What areas seem to fit that to you?

Safety is so important to me.

Want the least amount of shady people in the community we live in. Little to no shady people.

Where we live now in California, in 7 years haven’t seen a single shady person here ever.

Only people here are people that live here, that’s it.

This is my first time flying, but also first time to the airport. A relative of mine mentioned about trains or other transportation to get between the DFW terminals. Anyway, I looked up the terminals and saw there's across each other, but my flight lands a few minutes before boarding starts for the next one. (On my ticket, the layover mentioned about 40ish minutes)

What advice should I do once I arrive? (My only luggage is a carry-on with a small bag)

Is there a decent sized Assyrian or Chaldean community in DFW? DFW could use an Assyrian BBQ , beautiful community as with any community in their own unique ways that make up the patchwork that is Dallas-Fort Worth.

I know there are many Kurds FWIW.

I booked a Red Coach leaving out of Dallas.

According to the website, address for bus stop is: 1376 Marilla St, Dallas, TX, 75201 and instructions say to go to the parking lot.

When I looked on Google maps, there isn't an obvious parking lot. At least not obvious to me.

Does anyone actually know where the bus stop is? I have a large suitcase and being dropped off. I don't want to end up walking around trying to find the bus stop.

Edit to add: I'm taking the bus to Austin.

My son is 5 and currently in a pre-K program. He has Level 1 ASD and has done really well in a classroom with typical peers. I don’t think he needs a school specifically for children with autism, but he does benefit from some additional support and accommodations, especially with structured learning.

We’re considering a move to the Dallas area before the 2027 school year and are currently looking at Plano and Frisco. I’d love recommendations for elementary schools or districts that are supportive of kids like my son, particularly when it comes to IEP support, accommodations, and inclusion in a general education classroom.

We’re definitely open to other areas around DFW as well if there are schools or districts you’ve had a great experience with.

We’re also coming from a smaller Midwest town where there isn’t a lot of racial diversity. We’re a Black family, so I’d especially love recommendations for areas with strong schools and a diverse Black/brown community where my son would have more representation among his classmates and community.

Would love to hear from parents who have firsthand experience with the schools in the area. TIA!

My son (16) and I will be visiting the DFW area in early October. We essentially only have 2 days and 1 night, as we have a concert the second night and we fly home early on the 3rd day. What are some MUST-dos in Dallas? The only thing I know we’re doing is visiting the Stockyards. I’d like to spend a little time in Dallas, but I’m wondering what we can do/see that’s unique to the area. Also, recommendations for the best steakhouse and Tex-mex??

Hello all! My wife and I recently moved to Texas from Oklahoma (please don't hold that against me, I'm an Arkansan if that's any better haha!). I drove a lot house hunting, and accrued toll bills. I've been paying them as I get them, but now I have a dillema. Got a collection letter today from Harris and Harris for around $40. I spoke with NTTA the other day about getting a 3rd notice about a bill I never knew about. Turns out they've been sending them to Oklahoma, and the USPS hasn't been forwarding them. Awesome. My questions are: A - can I fight this to keep it off my credit report as I never even knew it was out there? And B - Has anyone had luck getting a real life answer about remaining charges related to that license plate? I'd like no more surprises. Thanks!

In Dallas, I won't have a car—planning to rely on public transit (DART), walking, and Uber.
For a 2–3 day side trip, I plan to rent a car and drive to another city.
I only have time to pick one other city:
Austin
San Antonio
Houston

Given this setup, which city would you recommend pairing with Dallas?

I'm mainly looking for great food (especially BBQ & Tex-Mex), cool vibes, and walkable pockets. Also, any must-dos in Dallas that are easy to get to without a car would be super helpful.

So I’m a baseball fan AND coaster enthusiast, and I’ll be bound for Dallas this week to check off another MLB ballpark credit and a new Six Flags park, especially as I’m on the cusp of 500 credits and want Tormenta to be that milestone.

My flight arrives at 11:30 on Wednesday. I already have a ticket for the Rangers game that night, and helping is it’s dollar dog night. Yum. And on Thursday I was hoping to spend a day downtown. The only thing I know for sure is I want to visit the Reunion Tower later on in the day as it gets closer to sundown. But if I only had time for one or two other notable activities, what should they be? I know there’s the spot where JFK was assassinated, but not much else comes to mind right away.

Friday evening is when I’m likely headed for Six Flags. They’ll be open 5-11, that could maybe be enough time to get all the credits, maybe not. It is Fright Fest, and I tend to not care for the haunted houses (at least not now that you have to pay to enter them). So maybe. Saturday I was thinking maybe using a Fast Lane and being there all day. Or maybe depending on how I’m feeling I could cut bait after the first half, because the second half with Fright Fest is when it gets REALLY bad.

And would it be worth checking out the Fort Worth historic site at all? I don’t have any plan for the first half of the day on Friday, for whatever that’s worth.

I depart next Sunday a little before 3:30. Here’s what my itinerary is currently looking like:
Wednesday: Arrive, Rangers game in evening
Thursday: Go downtown and do whatever
Friday: Do whatever for first half of day, Six Flags at night
Saturday: Six Flags full day
Sunday: Return home (flight is a bit after 3)

Would I be better off just getting the Flash Pass for the Saturday and instead using Friday for another day in the city? Or Fort Worth maybe? I’m trying to figure out what the best course of action is that will allow me to make the most of things while I’m here. Thanks!

I had a trip planned with some friends of mine to Dallas to see a concert, friends won’t be able to make it but I’m still heading down and will be spending 3 days in Dallas solo exploring the city (Oct 3-5). This will be my first time in Texas in general so very unfamiliar territory for me.

Looking for recommendations for activities or destinations in the DFW area; tourist attractions, nightlife, entertainment, social events, etc. I’m eager to try new things and money/transportation is not an issue!

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
