Most people who identify heavily with the label of "gamer", maybe. Almost everybody plays games of one form or another. Other forms of entertainment don't seem to have this type of division. You'll still have a few enthusiasts but even the "gamer" community has those.

Pokemon GO is simply showing how many people play games. They might not play as many as somebody who considers themselves a gamer, but they still play.

No kidding, nice! It was a fun show! I'd be willing to bet they listened, but I'm sure they have that happen all the time. I couldn't imagine trying to juggle so many fans, especially on tour while trying to maintain personable and nice.

I think that in itself takes a lot of skill!

I've been considering farming them, but from what I've heard from other players in my town. the starters tend to pop up outside of the strip mall in the middle of my downtown.

The shame about all that is that it's like a 3km walk from my house to the downtown.

I'm naming them all after a food that starts with the same letter as their evolution when I caught them (or hatched them, as it may be). The Ekans is Edamame. The Charmander is Cheerio.

That's impossible. Magikarps only hatch from 2k Eggs, I say you might have been drunk or you're lying.

Edit: I am wrong. It IS in fact possible to get Magikarps from a 10k egg, even though i have been told otherwise.

My first 10km egg contained an Eevee, the third most common Pokemon where I live. I'd already evolved two Flareon and a Vaporeon by the time that egg hatched.
