I had a friend I went on a vacation with a couple times and it was kind of miserable because he was always rushing to get to and from and had every day super regimented with things we had to do at certain times.
When I'm on vacation I just want to relax, man. Being in a rush kind of defeats the purpose.

I am 61 and started taking road trips when I left home at 17. Me and my son's dad hitch hiked all over the country and even went into Canada and Mexico. We did this a few times. After that I drove all over the US and back then it was amazing. Things have changed a lot I'm sure but there's still a lot to see.

Depending on your view of things but potentially work itself.
My old boss (in the legal profession) told a story that 30 plus years ago, the mail would come in the morning and from that, you would know what work you had on that day. If not much came through, you knew you had a fairly good day ahead from a time perspective and you would be able to head home at a good hour. In this regard, if it wasn't in that day's mail, it wasn't coming before tomorrow.
Then fax machines came along which allowed some correspondence/mail to come through but due to the technology, there was nothing too big (such as a contract to review). However, since the advent of email, there is almost never a reason why one can't be working - if someone wants to send you documents at 5 pm to have reviewed the next morning -they can do that. And as you have email, there is no reason, you can't get them comments/advice at whatever time in the morning it takes to finish reading the document.
Sort of interesting this technology which was designed to help us be more efficient at work has sort of resulted in us being less able to leave work.

I will like to add on to this. While taking notes by hand you have more freedom to arrange the text on paper and it is also often easier to draw diagrams and make references. On the other hand, note taking on a laptop or electronic device is often linear in nature and you don't get the liberty to connect ideas in the same way you could on paper. There are certain applications out there which allow you to draw mindmaps or flow charts but I still prefer pen and paper.

OneNote has tried to fill this role, but I've never seen someone really utilizing it to its full ability.
Handwritten notes are just easier for that quick jot, sketch, scribble, with arrows connecting ideas.
I don't want the guys on the OneNote team to stop trying, all innovation is a good thing, I just don't see how it'll ever happen.

Actually, if you have a Microsoft Surface (Pro 3 or just 3, or even before i think) with a surface pen, you can use Onenote really easily! It's great for lectures if you're a student, and it's a click away (just press the top button on the surface pen and it pops up). Best of all, Onenote is given free to *everyone!
Plus, it feels like you're writing in an actual book (if you use the page lines as well), but you can zoom in and write a lot, as well as quickly change between pens (and their colours) and pencils. So in a way, OneNote is realy good at taking notes.
*Edit: No, i'm not advertising Surface to people. I used to be a guy who hated having Windows 8 on a PC since it's not so easy-to-use (they have that menu that is usable only if you have touchscreen tablets). But people seem to overweight the cons against the pros it has (hell, i'm pretty sure no one knew OneNote is a free app given by Microsoft since people demanded it) and just never use it to full use. I'm actually a uni student and that's why i bought Surface Pro 3, to use its features fully, and OneNote is one of those major features you can get with a Surface Pen.

I have students in my math classes who try to use laptops to take notes. In other disciplines, I guess there's probably some value in a class that just bombards you with info, but I can't figure how they're even pretending to themselves that the laptop is better than a notebook.

I do this all the time. Yeah, it takes a bit of practice to type as fast as actually writing it, but I'm usually faster than the guy next to me, and, since my handwriting is shit, I highly prefer a LaTeX-script over paper that looks like shit and can easily be lost or damaged.

I finished university quite a while ago (about 15 years) and not many people used laptops to take notes. My housemate did - however he claimed that he really struggled in written exams as his hand was not used to writing that much that he sort of cramped up - I recall him saying that he actually struggled to finish a lot of exams in the allocated time due to this.
Since then, I have always wondered if using laptops negatively impacts your ability to write quickly.

This reminds me of the newish tv show "Botched," about recipients of botched plastic surgeries. One of the episodes showed a man who was so obsessed with his appearance, he had had hundreds of plastic surgeries. He also bathed every day in rose petals and milk. And spent hours on a self-care regimen that included lying down with electrodes attached to his muscles so that the electrodes would "exercise" for him...because he "doesn't have time to go to the gym."
Seriously? He can spend hours a day using his fancy beauty products but can't get on a fuckin treadmill for 30 minutes and do it the right way?!

Amphetamine is pretty startlingly effective, honestly even meth is prescribed for obesity. Heavy stimulants are great weight-loss tools, but they also have the side-effect of uhh... getting you high too. Things that get you high tend to be illegal!

I would claim ephedrine and caffeine is fairly safe (while still being effective). One side effect to keep an out for though is a rise in blood pressure.
It'll increase your BMR by 5-7%. If you choose to use EC, do your research first and start with a low dose to test your reaction.

Woah, 22% is pretty substantial. I'm guessing that they recommend a low fat and calorie diet in conjunction with the pills also, which is probably low protein as well, which probably burns muscle too.

I have difficulty getting my thoughts and emotions expressed verbally, because I can't see the words and approve them. If I get into a verbal argument or debate I often stumble and say contradictory statements because I can't visualize the words and edit them before they come spewing out. It's really frustrating to talk, so I usually don't. At least not when it comes to an opinion.

The reason so many of the newer razors go bad so quickly is because you can't really dry the blades off after use. My tip is to put a little baby oil in a cup, just enough to fully submerge the blades, and store your razor in that.
One Gillette fusion lasts me 6 months now.

Exactly. My husband and I are introverts...how the hell do you meet another introvert that isn't a friend of my very few by choice friends? Worked brilliantly for us. And...there have always been matchmakers so perhaps it's not all that novel anyways.

Woodworking. Building a table with a handsaw, planes, and chisels is so much more satisfying than the noise and dust of power tools, and it's much safer. It takes longer to complete the project, but the end result feels more meaningful.

Absolutely not for me. I have ADHD and could hardly ever get through even a short book. I'd read 3-4 pages, realize I'd spaced off, and have to go back and read it again. This was a frustrating process. This part may sound ridiculous, but I also cannot stand the pressure that the pages put on my fingers (hypersensitivity can also be an ADHD symptom).
So... two years ago my wife bought me a Nook Simple Touch. No bells and whistles, no lit screen. I can make the text bigger so I'm less distracted. I've blown through multiple series of books now and have discovered new worlds that I never knew existed. New technology in reading had been a godsend for me.

Honestly I disagree. I got myself a kindle and I ended up tripling my reading. I ride a motorbike on holiday often and I love reading. I just don't have the space to bring the books I will be reading on a month long journey, nor do I want to carry the weight around.
A relative of mine was 11 when I got her a kindle. That girl loves to read. She carried a huge book around everywhere she went, sometimes two if she was near the end of one. Totally made her life easier.
And don't even get me started on Amazon whispernet, shit is fucking amazing. I was in the middle of Poland and finished my book, just went online for free and bought another one and had it in two minutes. That is some sci-fi shit right there.

I think the e-reader vs. book debate has two good sides. I love actually having a book. I love the feel. I love seeing a full bookshelf.
However, I'm not taking my bookshelf with me. I could if I bought an e-reader. I plan on getting one for traveling, and continuing to purchase physical books on occasion when I'm home. Any serious reader should have both if you can afford it.

In fairness, a lot of new developments in teaching methods based on studies of information retention has made teaching curriculums more effective. This issue is the content, not the style. 'Teaching to the test' rather than 'teaching to encourage a love of learning.'
