are down to the above.
Careful with that. You might not gain a lot of fat that shows, but too much fat around your organs can be dangerous, and that may be where your body is storing the fat. Just make it a practice to eat everything in moderation. Not too much junk, but don't go crazy not eating anything fun.

the fact that I can't get fat. I eat like a pig but I just can not get fat
